Thanks! It worked! I also revived the tiny O ring inside that part that I poked pins in to remove the debris.

Thanks for this, saved me a lot of time and trouble shooting. I disassembled the quick-connector and, using a 3/16" wooden dowel, popped the restrictor out and have left it out. This faucet has never produced good flow since new but now it's running at 100%. I have no problem blowing out and cleaning the spray nozzle and hose if they clog in future. Thanks again.

Worked for me. Mine is a Kohler elmbrook kitchen faucet with low pressure. The plastic wasn’t dirty on mine however I saw a very small rubber o ring inside, taking that out improved the pressure majorly. Thanks.

It worked!! Thank you! They did some water line construction and we couldn’t figure out why our front sink was down to a trickle. Your’s was the first video I looked at. Again, thank you. You probably saved us a 150 bucks just for a plumber to show up. I knew it was in our faucet, but where I couldn’t tell. My wife is happy, which makes me happy, because well, you know wives! It’s all good!!

You the man! Thanks so much - this really helped! I unfortunately had already ordered a new hose and quick connect filter, but that didn't solve the issue. Old quick connect was still good after cleaning. That process as well as flushing the hot water connectors solved it. Seems like a lot of bits of old washer, so probably have to change the hot water shutoff valve next time I notice some water rate change. This hack was the missing piece though. This info should be more widespread, but I guess Kohler would sell far fewer replacement parts.

just want to say thank you!! I stumbled upon this while trying to search to see if that check valve was a flow restrictor and if it can be removed. I decided to just clean it per your video. I ended up having to clean both sections of the plastic quick connect (I used picks I purchased from Menards) I also had to flush the hard line leading to this quick connect, and back flush the cartridge, took some compressed air to it too. Took a few disconnects and re-assembles but FINALLY got it flowing great! I almost feel like its better than when it was new ha ha. Here's to fellas helping other fellas thanks again!!

This is video is a life saver. Kohler needs to update their troubleshooting to address this part. I had the same issue on the Cursiva single handle faucet. I had replaced the aerator and the cartridge with no success. The plumber came and removed this same small part to solve the issue. Wish I saw this sooner.

This is the flow restrictor that he cleaned out. My Costco Kohler shower fixture has an identical flow restrictor which you can easily pop out by inserting a small screw driver to pick to pry out the restrictor and then you have full flowing faucet or shower head!

Brilliant! Nice! I could not find a solution anywhere on the web. This simple video saved me time and aggravation figuring out how to disconnect the simple clip connector for the hose. Thank you!

A couple comments… Technically, one does not have to remove the ~4" white plastic connector. I struggled and struggled to try to “unhook” the top claspy, hook things: I could not remove the plastic connector. I did not want to use brute force to pull it off, given it was attached a metal tube, that may or may not be part of the overall faucet assembly. So, as the video shows, it was just easier to me to unscrew the white ‘nut’ on the bottom of the white plastic piece while leaving the top end attached to where it was. I grabbed the middle part of the plastic piece with a pliers and then was able to hand-turn / unscrew the white nut to remove that end of the hose: my overall objective. By the way, if the hex nut is too hard to grab, the size is 15mm, in case one wants to save fingers from slipping around a slippery, nylon nut. After that, which, for me, was the really important part because it more clearly showed me which one of three hoses I would actually need to buy. I accidentally ordered the wrong one; the one I needed has to have threads on the hose’s brass / metal end. Also, one does NOT need to turn off the water. Water going thru the hose is controlled by the faucet’s handle; so just be careful to “accidentally” or mindlessly / inadvertently turn the water on. Then just pull the hose out and inspect it. It is not particularly necessary to take off the primary faucet tube (the upper U-shaped part); the hose “should” pull out without removing the upper faucet (the business piece above the sink). In my case, I removed the primary faucet (push the inconspicuous gray ‘thing’ at the base of the faucet) to release the faucet and pull it up. I was unable to easily pull the hose out: it was getting snagged on something and using brute force to pull out the hose is a really dumb thing to do. In my case, that was all I needed to do to fix my (water leaking) issue: the white nylon bushing that seats a ball-shaped plug was cracked and caused water to leak near the sprinkler head and also down the under-sink tube that holds / guides the hose when the faucet handle was pushed “on.” Related to this video, after I unscrewed the sprinkler head it could clearly see a healthy build-up of deposits was interfering with unimpeded water flow. So, I placed the sprinkler head in a small glass of vinegar to dissolve the deposits. Note that if the faucet control is your issue, you WILL need to turn off the water. But that was not an issue with me: the faucet control valves appeared normal.

Thank you for this video! It helped me fix the extremely slow flow on a Kohler kitchen faucet. Slightly different design of faucet and flow restrictor module, but basically worked the same. After finding and disassembling the white flow restrictor assembly as shown, I cleared the holes in the blue plastic flow restrictor (ours is blue, the one in the video is white) with a bent paper clip and rinsed the whole assembly off well. It got rid of a lot of little black granules that probably came from our hot water heater. Water flow is now several times what it was before. Many thanks!
