In process of tiling a tub enclosure with the exact tile you used. The question I have is about your polisher. Can you explain more to me what it’s about? Who is the manufacturer? Is there a certain grit size that you used? Thanks
@johnlarrieu so the "polisher" is actually a grinder with a polishing pad on it. If I were you, I'd get the Milwaukee polisher from home depot. Its the m12 polisher. It is a variable speed with trigger pressure. It comes with the polishing pad that you're going to need. Then go to your local granite or coutertop shop and ask for stone polishing pads. It's not really polishing but easing edges. The 4 inch pads that the stone shops will sell are 4 inch. The pad on the milwaukee is 3 I believe. I sometimes leave the inch over hang to reach corners but it can be dangerous and painful if you catch it wrong. Basically, the polisher is just a quicker way to ease that edge. I use them on almost ever exposed cut though. Some people just use the polishing pads. Those take too long for me. Hope that helps! Good luck to ya!
Well, well, well, look who's back! Love your work and your videos. Curious what the plan is to keep water in the shower area, just a fixed piece of glass with room to walk in between it and the bench?
@vanman3752 I have no control of that and don't really know about doors too much. I know that if it hinged off that wall though, you'd have to get in the shower to turn it on, or get shot in the face with water while you leaned in to turn it on since the door would have to stay open.
@StarrTile I appreciate you Bob! Thanks man. Yeah, life has been nuts for awhile. I know everyone kinda feels the same. Got the itch to edit again though. I still film on every job still. 😆...the editing is what sucks!
Hi Manuel. I'm using this same matte wavy tile on my backsplash. Can you share what you do for the end of the run? I'm thinking a bullnose trim might be better than Schluter edge but I'm concerned that I won't find the exact same 'white' color.
I know what you're talking about. I opted out of using the metal and did a miter return so the wavy end is the finished end. Every wavy tile I've worked with has been ceramic so mitering that 3/8 or 1/2 inch strip wasn't too difficult. If done correctly, it looks sweet!. I'll see if I can post a picture to show what I'm talking about. Problem with the metal is the higher and lower surfaces on that tile don't ever match up with it.
Great tutorial, if I may give some constructive criticism though, whenever you work with 2 part epoxies it’s best to avoid mixing them on poutine surfaces (like cardboard) Because it reduces the strength of the epoxy. This info is usually stated in most manufactures mixing instructions
Everyone is trying to have no gap when you are required, for good reason, to leave a gap for silicone. If you don't it won't be waterproof. Any grout in a corner will just crack due to movement.
Hey, great work! I have just had tiles like this installed but they’ve put a massive silicone seal down the corner which looks hideous as it’s all wavy! Any solutions to make it neater?!
Holy Moly, Lemon Cannoli!!! A 6+min. video!!! I had to refresh YT a few times to ensure it wasn't a mistake before I got so excited to watch!!! And..... I noticed that Nathan has dropped a video or 2 while I was looking you up. So guess where I'm heading over too after this video?? Hoping all is well my friend, Dirty Jersey out!!!
Sooooooooooooooooo SKILLFUL Man!!!! I had to re-watch a few times to get my bearings on the different lines in the tile. Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
How do you like the iQ table top saw? I remember in a previous video you were experiencing some problems with the larger saw. Beautiful work has always.
It has its place. Absolutely love it for small ceramic backsplashes. It cuts Porcelain ok, but much slower and with more chips. Natural stone is a no go. I don't care what blade they throw at you, it isn't true. This saw and it's bigger brother do NOT cut Natural stone well at all. I took the guard off the table top because that thing is useless and just gets in the way. This is the second iq tabletop I've had. The first one had the motor blowout in less than a year. I hope iq makes a better version if they come out with a second one.
Next Level does not even begin to describe this immaculately planed and soficistated executed tiled register cover. This is true artistry and respect for the trade!!! Keep up the phenomenal work!!! You are truly in a class all your own.
Done a splash about 5 months ago 3x5 white subway with prism charcoal grout. As bad as it sucks grouting it that feeling of accomplishment at the end is great! The final product looks great as well and that’s why I do tile in the end. Nice looking splash bro, keep on grinding & cashing them checks!
