Great video. I love the multi purpose furniture its perfect for small spaces. I often wonder why manufacturers don't make more use of space in sofas and coffee tables. Storage facility is a small homes best friend.
I spoke with 5 different floor installers these past two weeks in SoCal…they all prefer the newer gens of laminate flooring for looks, locking ease/strength, more forgiving install, scratch resistance, and pricing.
Joe, YES,, you need to have an expansion gap around the entire perimeter! Each manufacturer has it's own tolerances. It should be on the directions they supply in the box. You should also try and put all the materials that you purchase in the area to be installed, for three days to allow it to acclimate to the temp and humidity. You should actually, open each box at this time to allow the air to get inside of them! Each manufacturer will have a ,, phone number for technical support and info, have your material info ( will be on the box ) ready if you call them! Theres many variables and many videos on how to install. Each product is a little different, and they go together differently when installed. So do a little research before you begin. Just so you know!! THE FIRST THREE ROWS ARE THE HARDEST!! They want to move on you while putting them together. So keep checking for movement! Good luck! Hope this helps.
@@joegonzales772 , Kitchen floor will get wet!! You should use a LVP ( luxury vinyl planking ) ! It is waterproof! If the material say , WATER RESISTANT , it's not waterproof. Are you on a slab home or wood sub floor ? If you have wood sub floors, you may want to paint the wood first. Use a latex based paint ( any color, even old stuff that's been sitting around, mix them together). Two thin coats, this will help seal the wood from any water that can seep through the seams of the vinyl planking. Water can find it's way through if not cleaned up fast enough. Measure your floor to exact square footage, then add 10% for waste. That is the amount of material to purchase. The store will take back any full boxes. You should keep some extra materials for yourself to do repairs in the future ( hope not).
You provided a clear comparison between luxury vinyl plank and laminate flooring. This video made it easier to understand the differences between these two options. Thanks
Who knew vinyl flooring could be so fascinating? I'm about to rip up my hardwood floors and replace them with vinyl just to impress my friends with these little-known facts.
