Lost my 50/50 but didn't give up and rolled for her another time and I got her in 53 pulls also nice video! really helped me build her a lot better cuz i was getting 90 only basic atk dmg
I’m got her in 30 pulls she is level 60 but I need to farm her echos in order for her to be stronger the grind is long especially for the 5 star weapon not her signature one I’m saving my weapon pulls
Teams aside, im not quite sure if i built my lingyang right. My lingyang is running 2 glacio 2 atk+. Stat wise, i built him crit rate2 and atk% for the rest. Echos are 44111. Lvl 60 Crit rate: around 50~ Crit dmg: around 160~ Atk: is 1200 flat I wanted to put in more focus on the crit rate and raw atk damage. The theory here is that crit always = big damage always. Considering i didnt put in the effort to build for more glacio damage, should i reconsider?
i think 44111 is perfectly fine, im not sure if its better than 43311, but the reason element dmg bonus is so good is because it boosts non crits as well and is much easier to get a big % increase compared to crit, which you have to kind of get good stat rolls for. I cant really say for sure because im not much of a math / calculation guy, but i think its way more consistent to increase non crit stats first + element dmg, and then worry about getting a nice crit ratio afterwards
Im probably going to use him in the overworld and as my third team in ToA, already got a crit rate Lampylumen Myriad with crit rate, crit damage and energy regen and i have the Abyss Surges for him, and hes fun to play

I really don't care the meta from this game, I have fun with this game, something I haven't had in a while with Genshin, i love Lingyang gameplay and his quest. This guide will help me a lot. +1 sub
I love the Idea of him, but he was my first and I just struggle. His Forte seems too short for open world fights, but his ult is overkill for those and he cant interact with a lot of things while hes in the air so I always have to wair for the ult to end. And during Boss battles I struggle a LOT with dodging and parrying with him while he is in Lion state. Also sometimes lion state is just clunky and misses, or randomly switches targets in open world, even if they are behind me. Maybe all of this is a me issue, because I do love the character himself. Does anyone have a tip on how to make it feel better?
To give you some peace of mind the camera targeting system is low-key terrible, especially when enemies are spread out. It can get frustrating a lot so that's just something you have to bear with. You can also just switch out if you need to interact with something while he is in his forte state there is no problem in doing that. As for dodging while in the air, just gotta practice. You can only dodge once in the air and that's universal for all characters so you just gotta practice with him. Have patience, having one dodge is not the end of the world. As to parrying idk how your struggling with that, he's a parry god in his base state and forte state. Maybe slow down how fast you're washing his basic attacks, his base skill can also parry if I remember (you can test this to make sure) correctly, not too sure about his forte state skill.

I dont know how I have been too stupid to just switch out so far xD I was in a fight against the tempest mempthis and when I was in the Lion stride stance I started doing his normal attacks and I always just got hit out onto the ground and had to go back up into the air just to get hit back out again. It felt like I even though I was mid multi-hit, the parry didnt come though at all. I will try again later today, and test a bit, I'll try to reply after testing around a bit.
@@xivsilvas1917No problem! I also experience that as well, you kinda need his S1 to get rid of that issue because it helps a lot. If you can't tho the best you can do is practice dodging in his forte state and having patience since you can only dodge once in the air compared to the double dodge on ground.
@@blueharnet6225 Hi again, I have tested a little against the two memphis' and so far it feels like with the first hit of the lion stride stance you have to be earlier than with other characters so thats just practice, but when you are mid multi hit feels like a 50/50 if the parry connects or not. So yes it seems like practice and patience with him indeed are key. I feel like they should change it so he has more than one dodge though, would make it easier to choose your parries better.
Loved the guide! I was having a bunch of fun already on him and decided to watch a guide so I can have a better understanding on him, and my dmg output increased immensely! :) It wasn't until the end of the video where I noticed that your mellow voice sounded AWEFULLY FAMILIAR, and the pfp reminded me a little bit of another character that really hunting and adapting. 👀👀👀 Are you who I think you are?
very good guide. Enjoyed the chill vibes and there is very little unnecesary info. I would like if for future guides you could include maybe 1-2 alternatives for team comp or a weapon for the unlucky who cant get 4 stars XD. Otherwise, amazing vid. I like the combat demonstration. @@JustWutheringWaves that's what i thought too cause he's been my main dps since day 1 and i dont have a problem with dodging. Maybe it was a closed beta test problem
He can only dodge once in his forte, that's a fact. However, those people have a skill issue and don't have patience. He recovers fast from his dodges, just gotta time them correctly and there's almost no difference from his dodging on the ground.
Man, I got Lingyang from the beginner 40 pulls, and at first I didn't quite like him - he seemed too basic and boring for me, but as soon as I got to learn how to utilise the team, i started jugglin them enemies in the air, and that was when I was sold for Lingyang. Also he's perfect with ma girl sanhua, and she's the reason I'm playing this game on English (god damn her VA did a good job)

