I need your help!!!!!!! need to buy a power analyzer: The power input to our traffic signal cabinets is 120/240 single-phase. We are interested in assessing AC power grid quality. The typical AC RMS current for a traffic signal cabinet ranges between 30 to 60 amps, we will need to leave the Monitoring unit inside the cabinet for a few days. It is essential to be able to email the recorded data to the electric Company, so having reliable and secure data is important. The cabinets are located on the street, and environmental factors such as humidity, as well as low and high temperatures, May affect the cabinets.

@@TheEspinoza-hf1xf it could indicate it will stop working very soon or it's already no longer able to run. As far as how to repair it would need to be replaced or sent to motor shop for re-winding.
My 3000FC and Fluke Connect does not offer the little down-arrow in the app. to change the sampling log timing. Is this a limitation of the "free" version of the app? Also, have you done a show on the differences between the free and subscription "benefits" of the Fluke Connect app? The Fluke sales info in incredibly vague about what is offered with the free (no subscription) version and with paid subscription, I'd say to the point where a buyer might be discouraged since it _appears_ that you pretty much need a subscription, making it useless for amateur uses.
@FWB Thanks for making a video on the 302+. I was really curious about it because it was selling for so cheap on AMZ, so I was wondering if maybe they were Chinese knock-offs or something. I have a T6-1000 Pro, but I’m going to pick up a 302+ just to mess around with.

If it for AC, you should have a C terminal, Herm, & Fan. Your capacitor will have a number like 45/5uf. Check between C & Herm will be the higher number (45) and between C & Fan will be the lower number (5).
@@davidlindgren7605 I believe that kind of capacitor has 2 capacitors in one. Like a starting capacitor with one microfarad setting for starting the motor and a second for running the motor. The ratings should be on the side of the housing.
@@fridayswithbrandon I think you're right. My capacitor is fine. Turns out the problem was a simple 3 amp fuse on the circuit board that had blown. My advice to others is always check the "stupid stuff" first, like fuses, circuit breakers, etc, before panicking and assuming the world has ended with a blown capacitor or motor failure.
I don't. But if I can get Fluke to send me one I will make one. Or I could do a video I talk about it but I just wouldn't have it in my hand. Let me know if you see value in my making a video I talk about the good and bad of the tool.

Do you need a subscription to use it ? Or is that just to use remote monitoring . Does it have usb to transfer data to a laptop ? Also does it have blue tooth fc capabilities ?
No subscription. But with remote monitoring you have a few options. Best would be to buy the cell phone modem adaptor and get a Sim card. Then you can download the data remotely. If you want a streaming service I don't think that is available. If they do make it available someday that will be a subscription. I have a video on how to transfer data. But yes you can transfer Data to laptop via USB cable, USB flash drive, or wifi direct connection. Yes some Bluetooth FC capabilities.
I can't believe that you felt this was necessary to mention. Someone who can't read that when it's right there on the tool, is probably too dumb to not point the laser in their eye anyway, so shouldn't even be allowed to have access to one. Better to mention who really needs the $160 Fluke and who would be an idiot to pay that much for it when the generics are under $10 and up. Yes I'm aware it has two dots. Woohoo. For that price I'd expect a laser circle even if it took a half dozen laser heads and optics to get there, and for it to include a miniature gnome in the box to use it for me, lol. Hint to people that don't understand: The Fluke is not a high precision, lab grade instrument so it is madness to pay that much for it. Get the real deal or don't, but don't overpay for the name. Besides, it's a crappy design. Printed on, rubber silicone button markings wear off. You should never accept that on any but the cheapest of equipment. I wouldn't be surprised if Fluke will sell you a new button membrane, for more than the whole tool is worth.
Electrician in South Africa here, Every chance I make, new socket install or move a light anything, I must compile a COC, Certificate of Compliance for the full home. If the owner has one I can add an amendment to it. Same as EU. If owner sells his home, and coc is older than 2 years he must get a new one. So not just inspector but every sparky MUST, have installation tester. Prove you did your work right and installation comply to building and Electrical regulation
You would need PTs. It has a voltage ratio you can enter. But the meter itself should never be exposed to more than 1000 V. With PTs and the voltage ratio the meter will display a higher voltage. Example if you had a transformer that was 100 to 1 ratio the meter would read 110 volts from PT but would display on the screen 11,000 Volts. Again - NEVER CONNECT METER TO MORE THAN 1000V
Agreed. But what I'm talking about here, is if you choose not to buy Fluke because of price. The competition to Amprobe at the Amprobe pricing is not as safe as Amprobe because Fluke owns Amprobe and has the ability to test for safety in house.
Nice tracer, i have the ideal 61-957 tracer also a good tracer. Ive tried klien ET450 i found its comparable to the ideal tracer for much less cost price. Effectiveness of these tracers is largely related to user on how to use them properly.
I Found your channel because I have an appreciation for Fluke meters and own a bunch of them. I grew up going to church, I have a few rental properties. I am trying to decide right now what to do with my electrical contracting business. I guess I just want to say I appreciate what you are doing and I am grateful that I found your channel!

I paid 1000$ for mine and the $50 new Klein is easier,faster and cheaper. As for tracking wires and opens after a few hours when I couldn’t find the open myself I did narrow it down to a hallway ceiling and the customer said he would fix it him self. So it’s a last resort thing but I did have luck with the same type the Ideal one . I have this one also for. $1000 had one go bad, returned it , it’s great dog and pony show at best. Expect to spend 2-4+ hours fkn with this sensitivity problem and narrow down the issues. I diagnose problems residential every day and I may use this once in five years because I can find the problem faster with my traditional troubleshooting methods. So if you got 1k to throw it will find your circuit breaker for sure but it’s a lot of bull shit running ext cords and finding grounds that’s not connected to your short or open,and the sesativity button is a fkn absolute joy to fk with. It’s not worth the 1k people like the $300 Klein and the $50 newer Klein for finding cb the easiest
The 87-5 max / 28-2 has a lower diode test voltage than the 87-5. I like the Flukes also because of the diode test, because you dan test LEDs. I often do it at work when testing new PCBs. I donßt like to focus my view on the inside of the LED, so i put my Fluke 2 testpins. It works woth the 82ii/87vmax, but not so good as with the 87v. I think that is because the 85v uses a 9V battery and the others three or four 1,5V AA. I recommend lithium batteries for this kind of devices. I got the 82-v EX for a good price. Once i wanted to use it again, it didn´t turn on. I thought low battery. The batteries were leaked out and damaged the plastic and the contacts on the PCB. Never again! This was a very expensive thing to get a new one for a good price. The old one works again at a colleagues home workshop, but no more "ex", because he has fixed it with a lot of work and cleaning material!
