A reference you didn't mention is from the 2011 (excellent) indie movie "You're Next" (which is in the same vein of The Strangers), by Adam Wingard. And that's why it's called Wingard Cottage. :)
This is officially my Fun Fact of the day! Totally something I overlooked and didn’t even realize! Also, 100% agree, “You’re Next” was an excellent movie.
I actually noticed an error with the game at 1:02:09. The 2nd Admiral Zhao card that you shiwed is actually in boxes 2-5, which Zhao actually died at the end of season 1 of last airbender. I can't understand why you still fight him in the earth boxes (3-5) when he should be gone in box 2 at this point. I think the designer messed up some facts there to not realize that Zhao was only active in season 1 in the show if the boxes should be matching the show. Otherwise, great playthrough, and I look forward to the rest of the boxes in 1-2 months. Edit: Forgot to mention something else too. I did notice that the game doesn't offer a lot of ways to trash cards from your deck at all other than a few "remove from play" effects, and I feel like it could have been a design choice on the designer's end with making you think "why would you trash an ally out of your deck?" Basically, the 4 offer aid cards everyone starts with becomes trash late in the deck, and having to deal with 4 dead cards in the mid to late game with no way to trash them out of the deck isn't something I like if its suppose to be balance out with 50+ draw effects on cards. That's just my thoughts, but games where you don't have a lot of ways to trash card is a thought I take a bit seriously if I do think about buying a game, and with this one, I might end up putting it on the wishlist for now.
You and I actually have VERY similar thoughts. I agree that Zhao should have been removed after box 2. MAYBE keep him for box 3 to have more use out of him, but you’re totally correct in that it makes no sense story wise. So the issue with not being able to thin out your deck is the exact same issue I had with Battle for Hogwarts. It wasn’t until an expansion was added that you were able to thin out useless cards. And there’s unfortunately nothing like that in this game, which is a shame because those Offer Aid cards really shouldn’t be there in the late game. Best you can do is build up card draw to cycle through your deck faster.
@@homegamerdad Thanks for the reply. Like I said, I'll have Aang's destiny on my wishlist and if an expansion comes out to thin out cards like they did with Hogwarts, I might take a 2nd look at it at that point, but considering the base game is the entire story, I don't see that happening anytime soon if ever.
Hi, mate. I did my own mash up solo game tonight using Nemeis Prime. He is an absolute monster! You're absolutely right about the amount of options they have on expansions and the like. Beast Wars must be next surely! On the 11th October Renegade are unveiling new pre orders for stuff, so let's keep our fingers crossed! Personally, there is a character called Jhiaxus from the comics who was a kind of rogue Cybertronian. I hope he makes an appearance one day!
Should be out right now! The “pre-order” button isn’t on the OP’s website anymore, and I’m seeing others say they have it on the Facebook groups I’m on. It’s 100% worth it for sure, especially if you’re a fan of the show!
Great stuff, but I disagree with your assessment of Ellen's ultimate vs. the ultimate search die. With the die, you get to look at maximum 3 cards, and that's only if you roll well with the ultimate die AND roll two successes on the regular dice. It could do nothing at all. Ellen's ability always lets you look at 4 cards (more in other scenarios), even if you only get one success. That's strictly better. Not to mention that her ultimate ensures you'll get the Super Loader's keys one way or the other (it's designed with that in mind, since it may happen that the keys are among the items left out of the game but Ellen can still retrieve them).
Yeah, pretty sure I misinterpreted her ability when playing, and I agree that overall her special is better then the ultimate die. Those die in general are okay, I actually don't find myself using them as much as I thought I would. Cool idea for sure, but some of those ultimate powers on the Final Girls are CRAZY good!
@@homegamerdad Yeah, I also never use those dice. But I like to have them, they look cool. :) I use the desperation die, in that I just keep it near the board, then I never actually roll it, but knowing you have the option in case of a "make it or break it" situation is nice.
There's actually a few out now (Like Fire Nation Rising and Crossroads of Destiny) AND even one coming to Kickstarter soon (Journey of Aang), but this is the first one I've gotten my hands on, and it is AMAZING!
