The story of the rise of this car in Australia is an interesting tale and how the relative location of the Bathurst 1000 ( 2 hours west of western Sydney ), the rise of car hoon culture in western Sydney in the 1970s, 80s and 90s and the arrival of eastern creek raceway in 1990, smack in the heart of western Sydney guaranteed the Holden Commodore's future legacy as a high performance V8, initially the first Commodore ( 1978 ) just a large to mid size family 4 door sedan. Like Chevrolet, Holden was an affordable brand. the shear volume of Commodores on the road keep repair cost Etc low and plenty of us have owned a Commodore or another Holden at some stage. Due to our limited population there has never been a need for 5 or 6 options in the saloon sedan category. we originally had 3 ( Holden, Ford and Valiant ) in the 70s but by the 80s only Holden and Ford remained. this set the stage for a 40 year plus tit for tat battle at Bathurst, Commodore VS Falcon. The Bathurst 1000 offered us the racing modified versions of these two cars, enjoying the market majority of the muscle car market, enabling progressive high performance divisions HSV and FPV. I guess what i'm saying is these cars are cherished and a part of the Australian identity. I see your Pontiac GTOs, G6's and G8's and Chevy SS as family like cousins overseas. It's just a shame they didn't give you guys the 4 door version of the Pontiac GTO - the Commodore VT. and of course HSV models that have always been a limited run with each series. Great channel ;).
You guys are Awesome ! It's only right that the best muscle cars Australia ever produced, with the help of American v8 power should be loved and shared in both lands. It's just a shame HSV didn't have a branch in the US.
Big thumbs up from down under the only thing that ruins the look of the cars is the g8 front bumper if they had the Australian front bumpers they would look absolutely awesome
so since u have it on a switch u dont have to use brake pedal? u can use just the switch? meaning while in gear with 2step on it can redline on the 2step
bro so i watched a lot of your ats videos as i was building my own. i now have fbo zzp stage 1 on mine and its a blast! inspiration from your videos! i remember hearing you say you live in pasadena, you still local? would love to do some pulls
Yooo bro love the videos! Just a question I had since you work at a chevy dealership. I have a 2022 chevy rst 1500 the regular one before the refresh look. I was wondering can the hood that you put on yours from a trail boss fit the old body look!?!
The Holden brand is cool and all but personally, I’ll stick with the Pontiac brand fr…. Just outta respect for the brand and car but I will grab something’s off of them… Just a little biased
