What a lovely man to come over to a bunch of fans and to treat the young girls with such kindness and generosity. But, here was an opportunity to spend a few moments with an intelligent, charming and funny man and, it was all gimmie, gimmie gimmie" from the crowd. Like he was on set taking instructions from a director to pose here, write that, say this. And the way they "made" him say their names, (4:12) I cringed. Geez. I was embarrassed to call myself a fan. And yet, he was so accommodating to them. But, is that all celebrities can expect from their fans? To service them by signing autographs and taking pictures with them in order to provide them with some kind of proof that the fan really met them so they can brag about it to others. When I was 15, I met Dusty Springfield (one of my favorite singers) in front of the Brooklyn Fox Theater after a show. I would never have thought to treat her like that. Different times maybe? IDK
How gorgeous and sweet is Colin to his fans going out of his way to appreciate them. He is just the perfect reward and so worth the wait. I am sooooo jealous but happy for you guys. He was in Queensland in June filming Railway Man but I missed my chance to see him. I would be speechless if he stands that close to me and would probably even faint if he smile or talk to me...sigh....