I've learned over MANY games to never underestimate Planning or Improvise. Those cards (especially in combination) can really turn the tide in battle. Honestly the only card I've never used is Long Rest, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it somewhere.
1:29:06 of course the minute Zuko shows up the next card says 'regain my honor'. Are the enemy character cards shuffled or did you just get lucky getting Zuko last both times?
For my first game, that was all 100% luck of the draw, Zuko coming out last was an amazing storytelling moment. For this one *spoiler* I put him on the bottom, because I couldn't see a better way for it to end. Now Jet coming out first, that was all the shuffle, love it when the cards help tell the story.
This game was not on my radar in the slightest, but this was a great video highlighting it! Can't wait to see the rest of the series. My only thought is it seems a bit too easy to win box 1, or at least avoid losing. Is that accurate or did you just get god draw lucky/played super skillfully?
The first few boxes are made to be easy (though I've played a few times already so I have a better grasp on the game). It's not until 4 that things get hard, and I've actually lost a few times in boxes 5 through 7. SO these first few are more like tutorials than anything else, but still a LOT of fun to play.
@@homegamerdad So when do we get a new FG video? I'm burning through your archive fast. :) Also, series 3 should deliver next month, right? I only bought the Hellraiser one, I hope to experience the others vicariously through you. :)
WEEELLLLL with it being October, I definitely want to get one out this month. I'm looking at next Friday for the final feature film in series 2, the Big Bad Wolf. Then the Terror From the Grave I'm hoping to get out either next month or Dec, before the new year for sure. I only say that because I believe series 3 is delayed until January. I got to double check the last few updates, hoping I'm wrong 🤞
@@homegamerdad You're right, delivery is now early next year, unfortunately. :( Oh well, maybe you can revisit some scenarios once you've finished them all. I'd like to see the final girls you didn't use, or those from the box of props, who are pretty cool (two of them are from another Van Ryder game, did you know?)
Just found out your channel and especially the Final Girl content, gonna binge it all! You're definitely one of the most accurate Final Girl players on YT. It's so easy to forget one of the minor rules with this game, especially when multiple effects trigger at once. The only thing you're doing wrong, I think, is the panic phase. During the panic phase of a turn in which at least one victim has died, you have to panic the victims that are in the killer space, not those left behind after the killer moved away, like at 50:40. Other than that, pretty much flawless!
THANK YOU! lol I do appreciate that, though my runs are far from flawless (just wait until you see my Geppetto session 😅), but if I catch mistakes while playing I try to incorporate them into a narrative. It's one of my favorite things about this game, regardless you can create a story around what's on the table. Or I just put text on the screen while editing, either works! Again, thank you so much!
Oh I will be covering them ALL! Just not all at once, going “Book” by “book” over the next few months. Will do boxes 1 & 2 now, covering Water. Then in November I’ll do the 3 Earth boxes and finish off the story in December with the Fire chapter. In the end, it will be an epic adventure through the game!
I watched couple of tutorials before play and of course flipped the rules over that first session of mine. Now that I had that first session, I found your video to possibly catch any mistakes I may have made....and mate, I wished your video popped when I was learning the rules at first. It's way better organised and paced than the other ones I've seen. In the end I only made a mistake of using the recruitment points from the "reserved card" (played 2 handed). Thanks a lot for your content, now that I am stuck behind the desk at work...why the hell shouldn't I watch your playthrough.
Thank you so much! I’m glad it helped you out, this is a GREAT game though the rules (especially for solo) can be a bit weird to understand. Yes please, go enjoy my sessions! 😆 Definitely more to come, looking to do Mission 5 Cold Snap once the weather gets a bit… colder 🥶
Still waiting on it 😑 Every update from CMON in regards to the game is something like "XYZ is still being developed, shipping ahs been pushed 2 months". I'm HOPING 🙏🤞to see it early 2025, but at this point I'm not holding my breath. It is still coming, and I'm still excited to get it, but delay after delay after delay...
Hello from Spain! Thank you very much for this video, I have a question about how to prepare a coop/solo game. Regarding NON-cooperative schemes/initiatives, you would add 5 cards from the enemy side to the deck before making the matrix or you would only use the cooperative ones.
