Hi! Thanks so much for watching- yes if you want the highlights a light brown I’d go with honey bush teas or a light coffee mixed e chamomile. It also depends on your natural hair color :-) and you can buy a light brown henna too. Just try and get organic when you can. I will have more soon. Take care!
Hi aw thank you so much! It makes me truly happy you enjoyed it. Looks like you can have the same color or close to it! Let me know if it worked for you. God bless!
Thanks for the input. I appreciate constructive criticism in all forms. We have a full length video of how we make nectar. This was just a quick short showcasing our excitement of seeing more hummingbirds.
Wow! Wow! Wow! They say Chicago is a VERY clean City"" 👌 And it does look very clean and beautiful Chicago has a lot of Wonderful SKYSCRAPERS and SKYLINES 🏙 that is simply UNMATCHED. No other city in the United States can come close to Chicago's Wonderful SKYSCRAPERS and SKYLINES.
Hello, can I ask a question? I want the red color. What are the materials that are added with henna, how much, and does it need fermentation after kneading it and how long does it remain on the hair for the hair color to become red?
Hi of course and thank you for watching! :-) I mix my henna to get rid of the bubbles (w out metal by the way) for a good few minutes - the consistency and thickness should be like a pudding or a yogurt. There are many different shades of red and you can use beets like I did you can use teas like I did and you can buy good pure henna as it already by itself is red in color (Lawsonia Inermis). How long depends on your hair texture and color - I typically have it on my hair for about 3 hours total. My video does mention some of the details as well. :-) let me know how it turns out!
Hi thank you so much for your comment and questions and thank you so much for watching! I don’t measure much because different henna requires different measurements, but here is a good rule of thumb that I think you’ll like - Amla about 2 tablespoons - tea and coffee I mix together to get the desired color I want and then I add it to the henna - about 1 cup to each package of henna powder - and if I want a stronger highlight- i mix a stronger color first before adding to the henna. I hope that makes sense - let me know if that doesn’t help
Absolutely! I would say for blonde highlights you can add nourishing chamomile (lemon juice is drying so please use lemon juice w caution) I wouldn’t use that but I totally would go with chamomile or a beautiful yellow pau d arco tea. Thanks for watching. Let me know what you go with!
That s beautiful!i ve tried blonde henna cause i m blonde but my gray in the front is still gray i think i ll give up!i m sure it s my hair they re difficult i ve tried perm 4 times in different salon but they stayed straight and the dye didn t cover the gray!kisses from Greece!
Thank you for watching and I love it ❤️ wow from Greece! Sending big hugs to you. Yes it sounds like you may need to go a shade darker w henna. It’s an enhancer so blonde henna on blonde hair won’t really have the best results I would think. If you were to use a light brown or a darker shade of the blonde it may actually color it. It’s also okay to embrace the gray too. ☺️ I’ll do some research and see if maybe there is an alternative for you. Thank you for making me smile 🙏
I use henna on my hair. Please use pure henna powder, you can change the orange color of henna by mixing tea (dark brown) or coffee (coffee brown) or beetroot for dark red color. If you use indigo after henna, you can get black hair.
I tried brown and it didnt cover it!the rest of the hair was ok until the next day that i took a bath!my sister in law uses the same henna and it covers everything!but she has thin hair.Thank you for answering me you re so sweet!
The International Hummingbird Society says you don’t have to boil the sugar and water unless you’re going to store it in the refrigerator. I always make mine fresh I never store it in the refrigerator. Just want to put that out there you can look it up on their website.
