As Woody Allen once said....."Don't love me....just make love to me" LOL Forgive me Margherita. I've been watching vids on Reggio tonight, reflecting on a time when I was visiting there as a much younger man. Fell in love with your city and the culture. I learned about wines, bars, cheeses, and espresso while I was there. This motivated me to start cooking Italian dishes. Made Aglio Olio last night and washed it down with a nice Chianti. Here in Texas, BOLLA Valopolicella! If I could afford a nice Barolo I would stick with that. Loved your video!

Ciao, volendo studiare 2 lingue contemporaneamente è meglio a giorni alterni o divedere mattina per una lingua e pomeriggio per l altra oppure fare mattina una lingua pomeriggio l altra e il giorno seguente invertire così da non standarizzare lo studio?
Ciao, grazie mille per il tuo commento! 🤗 dipende da te e da come ti trovi meglio! Tutte le opzioni che hai proposto sono molto valide :) dipende anche da quanto sono simili le lingue e dal tuo livello in ciascuna. C’è chi fa a giorni alterni o a settimane alterne o c’è chi le studia entrambe ogni giorno, ma facendo cose diverse (es. Leggo e guardo un video nella lingua x perché sono più avanzatə e scrivo una pagina di diario al giorno nella lingua y perché devo praticare di più la produzione). Personalmente mi piace l’idea di avere una routine, ma di non standardizzarla troppo. Però ripeto dipende da quello che preferisci e da quello e da come ti trovi meglio :) magari potresti fare una prova per due settimane e vedere come va!
Molto interessante. I got most things right, the first couple words threw me off but the idioms were particularly easy as there are Italian versions of most of those and the others could be understood with little guesswork. Tysm! Such a genuine video :)

To learn a language is to strip yourself of age and to be born again. It is to curl yourself up in a dark womb. For nine months, I didn’t understand. I was surrounded by the blackness of gibberish. There was the pain and toil of study, the incessant agony to know. Then, alas - the light. I began to understand somewhat but not quite, there were still the squints, and the slow and ever-expanding eye. And oh, how all was new in this world full and bright, of sounds and sights fresh and foreign. Me, a grown man had to put on pampers. Many times awet in error and in need I wailed. Consider this, the kings of eloquence too must learn to condescend to babes. William Shakespeare must learn to say, “mother” in a language not his own. Dante Alighieri must set aside his laurel wreath, and learn to crawl with feet and arms of limitation. As a beginner, growth is more apparent. Like a teen I grew quickly in the language, my voice cracked and deepened in the puberty of progress. I went from knowing inches to knowing feet. Behold the rapid spurts of stature, I walked with a grammar disproportioned, dangling limbs and a head ballooned. As I matured, I found myself in the “intermediate plateau,” where growth hid its face, where progress was slow and imperceptible. For many years, I asked for wrinkles and the signs of aging. I know not when the grays will grace my speech - but when it comes I hope to speak as wine and oak. For oft we ask, “How long will it take to learn a language?” To me this seems a question strange. How odd to ask a friend, “How long will it take to know you?” Indeed, we’ve become mad, with our tools we stretch the limbs of infants. We water the green with firehoses, and hammer plants with clubs: “Why won’t you grow! Why won’t you grow!” we shout, our echoes far and wide. Language is the metaphor of nature. To learn a language is to be tutored by the trees. It needs to seep into us, into the soil of our speech, to spring forth like fruit and not as ornaments hung on branches bulbed. But, oh how often impatience chokes us, how it slithers into our hearts to bite with the tongue poisoned. May we listen to the wisdom that surrounds us, and imitate the slowness that beats within the earth. As Hadden Turner noted, “Trees and plants grow imperceptibly. Landscapes take generations to form. The water cycle runs its slow course. It is well known that when a plant grows too quickly it makes itself vulnerable and weak - its stem is not strong and is susceptible to being blown over in the wind. Slow and steady growth is essential to its health - a truth the modern-day farmer armed with his rapid-growth fertilizers is apt to forget.”

@@Margherita_Dolcevita_Languages Thanks. I’ve noticed that I can understand Spanish rather easily by virtue of knowing Italian. After further reflection, I’ve decided to not study other languages but wanted to focus on studying the history of technology and memory. This is another one of my passions. Perhaps one day, I’ll start another language!

Because life still goes on and you can be extra busy with work + anxiety kicks in and makes a mess ahaha but it’s also important to remember that everyone is different and we learn at different paces :)

Probably the fact that everything nowadays is fast get people to have some stress to learn fast a thing, in particular a language. Probably it's because of this..I see it in my case when I try to learn English better. Thank u for ur video❤

Ola a todos, sou brasileiro e nos brasileiros gostamos muito de saber que gostam do nosso idioma e querem aprender, eu amo a Itália e sou descendente italiano, por este motivo gostaria de aprender também o italiano. Dear Margherita, accent is your personal root and identity, and allows you to have a clear and meaningful conversation in your second language. Enriching your body language for English, in the way that you speak your mother tongue is more relevant, including the stress on some particular words, and adopting the nuances in particular contexts. You are on the right path, congratulations!
Vorrei chiedere una cosa: è possibile essere insegnante senza magistrale? Cioè diventare un'insegnante a tutti gli effetti. Esempio, se volessi insegnare storia e italiano al liceo potrei solo con la triennale?
