★ Ahoj všem! ★ Thanks joining me on Dream Prague! I’m Jen, 💁🏼♀️an American living in Prague, Czech Republic for the past 9 crazy years. 🤪What is living in Prague like? What are Czech people like? Is water really cheaper than beer? I’ll tell you all that and more. . .from an American perspective. Each day, I solve a new mystery about Czech culture, conquer some new Czech bureaucratic nightmare (just to stumble upon a new one 🙇) and get better at this whole expat thing. 🤞🏼
I’m here to share stories about bridging the cultural divide between 🇺🇸American🇺🇸 and 🇨🇿Czech 🇨🇿culture and practice my Czech language along the way (if I can do it, so can you!)
Please ❤ SUBSCRIBE ❤ for new videos released each week! ✌✌ Don't forget to hit the little notification bell so you don't miss out on the fun!
Hi, once you have to try czech soup from pig blood, its very common and tasty especially in villages.. you can make a video if you find someone who can it cook for you, they have to be very experienced in preparing cs.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prdelačka I assume, you are living here, so you have to eat it.. have a nice day!
5:25 "Pro čechy je životním cílem....". Ne, "pro češi je životním cílem..." Promiň musel jsem, nesnáším když mě nikdo neopravuje a nechávají mě cizinci mluvit s chybami.
I just wish you could keep up the amazing videos. Those videos mean a lot to me. You know, I was born in a communist country and America and the American people have always been my hope. I miss your videos so much!
Jen, could you please not give-up on Dream Prague? To me, you're much more than just lovely entertainment, you're a bottomless source of knowledge, a keen observer and chronicler of all things Czech (and American) with a bonus of a great sense of humor. As an old Czech who has been living in western Canada (just across the border from Washington State, Oregon and not far from my favorite N.American city of San Francisco and Berkeley) for the past 55 years, I wholeheartedly thank you for the many years you've kept me informed and up-to-date about the country of my birth. By the way, Jen, how is your Czech citizenship thingy progressing?
WHAAAAAAT?!?! You should have mentioned the dog thing in your “why you should move to Czechia” video - I would have been sold weeks ago!!!!! 😂🤣😂 I’m already learning the language just to visit, but I think I might have to move there now! 😍😍😍
P.S. - My boss is cool & lets me bring my dogs to work, but only because we are a small office that doesn’t get a lot of visitors. I live in Florida ☺️
Odd number of flowers have naturally better layout in a vase. Two or four could easily separate to left and right-hand side. The number of flowers is not important if the total number is so big you cannot count them under a second.
Ahoj Jen, vynášení Morany a pálení čarodějnic má trochu jiný původ.
7:09 *WRONG!!!* Most European countries use a tiny space as a thousands separator. A period is used near exclusively in Germanic lands. I should be 4 567,89. Some people (as in other countries) sometimes use period but this is a bad habit as well as mixing foreign words into official language.
2:26 the problem is not with Czechs. The problem is with USA. Is precise paper size really important? Standard A4 size is described in international ISO 216 norm and I believe entire world besides USA uses it. But if you choose to knee in the front of paper fascists (or you are an European weirdo) the letter paper is easily available locally.
I Guess the Czech are the most beatiful ppl...... Despite the fact United states Destroing they're own twin towers n arrange conflict arround the world...... Sell WPNS n grab oil n be proud..... My personal opinion is US is the Only Pest in this world...... Country where kids shoot other kids is justified....
Mrakodrap may be Slovakian word. Because driape means snapping in Slovakia. Then it would be correct Mrakodrap/CloudSnapper. In other video you had Prezvonit. I was suprised it does not exist in USA because I live in UK. They call it "give me missed call".
Actually, "hand cannons" and their legality - If the firearm has been manufactured before 1890, you can own / buy it without anything else than proving you are 18 years of age. Same for it's ammo.
Hhh, just moved to LA. This is a true shock! Never feel safe at the dark hours, no architecture and mostly work) Visited Prague about 8-10 times. Hope to visit it again!
In the Czech Republic, gun ownership is a state granted right What the state grants can be revoked. In the US, gun ownership and self defense is a preordained, God given right enshrined in the constitution. The Bill of Rights are God-given, not privileges granted by the state. Gun violence is a result of bad parenting, the lack of moral teaching, and the acceptance of street justice by children raised running wild in the streets.
Hope you don't mind me saying this, but if Americans were as good at geography as you are hot, the United States would be a nation of genius geographers!
How about grumpy store employees? - Hello, do you speak English? - No… - Ok.. nashledanou! The worst ones are women in their 50s and 60s working as apartment building receptionists 😆. Although having lived here in Prague for a few years, I must say people in general are super polite and friendly. And of course the city itself is magnificent
I once witnessed some probably ill informed tourists order “svickova” with tartar sauce in addition to it. I still kind of question the waiter’s decision to keep quiet about the fact it’s a terrible idea, probably suggested as a prank by someone who’d know exactly what’d be nearly guaranteed to follow. :) (for those without imagination: lengthy tour-de-prague-restrooms)
American ex-pat in Prague 10 years. Thank you so much for insights that could come only from another ex-pat. All of which reinforce the belief that this is the perfect place for me.