I'd say if you are playing TRUE solo (only 1 Robot), then don't use coop ones, as they are made for multiple players. But if you (or have others) playing different characters, then you actually can use both. I'd even say step it up a bit with 3 from the opposite faction and 3 coop schemes. That's a great thing about this game, you can customize it to however you want to play! Thank you so much! 🙇♂️
Tick Tock Kick's already been mentioned that it would do 2 damage (though 3 with Flanking). I've played the Time Force Megazord a ton of times and I can't honestly recall ever using Mode Red when there was a single Fast card in play. Ignoring Fast is SO good. Having not played GI Joe I love learning some of the rules. I'm probably going to have to start using that four XP for an extra Zord rule. Sure some games you won't have the extra experience yet it will be a very fun addition when you do. I'll love getting to use more Zords in my games! Really weird rules mess-up that almost no one catches. I made this mistake for my first dozen games or so. When the Putty overflowed from the Park due to it being full it shouldn't have went to the Juice Bar, because the Juice Bar was panicked. The Putty should have went past it all the way to Stone Canyon High. When ANY figure overflows from a full area, even a footsoldier, it must go to a NON-panicked location. It is written in the rulebook, though super easy to miss and one of the most fiddly rules. No figure can ever overflow to a panicked location - they always go to the first non-panicked location. (If a footsoldier is being deployed directly to a panicked location it goes there fine. It is only OVERFLOW that must go to the first non-panicked location. It's a punishment mechanism to make the game closer to full panic when this happens.) Oh, and also, no monster or boss can ever deploy to a panicked location. They always bypass it to a non-panicked location - again, punishment mechanism to bring you closer to defeat by ensuring a new area MUST panic whenever a monster/boss is deployed. Even if there is room Kiya wouldn't go to your location whenever it is panicked. Yes, the deployment rules are the most fiddly, convoluted part of the game. Even with my OCD it took me a while to memorize them entirely. Good luck. The Wheeler Zord and other 'at any time' abilities can be used during Deployment. Note however once a deployment card is drawn the figures must be placed immediately - you cannot play any cards until after those figures are placed. Ranger actions must occur before or between individual deployments. 1 die equals 5/6 average damage. 8 dice actually only averages 6 and 2/3 damage. Therefore Flynn did really awesome on that attack. Because he's Scottish! And Shadowborg falls to the Blue Rangers! Anyone who's seen Beetleborgs knows how appropriate that is. Forgot Grim Conviction when you rolled double blanks for Kiya. Uh oh! And has been mentioned you couldn't use Delta Runner on a Ranger turn. That Deep Scars really adds up doesn't it? You only beat ONE of her cards yet Kiya was still wrecking you. In a quick battle. With strong defense. Kiya's passives are VERY dangerous. She's a deceptively difficult boss. Probably one of the harder ones. I haven't read the comics but I like playing her for that reason. I also feel like Lauren and the ladies fared way better against her in the other game. Though that was probably because Lauren's a powerhouse. I was definitely less impressed with the Forever Blue cards compared to Forever Red. This game inherently favors offense over defense. I do appreciate the defense theme of Blue Rangers however as you say 'brute forcing it' is generally easier. Blue Brilliance was awesome though. Likely to be a staple for my Blue Rangers going forward. And I really love your scenario. The setup of it is brilliant. I expect I'll be trying it out with different teams instead of single color and alternative 'roaming monsters' instead of just Venjix. Snide feels like an appropriate choice of nemesis for Kendall and Heckyl. Just wish he was tougher. Yes, I do expect Yellow to be next, however I'm more looking forward to Pink. With Purple unlikely to happen it will probably be my favorite Forever set. I've already played many all Pink games and they tend to be EXTREMELY strong teams. Even moreso than an all Red team. Red's theme is boosting attacks, Blue's is defense; Pink is just about really strong raw attacks and damage output - note the Power Bow is the strongest base Power Weapon. The overwhelming offense inherent to Pink Rangers can steamroll most opponents very easily. Add in Forever Pink cards on top of that? I can't wait!
