Very good to watch this as i have a 6 month old Wire called Bertie. If anyone can advise me i cant seem to find anything that tells me when to start stripping him propery up ti now ive only pulled a few long hairs out to see how he reacts, i gave him a bath when i got him 2 months ago and have clipped his nails but thats as far as ive gone and its now mod September. Help anyone!
Rough coats are made for this. It is hair that needs to be plucked out so new hair can grow and the follicles don’t get clogged. She’s take very few hairs at a time and It is not the least bit painful for them. My dog lies around while I strip small areas
I loved this instructional video! Very precise and understandable. I love the idea of letting my dogs lay down… I don’t know why I have never heard of that, they will both love it! Thank you!😊❤
I know I am a bit late to the party here but I just found your fantastic just found your videos! About 6 weeks ago we adopted a a 7-8ish month old rescue standard poodle with a pretty terrible background. He's afraid of strangers and flighty to the point that his first 'groom' was being shaved under sedation at the vet. I've been desensitizing him to grooming and we're getting there but he won't yet cope with going to a groomer. He's about due for another groom so I have been learning how to do it myself for now, my question is, can I bathe him, and then clip him bit by bit over a couple of days (so he doesn't get too overwhelmed) or does he need to be bathed and totally clipped on the one day? I know I'd need to do a lot of brushing and comb checking first either way. I read somewhere that clipping an unbathed dog will ruin the blade, the clippers, or both. I am more worried about him being comfortable than the clippers but I bought good ones so it would be nice if they lasted as long as possible!
Can you use a clipper with plastic combs. I say no to cut thru shih tzu. Recommend one for at hone between pro groomer session every 5 weeks. Mine is 7 lb imp shih tzu tiny flat face and tight body with flared paws. Asian fusion body not like yours in video.
Can plastic guard combs go thru shih tzu hair. I have a pro groomer. I was looking for a clipper to just trim tight body not flared paws. I pay for a groomer every 5 weeks.
This is great. I’ve learnt so much wow. Thank you! Can I ask a question- should I be giving full trips ( show) to my puppy to keep the wiery hair coming?
You are an incredible teacher! Is he a miniature or toy size? I am hoping to get my first poodle next summer and will be returning to these videos over and over.
I know this was posted some time back but thank you for this brilliant video. You are so clear and informative. Im in the UK and have a working cocker who has a beautiful coat but all the groomers local seem to prefer to clip and are very expensive. Ive been watching lots of videos to learn how but you are the best and easiest to follow. Thank you
