Isn't grabbing the tail a bit disrespectful to the animal? It can't swim away... and it looks like it's trying to. I don't disagree that sharks can be very friendly, but they should be allowed to approach humans on their own terms.

Warum nur müssen Menschen alles anfassen? Man schaut mit den Augen, nicht mit den Händen. (Meeres)Tiere und Menschen können sich gegenseitig mit Parasiten/Keimen infizieren (s. Meeresbiologe Robert Marc Lehmann). Schaut einfach nur und genießt das Vertrauen, das diese wunderbaren Tiere uns mir ihrer Anwesenheit und ihrem Verweilen entgegenbringen. Das wäre super!

You know that pulling fish backwards by the fins and tail can kill them, right? If the gills are open while the shark moves backwards, the water can get into their lungs and cause them to drown. Gills only work when the fish is swimming or being propelled forwards.
