I'm going to Western this upcoming fall! since this video came out a few years ago, do you have any advice on anything that has changed over that time?
Ugsnehdn western is my top (for health sci) but my av is low 90s so I’m scared I’m gonna need to go for psych (ba) instead 🙁 but I also got into Brescia for health sci so?? IDK
I loved everything about this! Although not even intentional, my gap year ended up being one of the best things that could’ve happened to me. Gave me time to truly figure out what I wanted to do post-grad, and left me feeling refreshed and excited to return to school this past September. Now I’m doing my MSc at Western and couldn’t be happier!
Hey! Great video ! You did a really good job reminding people that our journeys are very unique , and that is okay. I am undergrad student going to be graduating in the next spring 2023 (hopefully). I also plan on taking a gap year because my undergraduate experience was rough. After my gap year , I planned on going to a post doc or graduate school before I applied medical school. So you're not alone. At the end of day, its really important that we do everything we need for ourselves before we feel comfortable to pursue an even more difficult journey such as grad school or med school. We need do everything we can for ourselves to be the best physician we can be for our patients! You got this :)
Thank you for speaking openly about experiencing burnout! Do you think the medical science program at Western helped to prepare you to study and write the MCAT?
yes! it really feels like u don’t learn much and you feel dumb sometimes in this program but i definitely had a really good background of the material on the mcat!
is air fryer and juice makers allowed in suite style residences? It is not specifically mentioned to not bring that - but it says no appliances/indoor grills - but at the same time, these two are somewhat a necessity in a kitchen... Did you happen to bring these stuff at your residence?
I choose western and I’m rlly excited and nervous abt it. Just been watching ur uni videos cuz I feel like ur the most “showing it all” the gd the bad and the ugly of western RU-vidr I could find. Love ur videos so helpful.
So in the fall I’m going to be moving from London ontario into UBC Vancouver. For the first big move out there what are your recommendations for moving all of your stuff? Did you have to ship out any boxes? How many suitcases did you need? Did you just buy all of your bedding/towels in London once you arrived here?
i brought some bedding just bc my brother had some from his first year at UBC. otherwise i didn’t ship anything, just brought 3 check-ins w me. granted bed bath and beyond can be expensive, if you go to a store near u, you can scan what u want and they’ll get it ready for u at a pick up location in vancouver! great service