As the other comment said, his skills adds so much damage during Forte...I could be wrong but maybe Taoqi can be a good buffer for Lingyang. I mean, she has the same buff as Sanhua but for skill instead of basic atk So many DPS are based on basic attack rn so freeing Sanhua for them could be good in contents like ToA
yeah taoqi is most likely the next best pairing, but from my experience she takes a bit longer to set things up compared to sanhua. still pretty good though
@@JustWutheringWaves kinda depends...if using her intro skill, she is pretty fast, but if not she need to do her parry or wait 2.5 seconds to do it automatically, so yeah
I really love Lingyang. I pulled for him with my 5-star selector, and I will definitely be taking the Abyss Surges when I get the weapon selector from increasing Union Level.
pretty solid guide, but the rotation is a bit off. Lingyang mains found that 130% ER is the baseline for this strat to work: Build Verina's concerto, swap to Sanhua and build her concerto, Lingyang's intro skill builds 40% gauge, ontop of his liberation which builds 60% gauge, meaning when entering combat he gets 100% forte gauge. But you want to start building your liberation quickly, so you use echo before using forte. After using forte your liberation gauge should be at about 40%. This is where the 130% ER comes into play, by doing your verina > sanhua rotation correctly Lingyang will come back onto the field with just barely enough charge to cast Liberation again, giving him free forte and repeating the combo. Also during forte it does the slightest tad of more damage to weave a resonance skill between each basic attack (only has 2 in forte not 5 like in basic form). The dmg buff is insignificant, but when you unlock the UL40 skill ascensions it will make it so every basic attack boosts his resonance skill by 100% in lion form. So weaving your resonance skill between every basic will add to a huge dps increase. sorry for nerding out just been working on optimization guides for lingyang
Thanks for this! Yeah I realised after I made this that there's more efficient ways of using the forte because of how much his intro / liberation build the meter, I appreciate the information
One thing to add is he gains 60% of his Forte bar when he ults. He gains 40% of his Forte Bar with his intro skill. So you could use his maxed Forte bar, swap to Sanhua, buff him, swap back and ult and he will get another full Forte Bar immediately. Its just something to keep note of while playing him. He can get 100% bar from zero if his ult is up or almost up, on a Swap.
@@skennylegend1835 I dont know if its the mathematical correct rotation but it does let you use a full Forte bar. You will get 100% bar from zero when you swap back in the example you gave me. So I've personally been just using my Forte bar first if its full, because otherwise I'm wasting it. Generally using that full forte bar builds up your outro anyways, and then you swap to Sanhua, buff, swap back to Ling Yan, and can press R and you are 100% from 0 on your Forte bar. I honestly cant tell you if this is the best rotation or not but it does keep you from wasting an entire forte bar which is pretty good damage even if its not buffed. if you watch his video during his rotation part, you can see him sitting on a full forte bar while building up his ult. I feel like that is a waste of the Forte Bar because the ult will give him 100% when he swaps back anyways.
Yep I do this and it's honestly really good, you can also use your echo first then your forte. Because of this when you switch back to Sanhua to buff him it'll be available again when you switch back to him. The only downside to this rotation is that he may not be able to utilize Verina or Baizhi buffs to the fullest on his second forte bar but if you're good at dodging this shouldn't be a problem 😅
