The show lost its magic the day Mel died. Not only because he was a great character that functioned as a catalyst for other character's dynamism, but because he brought a narrative arc. As the seasons progressed, we saw the Garveys' development as Mel's empire expanded. When Mel died, there wasn't a narrative arc that spanned multiple seasons in this way, all the remaining characters stagnated and each season was a pastiche of the last. However, it was still a good show - right up until the Garveys left for Vegas. At the point where Sam began working at the hotel and with Joey's introduction - that's when this show became absolutely atrocious and frankly unwatchable.

Unfortunately it will not.. they might now and again play some of the old episodes however it's not politically correct enough or how they say nowadays "woke" enough. The actress who played Joice Temple Savege explained it years ago on GBnews