Glad you enjoyed the run! I'm not so much less impressed with Blue over Red, it's jsut that Red is more my game style compared to blue. Now I'm sure WHEN Black is released, I'll gravitate towards that, as those characters are often VERY offensive. I'm still convinced we'll see Yellow then Pink, but who knows. The Kickstarter that's coming up is a HUGE unknown, all speculation about what's going to be in it. Just got to wait until they announce it in October, and then be prepared to shell out all the monies 😵💫💸 Thank you again!
This beast is definitely a challenge. Got to be very strategic with what parts you take down first or else he will lay waist to your team. It's a fun puzzle.
Wow that last match was a real battle of endurance, even if it felt like there was no way for them to lose. Can't wait to see all Green, Yellow, maybe even Pink or Black!
Always love to see the 3 x 3 board. Oh no! Forgot Machine Empire Elite again! Luckily you caught it. Stupid Venjix. That Triple Power Axes hit was glorious! Rock on Rocky! And now you see why I love playing Kendall so much. Full damage to three cards is SO satisfying. Sword of Light on Rocky is an awesome combo. Rocky is definitely turning out to be your MVP. I love seeing an underrated Ranger - referring to the show - get to shine. Big Bad Beating was also guarded by Scattershots. You missed two Guards at the start. Eh, it happens. Oh good. You realized how Power Axes works. And just adding a die to it is awesome enough. However the error here that's easy to miss is you can't even play Power Axes while Path of Frost is in play. You can never have 3 Energy in the pool and the energy must be paid FROM the pool, not a Ranger's storage. A Ranger takes their Energy and puts it in the pool when they want to use it - Energy can only be spent FROM the pool. Except it would be immediately drained if it went over 3. The inability to ever spend more than 2 Energy at once is what makes Path of Frost SO crippling. Oh, and because I'm me, I have to note that Rapid Blast is 2 Energy. Kendall doesn't care about your stupid Path of Frost. She'll blast all of you anyway. All that said taking out three cards with Power Axes again is amazing. Screw the rules, villains deserve to lose. Like they don't cheat all the time anyway. Really didn't expect to see TF Megazord Mode Blue. That was an amazing surprise. Love it!
That Power Axe/Power Pod Sword combo still lingers in my brain. I keep hearing both sides to it, how it works one way where as others say it works a different way. I'm fine doing "rule of fun" and making work the most logical way I can. So long as it gets the job done! Glad you like the 3x3 board usage! I don't think I'll ever play Mastermind Mode, so I got to use it for something. This feels like a great way to use it, adds a decent challenge and switches the formula up.
Interesting team. It should be fun to see how Venjix fares against every color. I expect he'll be surprised that some of them beat him even worse than the Red Rangers did. And speaking of surprises, my Forever Blue set finally shipped today. Hopefully gets here soon! While I think Rocky is an underrated Red Ranger, and actually better than quite a few of them, I agree he really came into his own in Zeo and was an excellent Blue Ranger. Though honestly Zeo was such a good season I feel that nearly every returning character improved over MMPR. You could tell the show had gotten its sea legs under it by then and had kind of figured itself out. The Black Box is honestly the single strongest card in the game. It will always be the best modifier available to maximize damage. Lauren rocks like that. Number one thing I want in the Kickstarter is another Kendall. Sorry, you asked. (Seriously though, I'd love a Dr. K/Alpha 5 style Kendall at the base. She spent more time there than in the field even after becoming a Ranger.) There should have still been 2 footsoliders left on the board, not one. The surviving Bluehead plus Naja's revival. It's 1/36 chance to roll two doubles. So not great. That's why you don't play horseshoes with a buffalo. ... The Zeo Jet Cycles are the only Arsenal Card I don't like, mainly because the goal is to avoid having your team get defeated and sent home as much as possible. To make it more generally useful I had actually already house-ruled it to simply be a free move for up to 2 Rangers in the same location. So, yeah. I say you had a good idea for it. I'm not sure what accent that is but it definitely isn't Scottish. Yeah, the combo between Power Axes and Power Pod Sword doesn't work. Power Axes works like my favorite card, Rapid Blast. It doesn't pick a target, like it says, INSTEAD of choosing a target it deals auto damage to the applicable cards, bypassing guard and never targeting any of them. Since there never IS a target you cannot spread the damage among any number of targets, because there never are any when using Power Axes. That said you could still use the Sword to simply add 1 die. You don't have to be able to trigger both effects to play it. It says MAY divide the damage, not must. Oh, and yes, I have used the Thunder Slinger with Kendall a lot. It's a great cheap powerup to get two more dice onto Rapid Blast. It can work with Power Axes too though it requires much more setup by placing energy tokens first. Madam Woe is up next. Catch you in a few!
