Full disclosure: I am by no means a full expert on all subjects covered in each video, but I aim to present information based on personal and vetted research from scholars/experts in the field of history (not necessarily always academics).

malagasy asian ancestors have a similar DNA as present day banjar people living in south kalimantan, a mixed population between malay and maanyan tribe .... not javanese or malay sumatrian people.

I actually was surprised, as I was expecting the video to have many inaccuracies given the title (Jayavarman VII wasn't the first Buddhist king, but I didn't hear you say that he was in the video, just the title seems misleading). I'm a balinese myself, the other reason on why balinese still retain thier religion is that in our culture we believe, if we leave our faith and tradition that means we leave our ancestors to the brink of darkness, and that the atmas or the souls of our ancestors, or us in the future can't find or cannot break from the chain of samsara. I’m Cambodian but ethnicity is Khmer-Mon = Khom = Thai with 39% DNA bloodlines from this group; but somehow I respect Lao people more than Thai. I used to marry to a beautiful Lao girl once.
