Nice !! Welcome to Triumph World For the Ride. I am happily riding Speed 400 from past 10 months. Visit my Channel if you want to know about All the Things for these 400's Engines
@@manliocrinelli7359 part number CR7EIX. Knocking or idling issue might not be directly related to the sparks. Better to have the bike checked by the service center.
@@AbhishekDaniel Ok thank you.. my bike has PowerTronic, a BMC Fiter ... and the original exhaust.. . In Europe this items are more expensive then your country, We have to pay extra taxes if we buy in India. Perhaps the original exhaust do not match with Power Tronic. Surely sound isn't so good..If you go to a Service Center and they see what we did ..
@@manliocrinelli7359 Stock exhaust is too restrictive. It negates the effect of BMC and PowerTronic. You can get Akrapovic or arrow exhaust for Himalayan outside India. I think Hitchcock in UK also makes exhaust for Himalayan. If not for the RE service centre, consult a third party one and do a diagnostic run down on why you are having the idling issue.
@@AbhishekDaniel Ok thankyou... great. I bought PowerTronic from Hitchcock ... but now is outside UE... and 4 Viaterra bags from India, because the price was under the maximum limit... In Italy we have Mass, Zard and GPR for 300- 500€ . I must have one ...Thanks and congratulations for your channel
I have been wathcing few 400 x videos. and i wanted to get some idea from you, Do you feel the need to have brakes changed and to what brand would you replace it with (suggestion)?
@@AbhishekDaniel do you think it's a bad choice...I have felt all the vibration like you said but it's manageable... Himalayan is not giving me a good vibe... scrambled 400x is really good I like it but I was tiptoeing with the bike so it's out of the option...
@@SF24Vlogs don’t wait for anyone’s validation. If you found adv is the best one for you, you should go for it. Don’t ride someone else’s choice. Ride your choice and you’ll be happy. After all buying a motorcycle is more of an emotional than a logical choice 🙂
I do touring with pillion all the time. The only purpose I will be buying a new bike will be for touring. I already own a TVS Ronin, which has been performing excellently and no issues as such. Thinking of an upgrade now Which bike will suit my case here? I was leaning towards the 390x, as I am unsure about the pillion comfort on the Scrambler 440x. Thoughts? Great Video btw.
You absolutely nailed it bud.All the points about all 3 bikes are bang on.6 months back i was test riding bikes looking to upgrade to a 350-400cc bike that could do a "One bike garage" job well. Like you said : KTM adv - too vibey and too lightweight. Himalyan 450 - no alloy ( utter disappointment from RE),too heavy just like other RE's,no low end torque( again sheer dissappointment and very unlike RE). Scrambler 400X - lightweight, good low end torque, great fit and finish, alloys.Riding it was such a charm. I test rode the Scrambler after booking the classic 350.Tried cancelling the booking but it couldn't be done since it was a custom booking under MIY with alloy wheels. Have been riding the classic for a while.Great low end torque and very stable. But a little too heavy for my liking and also runs out of gas too quickly. It starts getting uncomfortable at speeds of 70-80kmph.Will use the Classic for a while but then cant keep myself away from the Scrambler for too long. That will be my long termer.
I had a bullet before i moved to Himalayan. It never used to go above 80 kmph nevertheless I crossed 41000kms in 3 yrs with it. Thoroughly enjoyed the bike before I moved on to the Himalayan. So enjoy your classic for now. When the time comes to switch, the transition will be very sweet. 🙂
Namaste. Even though the RE has lot of reliability and service issues, people loved it for the low end torque. But the new 450 dont have that and it disappoints the RE owners. People are finding it in triumph 400 with better fit and finish. So this wins the segment.
I'm in the same confusion right now, I also took test drives of all 3 bikes and I feel the same! Thanks for the honest opinion on the Himalayan 450 and things no one is talking about specially big youtubers!
O man what a comparison. I just loved it . This is the first video i am feeling like interactive . I think everyone should learn from you how the videos and blogs should be ❤
Good review. I am also in lookout for a bike, but my need is pillion should be comfortable too. I understand you selected the scrambler but among these 3, which one do you think will be best for pillion comfort and fully loaded touring. I think both KTM and Himalayan 450 lacks low end torque I currently don't have a bike, and as most of us Indian, it will be my only bike.