Got to say I usually don't add the Jet Cycles to the lineup because they don't do anything in Solo mode, but I liked how I adjusted it to work. Might do that again in future games, who knows. This was a fun line up for sure! I think any team that's made up of the same color ranger is fun, get to see how different they all are while also seeing the similarities from their color set. Rocky became my MVP for sure, though each of them did a great job handling different aspects of the fights! Thank you!
Unfortunately there is no link. I ask every so often if he wants to try and sell them, but haven’t committed to anything yet. If the day ever comes where they ARE offered, I’ll be sure to let you know! 👍🏻
59:13 Yes, I Believe, You Played This Combo Correctly. HOWEVER, It's More Effective When Multiple Targets Have An Energy Token On Them. If You Have A Way To Do That In The Future (Especially During A Battle With A Monster/Nemesis Or Boss) DO NOT MISS OUT ON THAT OPPORTUNITY!
Yup, I take advantage of spreading as many energy tokens around as I can before unloading a HUGE Power Axe attack during an upcoming Monster fight. Took me a bit to understand how to get the most out of the Attack. Let me tell you, when it's all set up, Rocky freaking RULES!
Just found this now. I actually beat Creech Manor/Poltergeist the first time I played it, due to a strange combination of circumstances where the Poltergeist got stuck outside the house.
Now you got to play it again and see if that duplicates 😅 I tell you, this game is SUPER swingy. Some games are a walk in the park, others burry you within two turns. I may be the crazy one, but that’s one of the many things I love about it 🤪
@@homegamerdad I know it won't duplicate. It was a very specific set of events that were required - setup, items, Terror cards, Dark Powers. If I'd run into anything that teleported the killer to me as you did in the video, it would have failed. Still funny though.
@@homegamerdad I also had an absurdly fast win in one of my first attempts because the setup put me in the attic, and Carolyn happened to be there, and the event was the helicopter on the roof, so it was like a three-turn win. In a more satisfying one, the Poltergeist had revealed the Invisible Barrier dark power, so I needed to be fully healed to reach an exit. Holding Carolyn's hand, I failed to walk and should have taken damage as a consequence, but you resolve the line left to right, so I triggered the win condition BEFORE taking damage, so I basically tripped over through the barrier face first. :)
My first exposure to Heroes of the Grid was at a convention where, I believe it was actually someone from Renegade, was showing off the Psycho Ranger expansion. I ended up winning the Shattered Grid expansion in a raffle at that con. Since then I tried playing it but couldn't really follow the rules. However I'm also crazy so I ended up getting pretty much every set that is available, including the extra card packs. I think the only sets I'm currently missing are the ones that just came out this year. Maybe one day I'll actually be able to play a full game😂.
I remember the VERY first time I ever played the game was at New York Comic Con at the renegade booth. I had already backed the kickstarter, but that game sealed the deal for me. Fast forward to today, and I’ve committed to EVERYTHING new that’s released 😅 Hope you do get in that game! Besides a fun series to collect, the game is quite a lot of fun! Especially with a bunch of fellow Ranger fans.
Idk if an official ruling on meditate but i would definitely say it lets you enter sleep state like long/short rest does. I mean in real life one of the tips for people with sleep issues is to meditate to calm yourself amd fall asleep.
Yeah, I’m still not sure how those signature cards fit into rules like this, but I’m with you. Thematically, and logically, that card SHOULD bring the final girl into a dream state.
