I have the small toaster oven type. But you could do these in a basket fryer too just make sure to toss halfway thru so there are no raw parts.

Yes they do! I place mine on a rack over a baking sheet lined with foil so that the air can circulate and the fat drips off.

I used a temp of 450 F for 20 minutes on my air fryer but everyone's will cook differently. I have had some people cook at this temp and find they burn so I would recommend perhaps starting at 450F but then check them in 5 minutes to see how they are progressing. You want them to be starting to get crispy before flipping them. Just like sweet potato fries they will burn quickly so again keep watch.

I have never made this recipe with anything other than cornstarch but arrowroot might be a good alternative to try. Please let me know how they turn out if you do give it a try with arrowroot powder.

Thanks for your feedback. Every oven cooks differently and I have a large air-fryer so perhaps it cooks less quickly. I have adjusted the temperature to bring it down as well as included a note to this effect so that others will be reminded to keep an eye on their fries and that cooking times may vary.

Extra virgin olive oil is not an air fry-friendly oil due to its low smoke point, but extra light olive oil can be used for air frying because of its high smoke point. ... For best results brush on lightly or spray an even coat of cooking spray made from these oils.

I am sorry this happened. Everyone's oven bakes differently some hotter and others cooler so I have added a note in the comments to keep an eye on them during the last 10 minutes of baking so this does not happen again. I do hope you give them another try and thanks for bringing this to my attention.
