There must be such a thing as a 1988, Supra-Non-Turbo? Mine needs a motor, yet, surely it isn't a former turbo? I own 3-80's of this decade, Supras, yet, why does it seem--no way!--do our youthful sports car lovers, between the ages of 24 to 40, yawn at the idea of me possessing 3-Supras of the 80's? It harms my brain. :( These babies were the hottest items of the entire 80's decade! Wake up, you brats. ;)
As a guy with a gte harness im needing to repair to fit onto my ge cressida car this helped tons. Labelled out my stock harness for the most part, know what connectors i gotta hunt down to repair it, and am hoping i can get this jawn up and running as soon as my bank account allows for it lmao
Do you have a place that sells all the plastic connectors as a kit ? Or do you just kinda have to piece it together from different manufacturers? I’m rebuilding my harness currently and using this video as a guide so thanks !
What was that little blue connecter near the c1 plug, also would the black and red wore supply power to the cps? My cps is very underpowered right now and everything else gets fully powered like kt should
Found this really helpful, thank you so much! I’m just curious however if it’s possible to swap a late 89 (grey plug?) harness into an 86 chassis? The harness I’ve got has been modified for an aftermarket ecu but I’m not too sure about the body plugs…
Hey Ron thanks for the video. Question, any reason why someone would add a ground wire to the EFI Main Relay? I'm having an issue where it seems like that relay isn't properly grounded and the AEM has issues under boost unless the headlights are on. I'm trying to figure out why having the headlights on would allow the car to drive better under boost? seems like there is a poor ground somewhere.
Just about to rebuild my '91 harness for an EMU Black configuration. Thank you for the overview. Very informative. Any chance of an image of a '91 engine harness? Thanks
I got a 87 turbo targa with a rebuilt cps but im not getting any signals from the cps wiring in the harness. (no tach movement nor coilpacks firing). So I plan to buy a new cps rewire kit, but dont know where G1, G2, NE, G- run into on the harness to the ECU and where the Shielded ground bolts onto. Because I looks like the ECU in this vid is behind the glovebox. But mine is run down to the passenger kick panel.
Hey Ron, long time customer that's still referencing this video years later haha. I think you missed mentioning the cold start injector connector and on 89+ harnesses the progressive power steering connector. Thanks for the 7M love!
bought this and some other parts over a month and a half ago. emailed 3x about the packages arrival or location no reply, as well as no way to get a refund. absolutely unreal.
Hey Ron, I bought this almost a year ago and tried installing it today. When pushing the adapter onto the E1 connector (male) you said to push up on the connector as you push in. By pushing up were you tilting the connector down? I get the adapter about halfway in and then it won't go anymore.