Cool ideas here! At the beginning of the game, I create a "Personal Reserve" pile, which includes 1 Relic, 2 Robots, 1 Technology, 1 Maneuver, and 1 Ally card. Then, I allow earned VPs to be spent to buy these cards during the Action Phase. Basically, VPs act as "Power," but it is the only way to purchase a card from your Personal Reserve. If chosen Characters have Robot card versions of themselves, I will set aside those before creating the Main Deck; otherwise, I just pull all of the cards from the set-aside Main Deck cards. Then, I randomly draw 2 Relic cards and select one to keep for the Personal Reserve.
I LOVE that idea! Never even thought to have a separate deck to purchase cards from using VP. Yeah, I definitely need to try that, seems like a great use for it and easy to incorporate into any game.
The way I see Joseph's second ability, after you've placed any enemies from the encounter cards, you can optionally move him to an adjacent square. This would be great if something spawns in the same square as him!
I am so jealous! I haven't gotten my pack yet even though my Ranger Allies 4 got here a week ago. I'm really eager to try these out with my favorite Blue Ranger: Heckyl. (Yes, he's a Blue Ranger. Look at his suit. That's how colors work. Remember that RJ is a Purple Ranger. His color isn't 'Wolf'.) Insightful Strike is 100% the individual card (ie. Cannon Fodder, Sword Strike). I never even thought to interpret it otherwise. The specific wording is 'same name as the target'. The target of your attack isn't Goldar, it's Sword Strike. You're not targeting EVERY Goldar card. You're not hitting Grudge or Heat Beam Eyes. The specific target of your attack is Sword Strike. There is no gameplay mechanic for an attack to target Goldar. It isn't mechanically possible. You must target an individual card for an attack, meaning the target's name must therefore also be that individual card's name. I'd bet my Kendall figure and deck that I'm right. Blue Brilliance would work so well with Heckyl to let him synergize with Kendall, who loves drawing cards. Yellow is your prediction for the next set? Interesting. My guess is Purple. ... Seriously though, it is probably Yellow. Even though I expect Red or Blue to still be my favorite set when all's said and done. Lauren and Heckyl support! Yay! Just In Case is ANOTHER card that helps Heckyl synergize with Kendall by stacking her deck. The combos! I want to play my two favorite Rangers together with these new cards! Send me my Forever Blue Pack please! Power of Invention and Commanding Strike make me think there is going to be a zero cost 3 dice attack for every color just with a different gimmick to trigger it. Also Kendall extends her thanks for saying Blue Rangers are generally the smartest on the team. Though I still maintain Koda was the second most intelligent Dino Charge Ranger. He had good instincts and adapted very quickly. Lack of knowledge/familiarity is not lack of intelligence. I bet she let him use her first name because she recognized he was in fact quite smart. And now I realize how much I want them to release Koda. We need more Dino Charge people! Forever Blue is so good for setting up all kinds of combos. Love it way more than Forever Red. I found that card just sat in my hand a lot because attack bonuses tend to be easier and faster (Red Strength anyone?) than using a whole turn to set up rerolls. Well Heckyl doesn't really play like a normal Blue Ranger so he wouldn't synergize well. My next favorite Blue Ranger overall is Tori and she isn't out yet. However my third favorite Blue Ranger is TJ and I really think he'd make a magnificent addition to your team. He almost feels like he'd be vital to your success because he brings some much needed offensive support to the generally defensive Blue Rangers. His ability to give guaranteed damage plus his awesome Zord feel like just the offensive punch a team of defenders needs to ensure they are able to bring home the win for the good guys. Also they are definitely NOT doing a Forever White/Pink set. Pink will be getting its own set. It's possibly the most iconic Ranger color overall rivalling even Red. There's a reason the walk-off in season two failed and it's because Amy Jo Johnson didn't go with them. Her leaving WOULD have torpedoed the show. Kerrigan Mahan even warned them that if they got her it would work and if they didn't it would fail. Being brutally honest he told them she was the only cast member that mattered to the producers. OR simply put: Pink is very important to the franchise. It will get its own set. There's no way they'd disrespect such an important color like that.
Dino Charge is definitely your team, hope to see even more of them come out because I feel like you’ll have all the strategies for them. And yes, I would agree that Heckyl IS a blue ranger and can use those cards. Hope you get them soon!
