Bozho! I am a Native American woman. Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indian citizen. Thank you for your support :) I resell clothing to help put my son through private school.
Not that I am a fan of Goodwill, but they used (don't know if they still do), had an extra/separate semi trailer for clothes that were stained or worn out for recycling. Worn out jeans are shredded for insulation, other clothes may be used in that as well. My clothes that are worn out I burn, living rural with property gives more options. Anybody that says oh your polluting the air, well it's nothing compared to filling up the landfills and the space, cost, energy pollution that comes with that. Ash over about a 2 year period condenses back into dirt. Most land fills used to be burned off back in the day, through the 80s and 90s, now they just buy more acreage as they continue to fill and need more space. Recycling and repurposing item's is always the best thing. You are on spot when you say clothes have become a disposable item, and the thrift stores are overwhelmed with them.
It isn't re-sellers that are bringing prices up. Thrifting is now a hobby. Everyone is doing it now for fun. Look at all the videos out there of people going thrifting and the thrill of the hunt.
Im retired & now im a full-time eBay seller & prior I was part-time. My truck went down last week transmission problems so i was home bound all last week. I finally hit my local thrift store and the employee were calling the three locations to find out if anything is wrong with me, i spend daily at their 3 location. I get stuff saved for me. Tomorrow the librarian in my town father in law passed & they are giving me 15 boxes of items. I generated 119 sales so.far im October & my purchase price on these item was $129.75 due to the free items given to me from my community.
Omgsh Aanii! ♥️ 💛 🖤 🤍 Odawa tribe from Michigan!! I'm a reseller too. I have a vintage booth and sell on eBay. I haven't been posting much on eBay... Gotta get back to it! I subscribed so I'm excited to see your videos!!
My personal take (as a buyer and not a re-seller) is that re-sellers are actually doing a lot to save clothing and other items from ending up in a landfill and therefore are an eco-friendly business model! I have tried shopping at the bins before but I can't handle the pressure!! I'd rather pay a little more from a re-seller and still get quality items for a big discount from retail prices.
I liked this styled of video very much. Great information and detail given on a hot topic. I agree with everything you said. Congrats on your subscriber goal.
Anyone who thinks that resellers buy everything up, should watch Brandy Hellville...the amount of clothes we send to other countries and where they end up is overwhelming. Most people that are looking for inexpensive clothes aren't going to find them at goodwill. They are all about profit and will mark things up as high as retail. That's why their racks are so full you can't even sift through them. Congrats on 1k!! Have a wonderful weekend ❤
hi i do it part time i have the same system of box n skew method ...i think not to let inventory take over your home give yourself a budget n goal after you sell the goal then go buy more...i personally i already why resellers do what we do.. n haters they still dont care so at this point i don't care what people think .. great video
It can be tough to balance the reselling with the personal space! I'm always trying to figure out how to make it work better. So far this setup is working!
I have Veronica Beard silk top and jeans and they have hardly any attention. Maybe Veronica is not my jam LOL..I would embroider the top its too beautiful to waste and someone may do the same so you may as well make it look even more beautiful and get some money for it.
The silk blouse is gorgeous! Hopefully it can be salvaged in some way. I've repaired some small flaws in silk before, but idk about that much. Worth googling "repairing snagged silk" maybe.
Silk is a comfy fabric it feels nice on the body. The color of the Veronica Beard blouse is gorgeous 😍 Maybe at the right price point, a buyer who is a follower of that particular brand will by it as a Layering piece, it can be worn under a nice jacket or coat! Great haul!🎉
You’re right, the color is so pretty! Hopefully it finds a good home! 😁 I don’t think I have the time or want to try to fix it 😅 I’ll probably just list it as is. Thanks for watching 🥹
Hi! Just happened across your video. I noticed you said well I had to toss this as it had stains...I find myself with items stained I didn't see...BUT I found a great trick to get most of them out. I bought a dish tub and some oxiclean at the dollar store (so $2.50 investment) and I will take stained items and sometimes stain treat the stain first and sometimes not, and put it in the tub with 1/2 cup of Oxiclean powder and water and let it soak for 24 up to 48 hours. Then check for the stain or stains. So many times I find the stains are GONE! I have been amazed. Then I just wash and dry as normal. I just finished saving a nightie and a top doing this. Of course its according to fabric. You won't want to do that with silk. If the stain does not come out that way, a last resort is to spray that Dawn foam cleaner on it and let it sit for a day before washing. Yes on tops the places to check the most are neckline, underarms and front areas...sometimes cuffs if long sleeve. I believe in saving things from the landfill, so it is worth my effort and time due to that belief. As far as giving things away, as a sole biz owner - I live off what I make, I also love to give things away but I draw a line. If it can sell it for more than $10...I have to try to sell it first. That is, unless its a special gift (birthday, etc). I have offered things to my neighbor friend at my cost before...and she was very happy to pay that (usually $1 up to $10). I just gave my son a north face puffer jacket (like new) for his birthday and it fit, he loved the color and jacket. A $10 cost for me, but worth a lot more of course. I'll keep a look out for further videos!
You did a great job filming! Essentials FOG sells pretty well. I found a pair of their jeans and they sold really quickly for close to a hundred dollars.
Thank you! Unfortunately someone cut the neckline on that essentials sweater :( but I still listed it! Definitely will be keeping my eye out for it in the future! Thanks for watching ☺️
What a cool find! Seems like it was totally worth it. Those flannels look like they are good quality and perfect for fall. Hopefully all the orange sells well for halloween 😂
Brava to you for thrifting! I used to shop at Goodwill, too, until a couple of years ago when I discovered the Big Cheeses at GW make somewhere between $200 thousand and 1 million dollars per year (depending on what internet search you do). I also found out that employees with disabilities are often paid less than minimum wage (as low as 22 cents per hour), whistleblowers have been fired, and safety issues have led to tragedy. Now my fave thrift store is The Humane Society Thrift Store, also the fave of all our town which voted it the Best Thrift Store - even against GW! We also have thrift stores for hospice, Teen Challenge, and other local charities. I try to be even more ethical about where my little money goes.
Hey Alma!! You can actually use primelister from your cell and laptop! I use them both ☺️ very convenient they have an app so when I’m not near my computer I can use their app!
