I run a consultancy by day and perform as a magician by night. I might have more hobbies than anyone else and am obsessed with learning new skills.
Through these videos, I share advice on how to get better at anything, follow your creative passions and find time to work on things that make you happy.
Well put together, and I felt your journey. This caught my eye since I recently hit the 1k mark. No matter the niche, RU-vid is brutal. Rock the stache, man
Shh. Let me tell you a secret. You don't need to get to 1000 subscribers. You can set up a patreon or pay pal account and start asking for tips.... TODAY. In fact, when you do reach 1000 subscribers, you will want to refuse joining the YT monetization program, because doing so, will plaster all your videos with non-targeted spam ads and drive viewers away. You'll h8t3 it, ads are now all over your videos making them look trashy as F! You'll turn them all off, and then YT will drop you from the program after a month.

You won't make any money from tips, but you won't from YT ads... either. So... six one way half a dozen another. At least with direct donations you get to keep more of what someone gives to you, and they really do like your content.
Great video! Your video quality is excellent! I just got started myself, so it's interesting to hear from someone who is still new but has already had some success. 👍
just echoing the rest of what i've seen in this comment section, production value and value of content is incredible and haven't a clue how this account isn't on way more subs than it is. Time will do it's thing. great work
You are not kidding. I've been at it for about the same amount of time, since Feb 2024, and the watch time has been steady but the subs have been A GRIND. Love the relatability and agree with you on all the tips 🔥 keep up the great work!
It's because ur not doing it right: (also tell me if this helps a bit 🙏) 1. Your thumbnail of this video in a way treats the viewer as a toddler (the face obviously looking tired, but getting told that it's tired, also breaching "show, don't tell.") 2. You can get all advice from reading the chapters ngl Try prepare a bit more for next time, including a really good performing video idea.
@@animezero thanks for the feedback. It took me ages to make! I'm the biggest photoshop novice so every time I make one I always want to rage quit half way through!
Just to give some feedback, i think you could do better on the audio editing. Especially on the background music. It's sometimes a little too loud. Try using a DAW and play around with EQ etc
@@henrydidit just thinking to provide you strategistic approach( idea generation to video production) that can scale your channel to first 10k. Can you provide your email/instagram?
I think that's the hardest part of RU-vid video. Keeping attention. Like I know the content is good, you got me tip 1, 2, 3 and then my game queue popped up and I was gone. The algorthim helped out there and suggest you again :D
Love this (and loved the book, thanks for the recommendation!) Speaking of shirking at work, I am supposed to be filming my next RU-vid video and not watching this 🥴
I absolutely LOVE this. It's one of my favourite books on creativity and the process of doing it, and you've deconstructed it beautifully. Such a good and timely refresher!

How to progress with ADHD brain which is unable to organise and form a plan and to continue with it and is subconsciously persistent in giving up when the task is difficult or unpleasant in favour of what is pleasant and appealing such as anything we are addicted into like social media etc. The main problem for growth is to overcome self mind psychological hurdles.
Very tricky one indeed. I have a few neurodiverse friends who grapple with this and perhaps a video with them in future thinking about this challenge could be helpful. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them! Thanks for commenting too.
@@henrydidit my main problem is focus, must be due to ADHD. Those who are very focused and dedicated may have great memory and will read and remember things in one go, whereas we lack temporal memory or frontal lobe, and maybe attracted to diverse topics and interest without focus on one thing. So you should try asking them for tips to improve this weakness of concentration and focus, and time awareness. Lack of memory/ time is the cause of extreme procrastination and all forms of problems.
