i have sprint booster on my 2009 srt8 challenger. bd diesel throttle boosters on my ram and grand cherokee. i tell people if you only do one thing go with a throttle booster to take out the lag in the throttle with the electronic throttles. i cannot drive any of my hemis on factory tuning-there is so much of a big difference. many programmers have a throttle booster but only up to 20%. a throttle doesnt increase power-it just allows you to enjoy throttle like we used to have.
This is a video I s been lookin for this whole time. Funny it pops up once I go into RU-vid. Man I just put ages one of these few weeks ago & I’ve had it in for a few weeks now. Awesome I must say it works great. I have the old version tho. I was wondering is the old versions only for the older cars or can I purchase the “V3”?. Mine only gets up to 60% from what I have & read in the instructions. I have it on race mode level 9. I love it tbh.
@@masterchief370 why would anyone call it click/wer?? Why do they call the tow/haul button a ect button on a tacoma? Idc what they call it, id use that when its necessary to cut power. And thats all eco essentially means, cutting power.. which would theoretically help with fuel economy. Anyway around it my money is going to sprint booster. Im just saying the eco mode is not useless.
Injen advertises , improves mpg by slowing down response.( Economy mode ). Does the original do the same All I want to do is save fuel Thoughts, besides don't buy a truck if you want to see a fuel economy!
The fact is, the factory response is already delayed. So slowing it down doesn’t make a lot of sense. I will say this using a sprint booster in green level and driving modestly will already save you gas mileage. When you don’t have to depress your gas more than you actually need to, you willLove save gas. Right now you push the gas 50% just to go 30% therefore wasting more gas in each cylinder. All that gas just goes out the tailpipe.
@@masterchief370 The bank guys arguments that his Superior because if there is a malfunction that their gas pedal will not shut off. But in your demonstration you indicated that is not true.! The other argument is that you need to connect to the OBD to get the right amount of voltage. Otherwise if you plug anywhere else you're not getting the right amount. What do you think of this?
@@Ryan-yi6su first of all if there’s a malfunction, the ECU is going to see it and automatically put it in fail safe. Fail safe is going to stop you from driving the vehicle in most cases. Or it’s gonna reduce the power of making the car mostly in operable. So the fact that they’re pulling power from an OD to port to try to say that you won’t lose power is ridiculous. Again if there’s any disconnect, the ECU will see it and throw check engine light right away. pulling from an OD to port is not needed. Are they suggesting that the OBD to port has more power than the pedal? Because it’s the same amount of power being distributed throughout the vehicle. It’s just another fail point. And the fact that they have to stop, the function of their device when being put in reverse is a huge red flag. The fact is nobody in the history of vehicles had to do this even with a cable vehicle. So why does their device have to do this?
Sup every body name is peter i have a 2007 toyota tacoma v6 4x4 i have one in my truck for 8 years in red mod hall like a beast grean mod going in to traffic with big confidence yes its about 300 the low end power that is hiding becous of the factory settings im from hawaii big island new cars cant keep up with me is it worth it money down big yes im geting a other one for my 2013 jeep wrangler 6 speed lets gooo
Why does this Guy only have 659 subs. This is biased but very honest take on throttles. I drove a 99 Ranger for 20 years. It has this thing called a Throttle Cable. Weird I know. So when I wanted full throttle I pressed it to WOT. When I need 50% guess what. Well that is what I am looking for. I don't need a computer to guess what I want. I just needed it to give me what I asked for. Thanks for the Vid.
This guy is sponsored by sprint booster therefore not an honest review, plus he’s talking about this technology like as if it’s a top secret, NASA technology which is ridiculous because anyone who knows anything about Tuning knows that there are many companies out there that tune engines transmissions, and they’re all good , in other words, this guy is talking shit just in order for you to buy their product .. Eco mode will save you gas on sprint booster, but not on the other products only with us Lolol 😂😂😂😂 this guy is a joke. All these products do the exact same thing for all the dummies and the fools out there.
I was researching between the sprint booster, the pedal commander, and the pedal monster. I like the sprint booster over the pedal commander. However, I went with the pedal monster by Banks because I like the fact you plug it into the OB2 port and it also gets disabled in reverse. Thanks for a good video.
