Because they were actually friends before forming the band. They met when they were in their late teens in KAIST, both majoring in Computer Science - they kind of skipped a year or so to graduate high school and go to university a year earlier than other students. Look how they seem so comfortable with those plaid shirts :) Anyway, they have known each other like more than 25 years now, I think.
