This channel is all about simulation! Car Sim, Commercial Flight Sim and Fighter Jets Sim. We will go over sim builds, components used, best prices and how to get the most of your build. I will be building the sims at my own home and will be showing step by step videos on how to build and what components I used.
Hey! It’s about 10.5 inches. Please note that this only include the TL and surge on top of each other. Does not include the actuators installed. With actuators installed, you are at 28.5 inches.
Thank you for your video! :) When you steer left and right and the TL actuator is also moving left and right, is there still enough movement left in case you really lose grip? Have a nice sunday!
@@simul8master Just one question about the movement. When you turn right, your TL pushes the rig to the left and vice versa. I know that this replicates what the car would do. However, when you turn right, shouldn't the TL also go to the right to replicate being pushed into your left car door? Or does it feel correct the way you dialed it in? Unfortunately, I have to wait until next year to build the same system as you. I'm really thankful for your tutorials! Thanks in advance, and have a nice week! :)
I'll have to try this. SRS leaves me slightly frustrated at times. Some movements are better on some axis and some are not as detailed on other axis. Thank you for this video.
@@simul8master Nice. Thank you so much for this. Just finished mine using all your videos, and I am currently using simhub. So good. Honestly wish simhub would add flight of some type, but this thing is a beast. I couldn't have done it without you.
Thank you for this detailed video! I was hoping to make something similar, but totally lack the time currently. And yes Simhub is a game changer! Literally 😂
Hey brother - So there are 2 heights - One where the rig is parked and the other when you start a game and the rig rises up. In my case, it's 42 and 45 inches respectively.
Thank u brother for the response i was looking for your account in different apps to ask some questions just order the tl and surge i already got 3 dof from pt
Have you had any issues with your TL platform casters? Mine keep shedding material and get crunchy and fail every month and then they just send me new ones lol
Not really. Also I have not been using the system much due to my schedule. Failing every month is an issue. Have you thought about getting something else than what eracing offers? (For the casters of course) - check PT actuator.
I have other videos explaining all this. The actuator does not connect to your actual rig. The actuator will connect to the surge platform. Your actual rig will then sit on the surge platform and connect to it via brackets.
@@simul8masterI am in the process of building this rig. When attaching the actuators, no measurement is given for vertical offset so that there is enough clearance from the surge and traction platforms. What offset would you recommend.
@@simul8masterthanks for the recommendation I have just ordered one! Looking forward to receiving it… Do you mind to share where did you get that plate to mount it on the floor?
Unless you somehow completely decouple the four buttkickers from each other you will never get that "surround sound feedback" people try to obtain by using this many haptic speakers. Put one under the seat and maybe one under the pedals and call it a day.
Hi again, I'm wondering if the your rig motion behavior is connected to what FPS you are getting in the game ? on my rig especially in VR when my fps jump up and down the motion get disturbed with a quick jittering and shaking effect. I'm not sure if the SRS software sends data based on the fps we getting in the sim and if it's not good then the motion won't be as well. Thanks
I found the measurements for the bottom platform but in another video for the traction loss frames you mention they are 40x120 and in this one you mention they are 40x80 which is too small to fit the TL plates that come with the kit I believe?
Do you have a link for the server cabinet you use for the control modules? Just trying to get all the ”extra details” ready before buying the rs mega. Thanks.
Hi, love your setup. I am using the LG 48 oled monitors instead of the C3's like you...I have the triple monitor stand from trak racer. i wanted to know how did you mount the screens? which vesa mount are you using since im having trouble mounting them properly
Looks awesome. I've been watching all your content. I am looking forward to buying a motion rig for sim racing mainly and some MSFS. I am trying to choose between the Qubic QS210 or RS Mega+. I cannot tell why the RS Mega+ is half the price compared to the QS210; there must be a reason. The QS210 seems very fast and responsive, and you never get disconnected from the simulation or feel like you're floating in space. I've been watching all your tests and trying to imagine how I would feel using the RS Mega+, but you have it turned up a lot for my taste. I will use it with VR and probably i'll dial it down quite a bit. Could you please detail how you feel the motion? Is there any time when you feel the actuators doing something that disconnects you from the simulation, like coming back to position when the travel has been exhausted, etc.? Would you say it is fast and responsive enough to match 1:1 with what is going on in the simulator? Any lag? I am about to pull the trigger on one of these systems, and I would like to make the right decision. I really like the Qubic QS210, but first, I would like a good reason to discard the RS Mega+. Thanks a lot for your time and effort!