Pedal monster is an interesting unit to say the least. The fact that they have to lock out reverse when using their product speaks volumes. Never in the history of a owning a vehicle has any throttle cable been disabled when going into reverse. Why? Because you have a one to one ratio. The fact is is that paddle monster gives you more throttle than the percentage that your pedal is being depressed. So when you depress your gas pedal 10%, your throttle blade is opening 20%. It is exactly why, you have to disable reverse because it would be unmanageable. And using the OBD two port is only for power. That just makes it another issue when trying to access your ECUs information. Fact is Sprint Booster is plug-and-play and requires no additional wiring plugs for programming. And you can remove the controller once you set your desired level. Pedal monster is giving you less throttle control by taking away your 0 to 100% throttle travel. They do this, so it seems like you’re getting more bang out of the product. But in actuality they’re taking out the drive ability. This is just another gimmick in attempt to sell something that is inferior to the original design and inception of throttle control a.k.a. SprintBooster.
@@masterchief370 According to Banks Pedal Monster, the reason they went with using the OB2 is because other units tap off of the power on the pedal connector and could cause potential problems. I don't care about having to remove pedal monster to read ECU info. It is not really any different than removing sprint booster if you have to go to the dealership. Also upon failure of sprint booster, you will go into "limp mode" where pedal monster will not. Believe me, I am not knocking Sprint Booster. I think it is a good product. I would have bought it if I didn't come across pedal monster.
@@scottsmith7348 I just don’t understand why you would pick a product that is taking away drivability by refusing the ratio you originally had. Plus, the ECU will go into limp mode regardless off using the OBD2 port or not if the ECU sees an issue. That wouldn’t change anything . I’ve always kept the motto that simple is best. Adding more connections just adds more to the equations . Just a thought
Eco mode os very useful if you have very limited traction. Compare a vehicle in 4low that has a standard cabke throttle or a reduced sensitivity throttle
Factory throttle is already slow and delayed . It’s literally why this technology was invented by Sprint Booster . Making it slower just exasperates the issue and IMO make driving more dangerous and unpredictable. The fact remains that throttle cable have you a 1:1 ratio for years and people were able to modulate the throttle in poor weather conditions or ground conditions. Having control is what the driver needs💪🏼.
Hello can you make a VIDEO on How to take CLIP OFF the Throttle pedal ,as im want to BUY a Throttle Controller for my 2006 SUZUKI SWIFT SPORT- ZC31S as i got no idea about how it Unplugs from the pedal Thank you Sir, Amen
Interesting. Other devices I've seen tested just increase the voltage and open the throttle more for the same pedal movement rather than faster to the same position. People swear that's the only thing all these devices do and can't do more unless the ECU is tuned/ flashed
This is a very common issue with knockoff brands. They make it as cheap as possible and sell it at a premium price. Sprint Booster has a 3 year warranty and 30day money back guarantee
Would definelty be down for the Sprint Booster if had the $ but I have the Pedal Commander for 120$ so it's not too bad when comparing price and performance
funny enough , its weird pedal commander never shows what it looks like on a throttle body on display like this, sprint booster has been the only one to do this
Great Video! What would happen if this device fails while I am driving on the FWY? Will the car go into limp mode with zero throttle response? That is my worry as it if for my GF car. Thank you
I'm looking to add one to my RAM1500 3.0 EcoDiesel. Having trouble finding out if I need a specific one for a diesel engine or if I can use the same one as the 5.7 Hemi.
Most people I know run a tuner and a Sprint Booster. I’ve used a JB4 and Sprint Booster and on another car I’ve used a Diablo tuner. No issues at all and worked great together
This guy is a lying dbag... I guess if he records it, some morons believe it is true. The Sprint booster is ridiculously inept, while the pedal commander has an app, so you can hide the head unit, and you have tough control, whether on the amazing app, or on the head unit. As for his BS claim that you have to search around to where you were at, that is a complete lie. Pedal Commander does an amazing job, and a real company actually supports and continues to add tech to the product, while the blind setting nonsense, with the Sprint Booster, is nonsense. I have had this product on my last few Z06 Corvettes, my last few Escalades and a few other cars. No issues, and while you would typically find your favorite setting and leave it, changing the setting, and knowing exactly what it is, is easy, and obvious. The Sprint Booster, with the stupid name, and tiny little mouse look, is ridiculous. Don't waste your money. This guy is a complete liar. BTW, your throttle body has very little to do with your take-off. Oh, yeah, Pedal Commander has won 6 SEMA awards in a row. The Pedal Commander is a six-time SEMA award winner and holds CE, E24, ISO 9001, and ISO 140001 certifications, compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations. pedalcommander.com/blogs/garage/pedal-commander-receives-another-sema-award
Pedal commander is $100 more than your brand lol. Us Canadians get the shaft so much. Roar pedal $220 free shipping and it's about the same size as yours and is made in the US. You have to keep your price competitive.
