there are people like richard werner who say money shouldnt be created from thin air for non-productive purposes like houses..perhaps there should be some help for primary residence purchase...or maybe it wouldnt matter if a family home was £15K like in the 1970s
Women flocking into the workforce in droves was a reaction to the west not allowing women to earn an income until yesterday. They should have allowed women to work and earn their own money, but men should still have been responsible for paying for everything, i.e. the Islamic model.
people just need to leave the country so that they can buy a home. Skilled people need to go abroad such that the economy tanks then they will have to listen and change things. C'mon people let's all do this at the same time.

So why not just climb over whoever you can nothing wrong with that??? This world is hilarious chaotic and illogical for such an advanced species. Advanced sure as hell does not mean matured. Cause most people although they may be in many ways intelligent they are still idiots tbh and are not really fighting the real fight for true equality they are simply choosing the wrong people to point the finger at for their own personal problems. That problem lies in the people of power whose attention many of these woman would never refuse if they knew it could benefit them directly cause these days that’s all that matters. Poor souls have brain washed to work for the system that is low key destroying any chance of them feeling any real happiness out side of the consumer ideal. Witch is NOT real happiness ask anyone (non- narcissistic) that has those thing you’ll find it has fixed nothing for them in most cases.
One thing with property is you do pay tax ! It’s just that it is at the beginning of the transaction and often gets bundled into your mortgage. If it’s your primary residence you won’t pay tax on selling but will pay if it is a second property
He was kind of wrong about the car thing. Hire purchase etc has everyone driving a new Mercedes that they will never own outright instead of a 2nd hand Kia they own until it can't be repaired any more. The house stuff was right though. Mortgages push prices up to fictional values and mortgages for 2nd homes or buy to let are just wrong.

People expect opportunities to jump on their laps these days, you have to make compromises nowadays, move a few miles or travel a little farther, there are plenty of jobs available but people seem to be so immovable and inflexible. Sometimes you have to move to where the job is that you want to do and go from there. If you are not happy doing that then you’ll have to accept a job you don’t want or one that pays poorly, but that’s your decision, that put you in that situation.

Houses are unaffordable because of greedy estate agents constantly over estimating the price of a property, it's only their untrained opinion after all. The person selling the property just accepts what the estate agent says and they always provide a high figure to get the most commission out of the sale. They are as much low down scum as bankers.
As a "blue collar" worker, ( someone that actually produces something) this doesn't work for us. When i was a miner, the mines ran 24/7 maybe 360 days a year. When I drove a truck, the deliveries had to be made, no working from home. When I built aircraft, we worked 16/6. Those that actually produce, can't work a four day week.
Supply and demand, what do you expect in an overpopulated country... That's right, the highest amount of immigrants year on year, so prices will only ever increase, good luck future generations.
The suburbs would be cool if there was work there and affordable transport infrastructure. Not everyone has remote working and those that do want to go to shoreditch
Two ideas: (I) Nationalise the rail system and do-away with ticketing. Only because the income from ticketing barely covers the admin, maintenance,penalty and/or debt collection costs of itself, nor could it cover the foreigner investor dividends. .and (II) ..put a cap on the amount per sq mtre a house is allowed to be sold, rented or left empty , and any amounts above that is illegal under fraud regulation going back 7 years. Like they do in Berlin....thus making the city less attractive to property profit specualtors, and as a consequence, flats n spaces are used, maintained and lived in, rather than "things ya can flog to make money off of" ...:-) x
The problem they have is that if we work from home we do not SPEND our money. They want us to SPEND our money. We don't have to buy new shoes, clothes, bags, etc, every so often, we don't have to spend £6-£10 every day on coffees and lunches, we don't have to spend thousands of pounds on petrol for the car and servicing the car, so all that is... WRONG.

Property prices skyrocketed due in part to private equity firms buying up any property they can get their hands on and then renting them out at extortionate prices. And on top of that, you've got the current fad of people thinking they're property developers, buying houses at auction, which cost far less than the market price, doing them up and then either renting them out, again for extortionate prices or renovating them, and then selling them on for a fat profit, robbing any first time buyers of getting on the property ladder, and we celebrate them for it by making tv shows about it.
Get rid of help to buy, get rid if shared ownership, get rid of Lisa, make it easier for landlords to he fined, bring in renters rights, let councils chose their own council tax on 2nd homes, tax large companies who own large swathes of properties. Make owning oroperty less glamorous
People buy too much instant gratification junk ,..Its the market ,,, " Free choice " driven by seductive advertising which doesnt lure people into living frugally for five years to get a deposit together..
If the banks only lent 3 times your combined wage or 3.5 for a single person then houses wont sell and therefore would have to be more affordable. Mind you if the government can support waves of migrants then why cant they issue 0% mortgages.
I think his assessment is wrong because when you speak to the bank or a mortgage advisor, everything is geared on you taking the maximum that you're offered.. if you don't like we didn't, they look at you like you're stupid.. or maybe its more annoyance because they get commission on the mortgage.. so you're ruining their holiday plans..
Why equate housing to investment when there are better investment products? The issue is access to affordable housing like cheaper rentals. You just need a bigger supply to lower prices.
Somehow, they managed to avoid talking about single most important reason why property values are artificially inflated - restrictive land zoning policies and building restrictions imposed by city planners
House are no more expensive since 1970s pound per pound. Except couples had kids. Didnt spend on holidays, cars or starbucks coffees. Kids now will not cut back luxuries to buy. Spend month to month with no savings. Everything into pension funds.
You cant walk away from the housing market, thats the problem. And now we’re told we cant fix it because of all the idiots who have taken on mortgages they cant really afford assuming their house would increase in value. I brought a house and i dont really care if it goes up or down in price. I plan on living here and paying off my mortgage.
