You think the guitarist from dire straights has the whole spectrum? I mean he’s written 2 good songs in his entire career. Really really good guitarist but no one wants to listen to anything he plays except money for nothing and sultans of swing. Very awesome guitar in those songs though.

It’s amazing and motivation for me to play even more. What does your practice consist of when you’re working on music, songs, and theory? What are you doing for ear training? I’m always open to others suggestions to become better at my craft. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Great advice. Love the way you described the need to be on the edge chaos. I am a huge Derek Trucks fan myself in part because that's kind of how I sense his playing...right on the edge. It's not all the time but enough of the time to keep it real.

One of my favorite bands of all time was a band Pat was in decades ago called Tiny Town...they made only one album, but it was a great album with great songs and stellar playing. One of the most solid drummers as well in Kenneth Blevins!
Guthrie, I am definitely NOT a hater - in fact I love you - but may I weigh in with a perspective that perhaps you haven't considered? Some combat veterans - including me - take exception to the wearing of camo because we view it as the glorification of warfare. It is a little upsetting to those of us who despise war and violence. I hope I have articulated this position with the utmost respect. As a more lighthearted aside, in the military we are not allowed to wear our "covers" indoors (unless under arms), so we tend to poke fun at people who do. Rock your baldness brother - chicks think it's hot! That's all I wanted to say, other than I love your lessons and I am in awe of your playing.

Guthrie, As player of 50+ years who is still trying to get better, each time I watch one of your video's I learn more. It seems like after watching a bunch of your video's about the cage system, now when I watch this video its all making sense now and its getting to be second nature to me when Im soloing....Each of your video's seems to be better than the last imo. IMO this is the best one yet. Please keep up the great work.....!!
