I recieved this as a gift, and quickly found out it would play any 8 track. I started with The Who Live at Leeds and the first Black Sabbath album. Wonderful time.
I'm not sure the exact year I had this. Looks like it game out in 78, and I would have only been 5 yrs. I think I was more like 8 when I had it. I still remember listening to Neil Armstrongs "one small step for man" speech on it and Lou Gehrigs "today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth" retirement speech.
my parents didn't let me listen to rock music or the radio but I found 2XL in the attic (older brother's) and went to a neighbor's yardsale and picked up a box of 8 tracks and I'm still a fan of Led Zepp, RUSH, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and Pat Benatar!!!
Hi, i have bought one from UK. Manual says that works on 110v, IS correct? Do you know where i can get The 3 amp adapter? It works on 9 volts?i would like test It.Thanks from Spain.
Loved my 2XL when I was in second grade. After a few months, I couldn't resist pushing buttons at the wrong time and eventually broke my poor little robot. Fun while it lasted.
my parents wouldn't let me listen to rock music or the radio... but I had my older brother's 2XL and I went around to garage sales picking up 8-Track tapes. First box of 8-tracks had Led Zep II, RUSH 2112, Pat Benetar Crimes of Passion and Jethro Tull Passion Play.
I just found my old 2XL in my mother's attic. I had completely forgotten about this toy. It's weird, because now I recall having spent a great deal of time playing with it.
God, I was so happy to own this, one Christmas when I was a child. I hope to pick one of these awesome toys up, some day in the future (for my collection!). :)