Thanks for watching and for sharing. I think that’s great especially if you’re making it fresh and you’re not having to refrigerate it. I refrigerate mine because I’ve got a ton of feeders and I make large batches and so for me it is easier to refrigerate it even though I don’t refrigerate it for very long because I do like to keep it fresh. Stay tuned. I’ve got some more videos coming soon. Again thanks for watching and for sharing - PS- we love love love the international hummingbird Society!!!
there is a lot easier way to do this. 1 cup sugar + 4 cup water (i use filtered) in a 1.4l bottle (i use the large kombucha bottles), mix by shaking, use when clear (1-2min). refrigerate rest for later. no waste of energy, time, and not a lot of dishes to wash. i am lazy🙂
I assume it will. I don’t have a full head of gray hair, but I am predominantly gray at the crown and it fully covers. I can do some research to see if it would cover, but I’m pretty sure it does. Stay tuned for my next video coming out in the next day or two. Thank you for watching and as always feel free to ask any questions.
Yes that’s very true you can darken it with other things like black coffee and or black tea and it will act as an enhancer to the grey. I’ll have to research that. 😉
The second step is the indigo bag w senna and it typically comes in the box for this one. If you are not using this brand the second step would be a mixture of indigo powder mixed w senna bit I’ve never mixed the two together before independently--
This is a great question. It sent me down a research rabbit hole because I had never heard of it ( that’s a good thing). lol. We personally would not use it. I consider myself an avid researcher and in this case simple and clean is better for these beautiful birds. There aren’t enough papers out there to justify for me that copper sulfate…is within the natural range of copper found in hummingbirds’ diet. Ex. I don’t trust things that preserve my food for one to two weeks to prevent the natural molding process. That’s not how nature works. Thanks for the great question. It keeps us on our toes.
Thank you for advocating for our hummingbirds and showing how to correctly mix and feed hummingbirds. I too try my best to educate others on proper feeding and cleaning❤❤ It's what my channel is about
What brand would you recommend? I have not started henna yet but want to stop box dyes and try henna, but idon t want red hair or too dark brown.i currently am dark blonde and like it i could go light brown but not darker.thanks for your advice and recommendations.
Thanks for watching and the great question. I like to tell people interested in using Henna that it is not the same as how box color works, instead it works in tones. For example - henna tones vary on the natural color of your hair. Using pure henna alone will result in a red tone as that is the color of henna itself. Indigos are added to the mix to tone the reddish color down and make hair appear darker. Henna can darken hair or maintain your current color. It doesn’t change the structure of the hair. There’s a color chart that will show “if your hair is this color, then using (whatever color the henna is) will make it this” and that’s how I go about it. This is a great chart you can use and if you notice it will say when the color will have a conditioning effect only and will not have a “color change” All henna is different though but this should give you a general idea. www.mehndiskinart.com/henna_color_chart.htm
this brand isn't in my country but what plant/s are in the second bag please. 1st bag was 100% henna, so second bag henna and something else? or only something else? thanks
Thanks so much for reaching out. I apologize for taking so long to respond to your inquiry. The first bag is pure henna and the second bag consists of indigo and senna.
@@CATryIt-jz4rc People should be advised that the indigo is a blue color that is permanent and will not come out. If a person bleaches their hair later on to remove the henna, the gray will all end up very blue.
Doesn't work well on me, lasted 1 week before the greys showed again! I have frizzy, thick 4c Afro hair and the dreaded hot roots! Best for hot roots and Afro grey hair is Afro black powder hair I-Can dye, the best moisturising hair dye is Schwarzkopf Live hair dye. Best hair dye for dry curly hair! Henna can be good for dry hair but I have tried Indigo powder, the dye didn't last! I have tried coffee, tea with henna but hot roots don't keep the dye colour! Best cheap solution is Black/ brown hair dye spray, hair mascara, hair dye wax pens and sometimes cheap black waterproof mascara! Level 3 black hair gel and Creme of Nature black Edges hair gel can cover grey roots fast! Keratin conditioner restores softness to 4c dry hair! Hope this helps! UK 🇬🇧 8.9.24
That’s awesome information. Thanks for sharing. This is a great read on hot roots if you’re interested in it. www.madison-reed.com/blog/what-are-hot-roots-anyway
I have been watching all your videos. I know a couple people with RU-vid channels and honestly I like yours the best of anyone I know personally trying RU-vid.