Hey! The system has been great. No issues / disconnects as you mentioned. You can play with the settings and tune up/down as you please. Reaction times have been great. Response time is also great. I cannot really advise on QS210 as I have never tried it. I will reach out to them to see if i can get a system to test out and compare. But overall, really happy with my system.
@@simul8master Thanks. It would be great if you can get the chance to compare your system with the qubic one. I am actually leaning more and more towards the RS Mega +, people seem to be happy with it.Ill do some more research before buying one. Ill keep watching your channel, it is very helpfull.Cheers¡
I am almost convinced to go with the RS MEGA+. There is just one last thing that worries me.I heard of people havineg problems with EMI and the RS MEGA+.Did you have any problem with it?.If so, what did you do?.
I have the NLR f-gt elite 160 rig, and I got the NLR free standing triple monitor stand like yours. However, monitor stand width is narrower than rig, hence stand is way far away from the driver. Did you face the same problem?
Eventually I will add motion components as well. For now home depot visit and some DIY I made the stand wider. On your current setup, how high the monitors stand from floor and how far are they from driver’s eye? point?
I've been waiting to tackle this next upgrade but did see how everything came together. Super grateful for posting your pictures along with measurements. Gives me a good starting point as my rig is a bit longer. Looking forward to the next view. 🏁🏁
First of all, thank you very much for your video series!! It has motivated me to also consider a DIY solution, and all of your explanations have been very helpful. Due to limitations in my man cave, I'm wondering if it's really necessary to have such a wide stand in the back. The TL doesn't seem to utilize all of that space, right? Is it for stability reasons, or can it be narrower? How far it swings from left to right probably also depends on how far back I would mount the TL actuator. I only have 42-43 inches available. Have a nice day!:)
I see that yaw, surge are seperated from pitch, roll, heave on Eracing, If i only want more heave, yaw and surge movement respond more often than others, do you think Eracing is better than 6 dof stewart simulator? Thanks
I'm thinking I want to build a rig just like you, but it seems hard to build for both race and flight sim. Do you use rudder pedals? Is RS Mega good for flight sim?
Excellent videos. I just completed my build on a NLR F-GT ELITE chassis. It was a little more complicated than the TR chassis. Regarding your surge. How much surge are you getting? Mine is not very noticeable. EDIT: Also, there is no way I would have been able to complete this project without your videos. KUDOS!
At 7:40 you talk about the brackets being installed on the outside and colliding with your vertical profiles - do you not bolt the brackets (or rollers?) to the upper rig so that they surge with it? Is that not how it works? (i'm researching this as im about to order :) ) - thanks for your time
You do bolt it to the actual rig but there is an actuador that moves the actual rig back and forth for surge. So as it moves back and forth, the brackets are fixed in place so if you do not have clearance, it will hit.
Great video! Very helpful. I had a hard time finding it, as the title of the video is slightly mis-spelled ("Measurments") and thus didn't show up. Just calling out in case you want to update to make this more visible to the community. Thanks again!
Thanks for this man, there's not a ton of info out there for this, or it's bundled with surge and I don't want to add surge so I'm kind of just guessing what parts I do or don't need.
It’s Behr PPU2-17 Morocco Red Interior Chalk Decorative Spray Paint Aerosol and Behr Black Matte Interior/Exterior Spray Paint and Primer in One Aerosol - both from homedepot.
Literally doing this right now ... just took delivery of the surge & tl kit. Have you built the surge with an extra inch of width or just match the exact frame size? My gt evo is 58cm wide so as per comments above was thinking or ordering the surge frame as an inch larger.
@tomyippeekiyay2781 it gotta be the same exact dimention as the GT1 EVO, 500mm qty 2, 1350mm qty 2 and 210mm qty 2 these are to hold the actuator all of the 40x80 profiles. If you add an inch it won't clear the 4 main movement actuator and it wont fit on the rails.
@FamiliaColl amazing thanks. Just realised from this that i measured the width from the outter edges instead on the inside which is why i had 580mm not 500mm ... phew.
Thanks for these videos. I was struggling to find out how to connect the frames and components! Are you posting the Part 2 for the Traction Loss Platform (the lower frame)? i don't see it anywhere...
