One of the best ever bands that hardly anyone knows about. Both live and on record. I now feel extremely lucky to have seen them back then. Truly ahead of their time, but timeless.
@@TomSFlint yes. Steve and Mark Linnet produced Land of Opportunity. Steve didn’t like the original title - There’s a Wound Where Life Should Lead, or the first two lines of the second verse, so he said, “How about this?” And we agreed.

Back in 1986, neo-country was set to explode as albums by the Rave-Ups, BoDeans, Long Ryders, Beat Farmers and EIEIO, among others, had come out in rapid-fire fashion. I bought them all, looking for just one band that could bring some legitimacy to the genre and EIEIO was the only album that moved the needle for me and still does to this day.
