Hi!! Your journal spread is one of my favorite I've come across ❤ I can't choose the best book of the year either, so I'm just doing my monthly best reads. I also can't do a longer TBR and loved that you did an open-ended spread of 12 books you'd like to read. English isn't my native tongue, but most of my reading and learning has been in Englsih. So I have a resolution to read more books in my native language in the coming months/year. I loved the music you had, it was so calming to watch. Happy to have stumbled across your channel! Subscribed 😇
I used Moleskine watercolor sketchbook here, but I'd recommend a watercolor sketchbook that has 100% cotton paper (which Moleskine doesn't - its only 25% cotton). I love Strathmore series 500 sketchbooks and Hahnemuhle 100% cotton watercolor sketchbooks. They're easy to find here where I live, though, so you may want to check what's available near you.
@@moonlitpoppies thank you so much for taking the time to reply!! Oooh, I will check those last two out, thank you, my books arrived today and I'm keen to get painting, thanks for the video 🤗
You can also have a very light wash of these colors. They are very rich in pigment, so you can keep a lot of transparency if you wish, or have a deep gouache tone with the darkest. You also get fantastic pigment separation with some of their mixes (Prickly Pear, Ruta’s Dream, Captain Albert etc.). All their paints are just gorgeous. And yes they did the lightfast tests
What a great set up. I have mine all ready to film, but haven't taken the time to actually paste everything down on camera yet, so that video will be a little while coming yet. I love watching this kind of content and can't wait to see how you use all you're pages and hear about what you read. New sub and happy to be here.
I've seen your 2024 Reading Journal setup video and I love it (new sub)! 🤩 How is your reading going so far? I'm just getting out of the worst reading slump ever, hopefully it'll all be better from now on with my reading 🤞
@@moonlitpoppies It's going really well! I hot 20 books in q1 and am up to 36 I believe. So far no DNR books and most are 4 and 5 stars so I am having a really great reading year!! It's all about enjoyment. So try and think of the last book you read that you loved, and see if there are books along those lines. Generally I get out of a reading slump by asking friends who have similar taste in books to hand me their favourites with out any info. Reading it blind often helps.
I love this video!! The content, the music, the fact there’s no extra rambling just sticks to topic and such a soothing beautiful voice- I absolutely hit subscribe! Can I ask how you did your titles? Is it just written with marker on paper and cut out? Love your journal- beautiful.
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment 🥰 yes, I just write down titles on chosen paper (preferably self-adhesive - it's a lot easier later on!) and cut them out.
Thank you so much for you comment ♥️ I just love your designs, your Lady Vagabond is amazing! I also have another Stamperia scrapbooking paper set featuring her, I'll definitely use it in one of my future spreads ♥️✨
It looks pretty but I'd be interested to know what sort of notes you keep about the books. Is it different for each book or do you tend to have a structure to the things you record and what you write about?
Actually, it depends on the book and my feelings towards it. I tend to write a plot summary, and what I liked and disliked about the book. But sometimes I focus on other things as well, like, for example, marketing/hype surrounding a given book or important details about author's life, etc.😊
I enjoyed it so I liked it. I like the second fox better as it is more detailed and better... enframed with this round space. Really cool. Any chance of stickers with bits of your art... maybe?
You say English isn't your first language but you sounded like a native to me. English is my first language and you speak it better than I have heard many native speakers speak it!
I came across your channel as I was looking for a reading journal set up . I loved the way you decorate your pages also the topics 👌 I love the stickers of your cover page , may I ask you where you bought these ? Thank you and much fun with the reading .
I'm so happy you enjoyed the video! The stickers on my cover page (as well as the dragon on stats page) are from Stamperia Vintage Library paper set - I simply cut them out. I have updated the video description with the links to some of the supplies I used, so you can check them out if you want ❤️
Hello! I happened to come across this video today! I love your 2024 reading journal set up, will need to catch up on your videos up until now :). Also, you mention that English is not your first language (you speak it very well - I wouldn't have known, had you not mentioned it in the video!), what is your native tongue?
Właśnie trafilam na Twoj kanał. Cudowny journal! Zdecydowanie podkradnę pomysły do swojego. ❤
I am inspired by you. Your POV about your own creative process makes sense to me. It describes me also. I look forward to learning more from you. And please, tell us about yo the music; it is wonderful.
Thank you so much for your kind words and supporting my channel 🥰 I have updated the video description with the info about the music used. I'll make sure to do that in every video from now on!
Hi, thanks for sharing, I too I’m a mood reader and I definitely see TBR doesn’t work for me as well. I love your idea of 12 books for 12 months without setting a date goal for those ones. I might do the same thing as well.
