I am nature and wildlife photographer living in Nanaimo, BC Canada. I have just recently ( September, 2020) started making videos of things nature related including birds, mammals, insects and wildflowers. I have a special interest in pollinators and native plant gardening but enjoy photographing anything in the natural world.
Lynda, your Barred Owl pictures are beautiful, reminds me when I got excellent pictures of my Barred Owl at Downsview Park in Toronto. Those big black eyes starring right at you when photographing them makes you wonder what they thinking. Great pictures, keep up the good work on your wonderful journey in wildlife photo’s. Brian
Thanks for your kind comments and I am glad that you are enjoying the shows. You're right about those eyes-they keep drawing me to the park every year to watch the current family.
Great video! He or she seems to be keeping an eye on the photographer! Near the end, you can see that this is one of the black bears with a white patch on its chest.
Thanks Keith. I have heard that Stamp is good this year and I hope to get there this week. Quisam has been quieter this year and I only saw this one bear and not until 5pm.
yes, it was interesting to watch. I have another video where the parent brings in a huge and tries to get the chicks to eat it, but none of them could handle it. f
Great footage, and very educational, too. I’ve seen lots of crayfish, but those symbiotic worms are new to me. I’ve also never seen lavender-coloured eyes before. Is that the lighting, or actual colour?
Barred owls are very common urban residents. Great-horned owls are larger and have noticeable ear tufts on their heads-I don't see them as often as barred owls.
