All games have been emulated with MameUI, I have never used cheats, TAS or Tool Assisted either before or during the game, use only the SaveState.

Same year as "Galaga". Taito at the time was just ripping off successful games. If I played this, it would have to be on mute. That is the worst screeching music loop ever.
They had this on machine in Majorca on my summmer holiday when I was about 10. Spent all the whole holiday pestering my parents to get 25c coins to play it
From the Phoenix Wiki - "A secret bonus on the arcade original only occurs during the first stage, which involves the player shooting three Phoenixes flying away at a diagonal within only two seconds, which nets a 200,000 point bonus" I did this once by a freak chance and was stunned. Totally broke my concentration, and I lost shortly after. Never repeated. 😆
I'm 55 years old and this was my favourite arcade machine as a kid. The intro tune takes me straight back to the amusement arcade in Smarts at Littlehampton a handful of 10p pieces and I was in heaven. Great memories, thanks for posting.
