It would have been a lot cooler if I did have 3 beers at the turn! I hadn't played in a couple weeks and that usually doesn't go well for me lol. We went and played Quail Valley right after this for redemption but I didn't record that one.
Pretty solid. Sure, it's a little frustrating after the good front 9 but still a decent score. Course looked pretty nice. Thanks for sharing your round.
(this video randomly came on my feed today) Looked at the date, I was there 4 groups back of you. It took us 45 minutes to get to #2 tee box. Sat there waiting for 3 groups in front of us to finish 2nd hole. The reason was the local league (according to the staff) were notorious for taking 6-7 hour rounds. I almost put myself back to the tips just to be able to tee off to let groups get ready to hit their tee shots. 8th Hole - PAR 3 - a 4some quit because of how much waiting was going on. Back 9 NO ONE was there so it was better. The amount of rain checks Musket wrote that day must have been insane. No one that was ahead of me or behind me continued passed 9th hole. It was a pretty big failure of marshalling pace of play that day.
That's crazy! I remember we had to wait maybe 15 minutes just to get a cart. We flew through the first hole and found multiple groups waiting to tee off on the 2nd. It's an incredible golf course, we just picked the wrong day! Thank you so much for watching!
I lived in Cockeysville, MD when I first started playing golf and played Pine Ridge many many times. I haven't played there since I started recording for the channel but it's on the list for the fall!
You could try Rich Valley, Cumberland Valley, Carlisle Barracks. Want a cheap course n getting better....Meadow Brook outside Gettysburg. Caledonia Golf between Gburg n Chambersburg. South Mountain Golf....its only 9 holes but you can play 18 from differnt tee boxes...its in the middle of state forest
None of the long commentary between shots, which I love the most. I live in the South Central PA as well, and love your vids! Relatively new subscriber. Watched your Cool Creek Vlog, and went to play there that following weekend. Fun course! Keep the vids coming. ⛳️
I played Pine Ridge all the time before COVID but haven't made a trip back. It's almost always booked up solid but hopefully I can get there this fall!
Haha yeah! I think it's helping! It feels like some of the range balls at HH are dead when you hit them but I'm more worried about making good contact. Mayapple Golf Club from Carlisle, PA is up next!
@@dumpygolf I agree with you, 100% that the Heritage Hills balls are dead. I also think the Toptracer is a little off with distance but of course the range is uphill so that probably has an effect. Looking forward to the Mayapple video!
P.B. Dye golf courses are pretty special. I really want to play Iron Valley and the courses at Nemacolin in PA some day! The next courses up are Mayapple in Carlisle, PA and Crossvines in Poolesville, MD. Thanks for watching!
Love PB Dye, the front 9 got switched to the back 9! Soooooo which did you play haha. The new front 9 is much easier. The back 9 now has a brutal stretch with the par 3 and that par 5 with the tree right smack in the middle of the fairway. hope all is well!
We started here on the new front 9. I heard they switched because of that brutal stretch of holes that was causing pace of play issues. Thanks for watching!
You stand too far away on your full shots and thus fall off balance which you either let it out right or you overcompensate and pull it left. Try standing just an inch or 2 closer on your full shots.
Thank you for watching and for the advice! This video was from last year and I've been trying to stay more balanced. PB Dye Golf Club is up next and it's going to be a good one!
@@dumpygolf Cool. I've played LP and thought it was great, but yeah I've always heard stories of 6 hour rounds. Haven't played Oak Creek yet and was just curious. Thanks for the video.
Hey Tyler! I would probably make it me and ItalyChicken (the dude I play with most of the time) if I went the 2 man route but we'll see what happens as we grow! Thank you so much for watching!
It's funny, most people say the opposite. I'm usually too far and reach for the ball but I've been trying to stay more on my heels and trust the swing. Thank you for watching!
@@dumpygolf yeah that was sarcasm. You are objectively way too far from it, and being on your heels only makes it worse. I imagine you hit driver better than a pitching wedge.
@@dumpygolf looks like you’ve played most of the local ones to me. Are you from MD? There’s Black Rock, Rattlewood, Challedon, it would even be kinda funny to see you play Maple Run up in Thurmont, but it used to be way better before this dorky new owner bought it
I'm from Baltimore County but I moved up to York County, PA a few years ago. I usually play with my friends who are mostly in MD. I haven't played Black Rock yet, but it's on the list. We played Maple Run this year so those videos are on the channel! They have motorcycles that you can rent instead of golfcarts and they make it a pretty fun and unique experience.
