My order is just arrived. I have to wait a couple of moths just to hit the slopes with my SR95s. Just can't wait. I hope that they would be my best all-rounder resort skis.
This video was so needed. I love Stockli and can never figure out which ski to look at. So, this helps. For me, I'm considering the following: Edge FT for touring (not something I think of stockli for, but here goes) Laser SC (is there one with a 15+ radius?) I really like the torsional stiffness setup in the tip of these skis. I ski out of soft snow onto ice across the face a lot, so you can really tell which skis bite in and which bounce off the wall... Nordica 104 free (bites into the wall) Dynastar 89 Ti (bounces and chatters) Need a mid low 90s ski and a mid low 70s ski underfoot. It's basically Laser or Rossi Hero at this point. 😊
Min 18... you were chosen because your father was a professional racer and they knew your family would be willing to do what it takes. Other families probably weren't even aware of the committment joining US skiing brings or the financial requirements. So, I'm happy for you, but you should know you didn't earn it. Sadly, pro sports seems less legit to me lately... Still fun to watch though! 😊
Hey @Stöckli, a 32 minute @youtube video is not an ad. Its a marketing/brand video you should just make better so people want to watch it. It's annoying and is not helping your brand. Kind regards, Ryan
Quality never ever comes cheap, but then skiers will remember the quality long after the price has been forgotten about. As for me, I'm now retired and a free agent, and after a 35 year break I'm trying alpine skiing again next season, first rental ski's to get past the basics, and for the 2025 season, all-being well, and if nothing bad happens, I'll be investing in my first set of ski's. Price isn't really an issue anymore, as you can't take your money with you when you're gone, and I have no-one to leave it to, so, I may purchase some Stockli's to progress with on my skiing journey. The official Stockli retailer is within reach of me in Oakley.
I have the Stöckli 88 & I snowboard on the deep days. I actually look forward to groomer days now. The Stöckli stormriders are super stable & fun, plus there's fewer people on the hill on groomer days so I can rack up 15,000-20,000 meters of vert with ease. They're expensive, but they're very well made & pay living wages unlike many mass-produced products.
They're a premium ski, but one selling point could be living wages & that's not always the case with other mass production methods & brands. Many brands contribute to the race to the bottom by seeking slave-wage mass production methods while using advertising to sell an inferior product.
No doubt you won't be the least bit surprised that Stockli's top end quality competitive rival Kastle says the same thing about their ski's. After I get through the basics in 2024, and out grow a pair of beginner ski's I'll be getting in 2025, I'll seriously consider Stockli...or Kastle as my second set of ski's to go with intermediate skill and an upgraded intermediate ski boot.
Did moving the mount point forward and having new construction solve the problem of the ski blowing out on the heals for the Stormrider series? Last season I demoed a pair of 95s and they were blown out at the heal before I touched snow.. Still did 6 runs on them;) When I brought them back there was another pair of 95s that was blown out at the heal and a pair of 88s that were blown out at the heal.. They did not have 102s to demo but I did talk to someone who blew out theirs.. I have a pair of 2019 105s that I got last year and they are awesome.. I only got to ski on them a couple times before the conditions started to deteriorate and I did not want to wreck them.. I also have a pair of 2016 88s.. I only skied on them one day last season but I have a story to tell.. It was a Holiday weekend and I got to the hill late and then waited for the bus and then the lift line was long and the lift stopped.. Needless to say I was in a rush.. So I flew down a green/blue run and there was a lip on the headwall.. I flew in the air 20 feet high and 100 yards in the air.. When I landed it was more less flat so my legs gave out and I wiped out.. Someone saw it and asked if I was ok.. My response was "holy !@#$ are these skis fast." I did slow down for the rest of the day.. I am an ex racer and I am sure that I would love your Laser and Montero series;)
Stöckli is the most expensive skis. But the quality is not better or even worse than competitors. And the post sales service is next to none I am afraid.
The Laser AX has been replaced by the Montero AX. It's almost the same ski, but we improved some little details: The Montero AX with its new design is slightly wider at 80 mm than the Laser AX with 78 mm. In addition, the ski length / radius has been changed and a Full Edge Control has been integrated. This means that the Montero AX is wider at its shovel end and you can initiate a turn easier and faster. Also, the ski is thereby more grippy, because of the larger contact surface.
Hi, the Laser SC is a very versatile Ski, built for a big range of turns whereas the Laser SX loves mid-radius to sweeping long turns with high speeds, but can also be used as a casually cruiser. If you have the possibility, we always suggest a Ski test at your local ski store to feel the difference between our models. Best regards Your Stöckli team
I'd say yes. You could argue that they're expensive, or you could say they pay their staff a living wage; rather than supporting mass-produced race to the bottom consumer goods, you chose quality products built carefully by reasonably paid humans - good choice.
