When you do the fast tapping part in the solo (2:14), how do you keep the other strings from ringing out and muddying the tone? When I try recording that part in a DAW it doesn't sound as clean even though it sounds fine through an amp.
Awesome job, killed it! I love when you include the solos. I believe the solo is played one string set higher so 5 frets lower. Unbelievable that you got it so clean up there! I can't get the tapping notes ring well up in the 24th fret. It also makes the fretting easier because then everything is on the same fret on the string pairs instead of having to go one higher or lower on the A-G string pair.
I heard this cover, first time hearing the song, absolutely love it. So im thinking of getting a new guitar, do they usually play on a 7 string guitar?
Random comment, but I LOVE how Matt Halpren sneaks in those ghost notes during the verse. They add so much to the song. Amazing cover btw! And to do it on a Squire is even more incredible
