very cool but a bit sad that they will probably never any of the older songs ever again... makes me especially grateful that I saw them play passing last year on their postponed anniversary tour
'Twas *years* before I realized there was no such thing as a "covered vomit-porch". 😞 I now live in shame. Deep shame, for ever thinking that was a legitimate structure of some sort. 😆
@@jacksalter5983 It's certainly rough around the edges from a song structure standpoint, but there's some genuinely great ideas on it. Phantom Pain is incredible for example.
Or sooner make fun of White and He Will Kill Again 😏 But even in a mocking mode these two songs are awesome and I'll choose them over Alleviate anytime 🤗
Hi there fellas. I was wondering if you could at some point get a hold of Dave and plan out something to get your merch and other things out of our studio? We need the space for our tenants. Thank you,
I hope they don't ask you to remove it. I unfortunately didn't get the VIP ticket to see this. It's so funny ! I'll watch it whenever I need to laugh. Thanks for sharing !
I don't understand why they despise or at least don't like their old stuff. It is so good and not THAT different from their next albums that you could hate it that much. People wanna have their demos as well, they are so rare. Kinda unfortunate.
@@TheHalfGlassFullGuy I get that, that's what every band does but you can see and hear in interviews and videos like these that they literally don't like their first album. Einar has said so himself. I think it was in an interview.🤔
@@TheHalfGlassFullGuy Objectively speaking their new stuff is simpler and less varied in the range of sounds and emotions within each song. Each song usually has like one really catchy hook or theme and that's about it. I personally much prefer the dynamics and progressiveness of songs like He Will Kill Again, Passing, and White; but, my preferences aside, it is just plain weird for a band to never play ANY songs from their debut album
You serious? Most of their old songs were just two sounds fused in 3 parts. From a sound perspective, their new music is far more complex, they have for more tiny details that their old music simply didn't have. While the main aspect of the song may have been more "complex" and "proggy", that doesn't mean that it's any better than any of the new stuff. It's also about how things fit together, and I think that their new stuff is far more cohesive, as well as having far more small details that fill out the background of the music and give it a lot more depth, rather than perhaps the width that the older songs had. No problem if you enjoy the older stuff, I'm not saying anything is better or worse, they are two very different sounds, and that's okay.
This is my new favorite song. I'm gonna listen to it in the car all day and sing along with my windows down. word for word. I do find it weird that they couldn't find one boom stand in that whole studio for the vocal mic lol
