After my experiences in the NZ Army I don't trust any bravery award stories and that's sad because I loved the Army (the first time I served 92-00), I have no doubt about Jamies award he is up front and trustworthy but the others I mentioned would crumble under the scrutiny of their lies
another guy who got a Bravery award was a guy last name of Cheater he was NZSAS himself he was in 2/1 RNZIR at the time and he actually fled from the Lenoard Manning Contact and was awarded the Bravery award because it was a huge stuff up and it was our first KIA since the Vietnam war, Sgt Moohan was the man directly responsible they guys told him how many they were tracking and he told them to keep going even though they knew they were outnumbered they doctored the contact report to award the medal to Cheater this decision was made by the Brass to cover up the stuff up don't believe everything you are told often it's not true

The Top Brass was going to award the Captain in Charge of that contact in Afghanistan where NZ had 3 KIA he was ex NZSAS himself, but his leadership was directly responsible for those 3 deaths and he should have, never have been in command of the QRF in the first place i had a Kiwi veterans page at the time and guys that were actually in the contact, contacted me via messenger about what happened a few days after the contact i contacted the RSM of the army so the captain wasn't awarded the VC he was awarded a different medal, this Captain was ejected from the NZ SAS due to his "Glory Hunting" another one hushed up by the NZ Army

The NZSAS went into Afghan on multiple trips between ‘01 - ‘12. From 2009 they helped and mentored the Afghan Police CRU on COIN Ops in Kabul. The NZDF also has a PRT in the Bamiyan Province between ‘03 - ‘13. All 3 Branches of the NZDF sent personnel on these Rotations
