Great memories. I see many people who think this was an amazing time. I, too, smile when I see this video. But.. looking back, I also recall what wasn't going well (despite my being 13 years old). In 1978 we had: Ted Bundy, Great Blizzard of 78 (100+ dead), Carter stops us from making a Neutron Atom Bomb (good idea.. did not need more atom bombs), Hillside Strangler kills 10th victim, St. Paul MN repeals protections for Gay folks (and the Rainbow flag flies for 1st time), A bomb goes off in Northwest University, Son of Sam serial killer is sentenced, New York's Love Canal is deemed a Toxic Waste Emergency, AFlight 182 crashed in San Diego killing 144, 900+ people die in Jonestown, Cleveland Ohio is 1st city to declare bankruptcy, Charlie Chaplin's coffin stolen, then recovered, John Wayne Gaycy (serial killer) finally captured... That's just a few for that year. CHiPs ran from 77 to 83. We can cover a lot of ground regarding news in 4 years. So as much as I, too, love the old time stuff I also know that pretending the old times were "the best" really isn't true. They were what they were. Just as great, weird, or bad as now. I do worry the internet / cell phones are probably causing us to lose touch with each other a great deal. But.. I also see kids doing cool stuff as well. Some day they'll recall something from today and feel good about the old days. I hope they do. It's fun.. but it's not true how the old days were always better. Being distracted by roller skaters in bikinis is pretty easy.
Lol at all the comments acting like this was reality and not some staged and fabricated television show. Yeah I'm sure in the 70's throngs of scantily clad models broke out into roller disco lines all the time. Was a regular everyday occurrence I'm sure.
I haven't even seen or heard of this. When was it first out and on what TV Channel. Is it on Sky. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Again I've not seen it. And it does look really brilliant. I'm one of many who hasn't seen this.
Yes, its one of my favorit series and Jeff Meek was one of the best Marterial Arts in this time with Chuck Norris,Steve James and Michael Dudikoff. The series was last broadcasted in germany for over 20 years.
The 70's roller skate trend had several unintended conseqences. In many states people had to register themselves as a motor vehicle. This skewed several key government statistics including the number of homeless people living in an area. Law enforcement stopped picking up many homeless and just issued parking citations if they wore skates.