I almost bought the Pedal Commander because i saw it on Tewards channel. Glad I saw this before I made a purchase. Excited to install my sprint booster when it comes in (free shipping!)
I heard a 100% biased review. I have had the Pedal commander since 2019 with zero problems and read the instructions on how to " properly" use it. there are 1000's of bozos who dont read simple directions on anything from putting together IKEA furniture to an electric toothbrush. If you had presented the products in an actual vehicle, tested them in a real world situation and showed the pros and cons of each ( aside from the true junk from china) and show objective results, not based on opinion or bits and pieces of info out of context, then you might be more believeable. Now gale Banks has a new one that supposedly is the New best one on the market. Give me a break. Marketing hype again.
They both do the same thing. It's just as easy to tuck away pedal commander controller as it is to tuck away or take off the sprint booster controller. Being first to market doesn't mean you're better. And no way does either one increase fuel economy. And eco mode with the pedal commander is indeed stupid. Just cuz PC is made in turkey doesn't mean it's lower quality. Where is sprint booster made? 😀
@@masterchief370 Thanks for your response. Trying to be helpful. Sprint-b/Pedal-c at times(in power setting) will put the vehicle in Limp Mode. Both devices draw power from the accel pedal circuit, at certain instances the device will draw more current causing a voltage drop, the car computer senses this as a problem and reacts. Unfortunately nothing to do with installation or fitment.
@@wlew3499 I have NEVER seen any issues with a Tacoma. Sprint Booster does not have issues with this fitment and there are no ECU issues. The small voltage draw to power to controller is mynute and not an issue. If you are having issues I would contact your dealer ASAP as they would probably replace the unit right away.
I've had my Sprint Booster on my '13 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R Spec for over a year. Never leave my driveway without it being engaged, does exactly what it says it does.
Pedal commander works and it's not awkward at all. The main problem is that it will eventually fail. Mine has done so twice now. They did fix it the first time but I have not tried again. I might. It does make a big difference on my modded Hellcat. The throttle response is insane but again it will fail
I'd say TRS-80 (Trash 80) If I Rember correctly the commadore 64 had a color card. Used both in school back in the day. I'll be installing the Sprint Booster in my Taco.
Good video the reinformative but I do have to say Sprint booster has been known to give most cars check engine light as pedal commander usually stays pretty well controlled in that area and have never had an issue reported unlike Sprint booster and two of my mechanics both recommended pedal commander over sprint booster for several reasons so in my opalways go pedal commander versus Sprint booster also about Eco mode if you have a car that have an actual eco button eco button does the same thing that a pedal commanders eco button does slows the response because if you know anything about cars The less throttle you give the better you are on efficiency another reason why pedal commander isn’t a better option for older vehicles that don’t have such button like eco or sport Plus the visual of being able to see what mode you have it in also the selector is not hard or confusing at all I don’t know why people look at videos created by people that are associated or connected to a company and expect a reliable and accurate review instead look for an average Joe that had both to give you the flaws and benefits of both devices
I love this thing....you can have a throttle bottle the size of a raccoon, if its slow to open, you're slow to go. I'm definitely getting better gas mileage due to the control of tip in.....the performance is on another level!!
I was going to invest in a Pedal Commander. After watching this video and understanding the difference. I'd rather go with a company that been around longer plus winning at SEMA. Sprint Booster it is... Thank you!!!👍
i will probably get the Sprint booster based off all the reviews for my car (c63 amg) but to be fair you didnt plug in the pedal booster to compare its responsiveness. Lets be fair, everyone that is getting one of these devices is only getting better throttle response (ie when you push the gas pedal the throttle should respond immediate mimicking how far you push the pedal), and thats it. Pedal Commander is probably fine, but i love how i can unhook and hide the Sprint Booster, thats your selling point right there that cannot be refuted.