I just went back and liked every PR video you made because I have been watching your videos since day one and never really "liked" videos but you convinced me man. I love PR and the game so I thank you for the content. I am even subscribed on my other profiles. Great job.
You are a legend! Thank you SO much, very much appreciate your support and very happy you enjoy my videos! So long as renegade keeps making more for the game, I will be covering it. Thank you!
IF you're doing a forever blue, you got to include Hyperforce Blue. If you're including Psycho Blue as a villain, then Blue In Space makes sense, but I think Sky from SPD could be a fun addition too. A weird choice would be the Navy Thunder Ranger from Allied Pack 4, stretch the limit of what blue means.
Navy I’m waiting to do a “brothers” play through featuring Thunder Bros and Beast Morpher Bros, think that would be a fun matchup. As for the others, all are SOLID blue rangers, with TJ being my favorite of the bunch. I’ve actually used them all in previous recorded sessions, so I want to try and show off those I didn’t use, BUT in future personal forever blue plays, those would be top picks for sure.
@@homegamerdad that's fair! Alpha-5 specifically are Billy cards according to the rules. Shadow Ranger's cards are dark blue-ish so I figured it was close enough. Just never thought of Doggie as a blue ranger, but he is blue dog himself so it tracks a bit lol
Your table, so play how you want, of course but I always interpreted the Shadow Ranger to be considered a black ranger. I know his cards are on the blue side, but going by Chris' logic about Blue Senturion, Doggie is on the black ranger poster.
He’s on the black ranger poster? Well, learn something new every day. I mean yeah, ultimately it’s “your table, your call”, but knowing he’s on the forever black poster seals it for me. I’ll have to take a deeper look at all those images.
@@jprevot8503 I always considered shadow ranger to be a black ranger too. It’s literally the color of his cards throwing me. Not like I plan to even deck build with Shadow Ranger at all anymore. It was just more a curious question 😅😂
My blue ranger group member loves this forever blue package! He thinks Stroke of Genius is so good! He's our main Billy! My group wants more deck building options in general for this game, so we're down for it lol
1000% agreed! If we get a “Forever color” set for at least the main 7 colors (red, blue, yellow, pink, black, green, white), then I’ll be more then happy with that. Of course I’d like the others, but get what we can. Just waiting on the fall Kickstarter!
@@homegamerdad I hope that's the plan for deck building, get at least the main primary colors generics to deck build with! Fall Kickstarter is exciting! I finally got the OG kickstarter expansion. Will do video for it when the expansion shows up!
Oh no! Hope it ships soon, this set is awesome, especially if you’re familiar with Forever Red. That and the rangers in ally pack 4 are amazing and quite unique. 🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻for your delivery!
So, the way i read insightful strike, it would target actual card names. Like if there are 2 of the cog card “tick tock kick” in the combat, insightful strike gets +1 die. If one of them has already resolved, it goes to +2 dice total
Thanks for all of your Final Girl content. Great gameplay paired with your always entertaining commentary. I just bought the Box of Props and Big Bad Wolf and am looking forward to your future playthoughs. Well done!
Thank you very much! Oh man, GREATLY appreciate that comment, huge smile to my day 😄 Gets some plays in against Big Bad because I’m going up against that wild wolf in my next one!
Does anyone have a particular horror movie they hope makes it into an expansion? I'm going full B Movie shlock and rooting for a "Critters" expansion, or maybe a "Tremors"!
Tremors is coming in series 3! It’s part of the Utopia map (aka Perfection, NV 😅). They are not the Killers for the Feature Film, they only appear if you use that specific location. It’s the one I’m most excited for in the upcoming series! I think Critters would be a fantastic vignette, like terror from above or the grave. Totally can see them rolling around and when they group together form a huge ball of teeth. One that I want to see is a Predator interpretation, with a jungle location that has like carnivorous plants you would need to avoid.
@@homegamerdad OMG! You just gave me a great/terrible idea. Imagine this: Little Shop of Horrors!!!! There could be a mechanic where if you feed victims to the plants they won't target you for X turns or they're satiated so you get bonuses on your rolls.
At first I wanted the exorcist but the more I thought about it I would love something like the movie Fallen. A killer that jumps bodies using victims as sheilds would be a fun challenge.
