Arsenal will continue to win if they raise the aggressiveness for goal scoring, when they understand that one- touch tactics is one way to penetrate enemy defence and deliver. The style of individually holding the ball until we are clustered and most time not able to advance or outrightly loose possession, at instancees where combinations of swift passes were required keep being the issue for Arsenal to deal with. It is the way to increase intensity of attacks on enemy, get goals and reduce enemy attack strength. We need to frequently explore swift passes tactics.
@@julu8407 if you take a look at Sterling under pep at City he got though a lot of defensive work.. players are products of their environment and managers. Correct Jorginho can’t run and which is why I don’t want to see Rice playing advance left 8 and instead baby sitting him. He is just there for his passing.
All this guys making all this RU-vid videos analyzing football i find some of them funny at times, i think you should wait for Mikel merino to sign and start playing before you analyze and judge Arteta's decision, footballknowledge is very wide.
I think if Arteta did implement this, gabriel would be benched and white would e the rcb. I think we'd do this anyway, but with white or timber on the wing, odegaard dropping into a double pivot with rice, and merino pushed up onto the last line, with Calafiori potentially overlapping. I think your model would collapse the left-side, and limit the angle without a natural right footer in the midfield.
Been watching highlights of this guys, and watch the inter millan vs socidad game in the cl. And im starting to warm to him. I think if we sign him this mighy work out with him in the 6. Declan there helping out. But this could be good signing
@@JayFergusonTV Well that could still happen but he did say he has no intention of leaving. Might be that he is waiting for another club to come for him. Can't rule out the fact that he might be after a specific club.
@@JayFergusonTV Eish yeah he is a good option but I don't see us spending another 100M on another player in back to back seasons, because what is our budget for this transfer season? We will probably try and negotiate first. I mean we are failing to get the Calafiori deal over the line. I read that we are reluctant to pay Nico Williams 49M release clause because we don't like that structure, which begs the question HOW DID WE GET THOMAS PARTEY? We paid the release clause on the last day of the season.
@@JayFergusonTV it depends on what media you talking about , how reliable/credible they are, and can it be scrutinized ... we all are watching from different sources and following everything ... so ...
Merino usually doesn’t take more than 2/3 touches on the ball before he passes, even when he carries the carrying distances are usually short, so I don’t think holding onto the ball is gonna be a problem. The passing accuracy stat is quite baffling tho, because eye test shows that he’s very competent, it could perhaps be because the nature of his passes are often forward facing and riskier but yeah I’m not so sure about that passing accuracy stat
@@sjthesource For 20-25 million, he raises the floor of the squad and is a profile we don’t have. All our midfielders are either 6s or 10s. We need a natural 8. And if getting him means we can go big on a forward signing then I’m okay with it.
Zubimendi said he doesn't want to leave Spain, Merino would fit Arsenal since he always plays as LM (an 8) . Rice said many times that he chose Arsenal over City so he could play as a classic 6.
zubimendi would be great but he doesnt want to leave spain and cant force him to, merino for 25-30 is good business. i would sign merino and try next summer to go really hard for musiala or wirtz
@@JayFergusonTV i mean they went for rice, and have been linked with very expensive players. i dont see why they wouldnt drop 120 for a superstar player
@@pressplayalex5719 I’m hopefully because Rice was amazing first season so hope that gives them confidence to see that investing large in real talent can pay off!
Why do we always to this? Why do Arsenal fans always want new signings for the sake of it and not for the fact that the player will actually improve us? This my friend is how you get a bunch of average players on your team and you don't get to improve. If we want a left 8, we should be going for someone that improves us significantly and not buy players because they're available for cheap. If we keep doing this, we will never get to the finish line and win things.
It’s not for the sake of it we clearly need 2 midfielders. We only have one creative player in odegaard and we know we can’t rely on Partey and Jorginho for a whole season. So it’s perfectly acceptable for fans to want to see those signings come in to offset the lack of depth and quality
I love Eze, but I think the LCM needs to be someone that can help with build up and allow Odegaard to be the more advanced midfield. Eze is the guy that can dribble in tight spaces and spot the final pass. Rice I don't think has the capacity to play as the lone pivot with no help. I think someone like Merino, albeit less exciting, would suit this team better. Merino would allow Martinelli to invert more and attqack the box, help Rice with the build up and allow Odegaard to receive the ball really high up where he can make the final pass. Having Eze help with build up is a waste of his talents and we would have the same problems that Havertz had on the role. Odegaard is getting stronger and stronger, but he is not that physical duel monster that can play box to box. Merino was the player that won the most duels in Europe last season, final year of his deal, to me a 25-30 million euros is a no brainer.
Think this would work appears we're in for Turkish left back too.... I like Havertz he's grown into the team but wouldn't want him as our only option this season coming....Jesus and Eddie aren't up to it imo...so would need cover... .new sub and good vid 👌
Yall what I think is Mikel is thinking smart, Gabriel is getting old and he is turning 29 he might just drop fotm or he ia using Peps 4cb tactics which won them the UCL not saying it will do the same for us and we know Martinelli was scoring cause of Xhaka providing great passes to him and Calafiori could do that and his Manager said the kid can also play Dm so we will have Tomiyasu,Timber and Calafiori to give Rice a break into the Dm or give Saliba a break into the Cb and I think Timber will play RWB😊

I agree with you, and have thought this for a bit now as well. There’s no way we go into the season in a 4-3-3 again. Calafiori is good enough to start and will. I think it will be more like a 3-4-2-1 which is why we’ve been heavily linked to Onana. Defend with 5 and attack with 5. Also why we’ve been linked to guys like Eze/Doue who are comfortable centrally and out wide. Arteta’s friendship with Xabi and Leverkusen’s success in a 3-4-2-1 makes me believe we’ll see it at Arsenal
good morning from Italy! as Roma supporter i think is really bad move for arteta to play Calafiori as LWB. tbh i do not even think playing him as normal LB is good idea as it is not his best position. but what i think Arteta will do is stay with back 4 defense and only replace Zinchenko with Calafiori at LB but will tell him to play very tight to and central to gabriel & saliba ( so even if his posizion will be LB he will be more of LCB) who knows maybe he will even have job to go forward to help Rice. i hope this makes sense to you! in any way you will get very good player for your team. here in Rome everybody is still very angry that he was sold ciao
Never thought of that. I'd agree he now has the option to play 3 at the back in some games. Calafiori looks like he would be quite comfortable in midfield. Arteta certainly has better inverting options now that are strong defenders.