I think you got a bad test bike in Himalayan 450. The new one is better than the old 411 in every way. When i test rode the 450 I did not experience the issues that you have mentioned. I also test rode the scrambler 400x and I have to say its a damn good bike. Maddening performance at the twist of the wrist , amazing low end torque to crawl through the city traffic , and its 185 kg weight definitely helps that. My only gripe with the scrambler 400x was the weak braking response and the poor mirrors. Also the wind blast was felt hugely on the 400x , but that can be solved with a good after market windscreen. I still think both 400x and 450 himalayan have different purposes. I will pick the 450 for just highway touring and long distance travel due to its amazing sitting posture and big fuel tank. It has a phenomenal suspension as compared to the scrambler 400x which I found capable but not as good as the 450 , especially the front one. Scrambler is good all-rounder especially for city use and also the highways. No wonder Bosky from Big Bear Customs sold his Vstrom 650 and got both 450 and 400x in his garage 😂 I think 450 is a good bike and worth a re-consideration. Cheers and Happy riding!
Thanks for the response. In my subsequent video on the 400X, i have addressed the concerns you mentioned. Triumph replaced the organic stock brake pads for the sintered ones from Speed 400 on the first service. It's a night and day difference after that. The wind blast issue was taken care of by the windshield from Carbon Racing. And I did few other mods to make it completely touring friendly, all for an expense less than the stock Himalayan 450. Coming to the 450, I rode it again. Poor throttle response, lack of low end torque, poor refinement of the engine and top heavy nature stood out no matter how good the suspension and braking are. That's why I spend almost a lakh in modding my 411 (video coming soon) now making it much more capable for my style of riding which is more for the highways, commutes and slow trail rides. 450 is not a replacement or better than the 411 in terms of comfort, ergonomics, torquey character and ease of maintenance. If you are looking for a powerful highway machine, I'd suggest KTM 390 ADV way more than the 450. Comes with a whole lot of tech, quick shifter, tubeless, lighter, quicker, faster and even with adjustable suspension. And now with a whole lot of reliability issues popping up with the 450, I'd rather pass.
@@AbhishekDaniel I hear what you're saying. You have experienced the 411 where as I have not . So You can definitely tell whether it has poor throttle response , lack of low end torque , poor refinement of engine whereas I did not notice such things. Definitely you wanted a bike which gave an upgrade over what you had already experienced on the 411 and that was scrambler 400x for you whereas the 450 paled in comparison. RE is still yet to reach the refinement and finish levels of say Triump or a Honda and I am no RE fanboy but still I hope they keep refining this Himalayan with further iterations because the potential is hugely there as a Tourer. Yes I test rode the ADV 390 and it brought such a grin on my face , I was smiling throughout my entire test ride. It had the best handling on a adv bike that i had ridden so far. Absolute joy to ride .As you said the tech and everything is just superlative as compared to RE and Triumph. I am eagerly waiting for the the new 390 adv which would be launching later this year. I think one thing to be noted is that the adv 390 that I had test rode had over 30,000 KM on odo. Now that is enough time for a single cylinder engine to become refined because they do take time to become refined. Especially a non Japanese engine. They are on another level. So maybe even Himalayan which is a single cylinder 450 can become refined as kilometers rack up and services are done. Just a thought.
@@hrishikeshparab1236 yes well said. Even my Himalayan wasn’t as refined as it is now when I bought it. The 450 has a lot of potential but it’s a big miss in terms of providing a replacement to the 411. Maybe RE will improve it in the future versions. And like you said, even I’m waiting for the upcoming new version of 390 ADV. Looks promising! Fingers crossed
@@AbhishekDaniel Yeah eagerly waiting! Also looking forward to your full review of Scrambler 400x and also the video on the modifications that you have done on your 411. Cheers mate! Happy riding 👍
You are tremendous, For the 1st time have watched your video and I literally like your video the way you presented, you described the way is perfect. I was also confused about buying Scram 400, but you helped me out bro. You have explained all the points very nicely even without showing the bike. Fantastic job👍
Beautiful review man! Very honest. Very true to the core. The way you have enlisted all the pros and cons, the details of living with the Himalayan (old gen), it's really an amazing eye-opening video! Kudos, keep up the good work! 💯
I’ve been using the tourR for just 2k km now. It’s been same as the Ceat in terms of on road wet and dry grip but better grip on the gravel than Ceat or Maxxis.
What a wonderfull content.... Really covered all the aspects on this topic i wanted..... Really appreciate ur efforts AD ..... Wishing more kms of fun and endeavours ✨✨
You're welcome 🙂 I'm even more in love with my 411 after I test rode the 450. Get the aluminium rims from the 450 for your 411. It feels so much better.
What a great review. No vomiting spec sheet numbers like all other youtubers. You described the feel, purpose and the nature of all 3 bikes in their practical application. Loved it. Please do more of these.
you have to be the only one saying himalayan 450's weight distribution is good. Try NX500 which is the exact same weight and you won't feel the weight at all. It feels as if you are riding a pulsar(in terms of weight)
Yes I’ve heard lot of praise about the NX500. Yes to test ride one but it comes nowhere near to these 3 bikes in terms of ownership cost 😅 So I don’t think it’s a good comparison.
