The lighting and fixed camera position helped a ton, especially step by step so I could repeat in my head while doing it , used the wire method as well! Thank you @theapplianceman!
With the help of this excellent video did this job a year or so ago. Zero leaks since then. Spanner tool was not available anywhere so I made my own. Most time consuming part of the job was the seal removal. Took about an hour; it was stubborn and I took it slow. No $90 tool necessary. Thank you very much Senor Acevedo for sharing your knowledge, and also for your Service to our Country.
Can water leak into agitator tube seal right below agotator? Mine leaks into the clutch and i think it gets so wet it will have slow spin. When it doesn't leak it will spin dry the clothes well. Also, when it leaks the tub brake lets the tub coast down on shutoff...ineffective brake. If I don't use the washer for a week the tub brake works (dry?)
I watched 2 of your outstanding videos to fix my dryer. The drum wasn't spinning. It turned out the idler arm pulley was seized, and it wrecked the belt. $65 for the parts, your expertise, and some elbow grease saved me a fortune on a repair call. Thanks for all your help.
Thank you so much. This 68-year-old woman just repaired her own dryer. The hardest part was trying to find a wire hanger in my house. Your step-by-step instructions helped save me a maintenance call. The install of the belt took less than 1 minute. I spent the next 10 minutes trying to line up the latch and holes on the front panel. Again, thank you.
Yep, I can do this! This is one of the best and simplest instructional videos I've ever seen. Thanks for putting in the tidbit about holding the drum in place. That's the point I probably would have started cursing. 🤬 😊
Just wanted to thank you, if you hadn't shown me that trick to hold up the drum, I am not sure I could have pulled this off, I was having a heck of a time. That made it very easy.
Brother I like the robot voice but I love your original voice it demonstrates that people of all nationalities want to contribute in helping our society and others worldwide. Thank you
Here's how to find the chapters in this video: 0:00-0:28 What to Check When the Washer Won’t Spin Properly (Diagnosing the problem) 0:28-1:57 How to Check the Spinning Speed 1:57-6:28 How to Check the Door Switch with a Jumper Wire 6:28-7:36 Replace Thrust Bearing 7:36-9:51 Remove Tub & Transmission Together 9:51-12:47 Replace Transmission 12:47-End Re-Install Tub & Transmission It's an excellent video. I wish more were put together this well.
I followed this by pulling the door switch up front but causing the switch to disintegrate. Now I have to buy a new switch. The rest of the tutorial videos I've seen on YT are to pull the front panel and remove the wires behind the panel. I have added an additional repair cost to the broken dryer 😢
recommend placing a hose clamp (#40) on washer tub to hold the tub seal in place. Go to all that work and if you don't install a hose clamp - the seal can come loose and water runs all over tranny and bearing and you end up with complete re-do of all your work.
So painful to watch just remove the wires from the rear of the door switch, it literally takes 10 seconds to take them off and 10 seconds to put them back on. There's no need to remove the door switch and feed the wires through.
