My husband has had his care through the VA for almost 30 years and has never had a single complaint. He recently had heart surgery and was treated fantastically and they did a spectacular job with the procedure and after care.
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 🤍
Good question! I would recommend several things. First, finding someone who is a nurse to give you some insight to nursing school and the nursing profession. If that doesn't deter you, I would try to find a job within the healthcare field such as a CNA/PCT that gives you exposure to patient care and working with nurses. They may even pay for some or all of your tuition if you become a nurse. I would also do a lot of research on the type of nursing school that you want to attend. I would recommend not going with the expensive name brand school, but looking into community college or hospital affiliated programs!
As a nurse myself of over 20 years, it's important to mention that x dollars per hour is likely not base pay. And that makes all the difference. Like what conditions are you working in for 70/hr? Nights, weekends, nurse:patient ratio, state even...? Just throwing out a number without that context honestly perpetuates more misconceptions about nursing and sets people up for disillusionment.
Hey there! Thanks for the comment! As returning viewers of mine may know, I have spoken about my pay very openly 😊 To clarify for those who have not seen my other videos talking about this, the $114 an hour position I held was a 13 week crisis contract. I was day shift, working 36 hours a week, 41 miles from my home. I was considered a local travel nurse and I did not receive a food stipend. It was a 5:1 patient ratios on med surg. We also worked in the ER overflow area which was a makeshift med surg floor. The hospital had the national guard working at it as it cleaning staff.
I’ve been on some sites where doctors talk about “professional encroachment”. But I don’t think that’s true at all, because in my area they seem to go out of their way to get APRN’s and DNP’s on board.
@@Katherine_Ann That was my guess too. Also, from what I’ve seen, doctors usually have more experience having had to complete their residencies, but nurses in advance practice usually have more experience in direct patient care, and that too can make a difference.
Thank you for sharing! I am working on offering services, however do you have a contract incorporated beofre starting? Or do you still chart? Thank you and God Bless
@AndreaEnriquez-q5d a contract was written up prior to charting and a give the family a monthly progress note and keep them updated via telephone. I have no actual "charting" I need to do.
I’ve been through home hospice care twice with both grandparents, and I can unequivocally say that the nurses were SUPER strict about treatment and administering ANY medication, and that’s the way it should be. Upon their passing they even supervised the proper disposal of any narcotics. That nurse did the right thing and I salute her for it.
Do you have any advice for someone who is a recent college grad but looking to maybe make a career switch to nursing in a few years? I need to pay down some of my student debt first, but I feel like I missed my calling
Hi Sara, great question! I think there's numerous options that you could pursue. Since you already have a degree, I would look into an accelerated nursing program. You could obtain your BSN within 18 months or so depending on the program and if you have the necessary prerequisites. I'd definitely recommend working in healthcare if you are not currently. Even if you want to wait a few years to pay down your student debt (which I think is smart) I think it would be wise for you to be exposed to the nursing world by becoming a CNA/PCT. You can still make some good money and depending on the medical facility that you're at, they may provide tuition assistance!
What do you do if they are always scaring you saying you have to get an epidural because of the baby’s heart rate is dropping? Is there another alternative?
I would say, I''m 50/50, I see the major benefits of both. the problem is that patients will not follow a healthy lifestyle or the education received 70% of the time, and will just keep coming back to the hospital, not realizing how powerful their decisions are, to heal themselves or harm.
Traveling is being cut short, every day there are less and less agency nurses and more people are going back to staff. Even prn positions are suffering since they are then first to float to other departments. I just transferred to a progressive care unit. I'm one-year in nursing, starting to understand how badly medicine is managed and how its run. I'm staring to look into holistic medicine!
Greetings Nurses. I can, I will, i must pass Nclex A Congratulations🎊🎉 55 on your pass. I did my NCLEX Today, i passed with 86 questions. Sophia you are the best. I failed my NCLEX exam 2 times first was 2022 second was 2023 and lost money on review questions and also wasted a lot of time studying which never helped me.
Hey! Not a nurse but I heard three super high pitched loud sounds coming from my luq. It wasn't swooshing, writing, or air, it was just like a door creaking twice & loud enough to be heard. Is that normal? Ty
For those who are looking for an RN to BSN program that isn''t only about writing papers, check out Post U and Rockhurst U. BOth are obviously accredited and have different types of assignments. Some quizzes, powerpoints, etc.
Sarco" is neither authorised nor legal in Switzerland. There are still open legal questions. An application for an 'operating and professional licence' has been submitted in the canton of Schaffhausen (Switzerland). However, the response has shown that its use would be a criminal offence.
Thanks for the information. I am going back to school for nursing and want to do private duty. I've been a nurse aide over 10 years. I also a home health aide. How much nursing experience before trying to become a privat duty nurse?
I cannot actually express in written words what I think the penalties for this should be for the parents, advocates, and "medical professionals" who participate in such evil.
@karamaybee2314 Hi Kara! I think that is a great point to bring up as many of these children are dealing with suicidal ideation. It has been shown that even after any "treatment" The suicidal thoughts remain. The route cause needs to be addressed in what is causing this gender dysphoria.
Hi, thank you for watching! Well, that depends on where you're currently working and what they require for you to level up. There may be different educational requirements or just experience. I would definitely put whatever effort in that is required!
You will be an indebted slave to community health. Lol. Believe me, there is a reason why this exists. No one wants to work these bottom of the totem pole jobs!
that last one, that is a NO NO, seriousness is the key, you never joke like that, you could give the staff a heart attack LOL! i have heard similar storys from electricians. a friend of mint told me how his co worker almost gave him a panic attack. while doing a lighting update in a store, he heard him shout and the ladder falling over. when he looked in, he saw him supposedly pinned underneath the ladder, holding the fluorescent light ballast he was replacing. he was about to phone 111 when he got up and said gotcha!. what he did was shout, tip the ladder over and lie under it to make it look like he shocked himself and then fell of the ladder whilst being crushed beneath it. practical jokes can be dangerous. not worth it IMO!
As we learn in nursing school there are many reasons for obesity. Aside from the diet and exercise component you already touched on, these can include *genetics*, disease, altered sleep cycles, and high levels of stress/chronic stress. Many nurses face high levels of stress the entire shift as well as altered circadian rhythm from waking so early for work. For many, especially new nurses, this stress carries over into their days off worrying about their upcoming shifts. Everyones bodies are different and the effects of these things will impact each to varying degrees. So while one may be able to wake up at 5am and head to work without it affecting their weight, another may gain weight. I dont think we should add more shame to our healthcare workers by insinuating it is all their fault. As we know, obesity is a disease.
I'm a holistic nurse, of course I understand that my patients have different spiritual beliefs and am sensitive to that instead of cramming mine down their throats.
Prospective nursing students beware !!! I went to nursing school late in life and it was a disaster. There were teachers who would help students to succeed and then there were teachers who concentrated on making it unnecessarily difficult. I’ve found many nursing instructors have an unwarranted high opinion of themselves and want to see students suffer and fail. Nursing isn’t difficult if you are in a school that employs people with teaching ability. Having a degree doesn’t make you a qualified and competent teacher.
