Hi for your shortcut, I'm having a hard time understanding, is this done through UCAS? or is the shortcut calling the school before the list of clearing courses are released? thanks x When would I call them - on results day or prior to this?
@medwithtem

Hey! The shortcut I described was done by calling the school before the list of clearing courses are released officially on the UCAS website. This would be on results day immediately when you receive your results to maximise your chances of success. I'm planning to make an updated video about the clearing process before 2024 results day but please let me know if you have any more questions before then x

Can you appeal for clearing and will unis accept if you got below c for all a levels? Are they(uni) gonna ask for you grade when you call?
@saimahorwhatever
@saimahorwhatever 3 месяца назад
unis tend to fill up the clearing spaces with a 'first come first serve' policy- so idk if you can appeal, unless you let them know in advance that you're getting a grade appealed. Also, yes they do ask for grades when you call up.
@medwithtem
@medwithtem Месяц назад
Hey! Yes as kindly answered by @saimahorwhatever clearing spaces tend to go quite quickly on a 'first come first serve' policy so I'm not sure how an appeal would work. Also, it really depends on the course you're applying to and the requirements to whether those grades would be accepted

@medwithtem
@medwithtem Год назад
When you initially ring them up they don’t tend to ask any specific questions like that, in my case they didn’t anyway. You just explain that you want to apply for a place then they will ask you for things like your personal details and also GSCE and A-level results to determine if you’re eligible for the next stage. This will depend depending on the university but personally I had to complete a maths test, a Roles and Responsibility form and have an interview for Sunderland

@medwithtem

@@bellastarmartin4601 No worries at all! It's more to do with how competitive the course is rather than the actual university and if an interview was required for the students that got an offer via the non-clearing route.
