I still havent got to end level but I always keep coming back and just... Enjoy the atmosphere and exploration in this game, the amount of greatly designed locations and the warm, cozy vibes just makes me feel at home while playing the game.
I was stuck on The Tomb of Elendil 4 years ago and left the game due to life issues. The first night I returned, a kind player ran myself and 2 others through the dungeon. What a great game, and even greater community! So glad I didn't fail Aragorn =)
hey man, you're a little rusty but you definitely still got it! you don't really have the time for it like you used to, but you can still rank! don't let your age hold you back, you're not old yet, you just got a lot of other things keeping you occupied.
Honestly I do miss this really bad now, I think blueburst server went down when I played, and pso2 took about 10 years to release so i wasn’t excited for it anymore….I never did unseal that j-sword
Well said that players are actually sort of NPC in the Middle-Earth. We play a minor role, we're not saviours of the world. I guess it brings some special charm to players.
It has been years since there has been an update that isn't a huge grind. When it comes to maps the sh Ie is pixeled really bad and loth looks like some threw up on it. Both were much better before their update.
Whoah I've only ever seen this game on Highlight Reel really so it's interesting to see you play it. Guess the short answer to the question is 'no' ;) haha. You might have to join them trading pokemon cards in game 😂
im still a pretty new player lol now that i have a better pc i have very few issues outdated graphics isnt the issue for me and sure it did take me a while to find how to adjust the ui to my liking but thats pretty much it i think. i like that i can adjust text size im my journal while ddo doesnt seem to have that.
I am a bad altoholic, so my highest level character in LOTRO is 47, but I love coming back time and time again to try and progress a little bit further. The music, world scale, and story are all top-notch. The community is also one of the best you'll come across. I may get distracted by other games from time to time, but LOTRO is my cozy place.
LotRO retains it's player base because of the rather nice community, because it's very cheap if you don't mind the hassle, and because the themes inherent to Middle-Earth are well respected, unlike in some other media. The outdated graphics are only a problem if you consider the character grid or graphics. The environment is really top notch, as well as the music and ambient sounds. Sure, it's not Unreal 5, but that would take away from the setting. Thanks for the video, and I'll see you back in-game.
I dont get the appeal due to lack of any difficulty. Why start an adventure if there is danger anywhere to be found (except maybe end levels). That new feature to increase tiers is a step in the right direction. But they should change the entire game to that rather than having to choose.
I have played on and off since 2010 and keep coming back. My playtime isn't the same as it once was in mmos due to work, family and 2 young kids but I still keep coming back. I am most likely getting ready to return after a year break as the legendary servers are drawing me in again. Lotro holds a special place in my heart and I'm a big lotr fan, the lore and immersion of this game just outdoes everything else for me, I also keep going back to eso but this is different for reasons. Yes the lag pisses me off and many of my friends quit long ago but I still want to play
I was excited to play this but after I got the game installed I discovered it has "free Revives" on a count down timer every hour or something. After I saw that I just lost interest and deleted the game from my hard drive and forgot about it. I'm not interested in playing a game for care bears that has dumbed everything down to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Lotro is a game that serves a dedicated community, but these people love the game. And most of us love Tolkien in general The stories and iconic people and places you run into is 2nd to none imo. Love the video.
You can definitely take it to a far enough extent of completing side story and many quests but as for hunting end game weapons, unit etc that you will need some buddies for. At the very least you will need them for their section ID
LotRO is like a well worn sweater on a cold night, or having fresh warm laundry dumped on you. It feels good. It is like a long term friendship with a best friend. It is the perfect balance between graphics that look amazing but dont try to hard. The game isnt like an Asian MMO that focuses most on endgame, but instead its about the journey however you have that option. I love using a Stone of the Tortoise and doing everything i can in each area including deeds. Ive been playing off and on since May 2007 and i still love playing it
The new Mordor server is physically located in EU, 64 bit server, tested on bullroar and the lag and latency so much better. Downside is of course the vip requirement and only testing on legendary server
It is a progression server, so its like restarting, server cap at lvl 50, and will gradually release content until it reaches current level cap. Traditionally they have killed the servers once they reach level cap and you can xfer your characters from the end of life legendary server to your server choice. In this Mordor (name of new legendary server) they might make it different in that once it reaches max level, it might becime permanent and you might migrate from evernight to this server. This is still up in the air and they will probably announce something in a faq very soon. They aim for end of july release of this server. Myself im super pumped for this, fresh start, max lvl 50 for atleast 3months+. Also new dynamic event, might spawn wraiths, greater wraiths and ring wraith, requiring up to 50 persons+ to defeat. Also players can find powerful rings and keep for 10 days that will make the ring wraiths vulnerable (only way to dmg them). Sounds fun!
@@brunocar02 i decided against needing the discord buddy. A lot of us already had cross overs in other discords anyway so at this stage I didn’t see it necessary just to post the odd update about uploads.
@@Shireandshadows that’s super kind of you and I’m glad to have you! LOTRO is a huge huge love of mine and as much as it has its incredible it can’t be perfect
As someone who played it on and off for 13 years, I from Europe side but play on the NA servers. I notice the occasional stutter but it is rare and tolerable. I am used to the clunky playstyle cause I grew up with games like that and hell I even grew up with GW1 where you couldn't even jump except from a use of an emote. I have multiple high-end level characters but since I not been noticing what happened that past 2 years I need to catch up, and was surprised to see some new races and classes which were not there when I last played. But if I ever don't play for extended periods I usually create a low level as a refresher. Fortunately for me after playing actively so many years I practically own almost every quest and expansion from just playing the game and when I had VIP to get free Turbine Points, I know its called LOTRO points now.
Small nitpick, sorry 😅: Its* I think people forget or don't realize that this game is *very much* still getting updated and certain issues that players find will not be there forever. The first 64-bit servers are coming soon and UI scaling is in the works, and the devs do in parts improve the game graphically when they can.
Don’t apologise at all! I can only assume you are referring to the title? I do indeed agree with your statement about the updates that’s for sure! Even with some of the issues in LOTRO it’s still one of the most compelling rpg experiences you can have right now!
been playing the game for years, still havent reached end game, i come back every now and again to properly explore the world and no mmo has ever made me feel like its a real world and world i just want to explore and see the sights in. The music as well is such a huge selling point for me. I am glad the game never makes you feel like a giant hero it makes it just so much more interesting and joy to be in
Out of curiosity for someone who has joined years after release… How much slower was levelling upon release? I’m aware the level cap may have been smaller but it’s fairly slow now in my opinion
people should shift focus from MMO part of the game to the solo-questing or parting with friends. If you cant attract new players in a thousands, its better to focus on small groups.
Great video dude, for me lotro is the game that made me realize that i really prefer long journey games. In ff14 i would spend most of my time leveling every class, in wow i would just start a new character as soon as i hit max level, when really i just want a neverending journey through a massive and immersive world which is what i get from lotro. It feels good not just trying to race to end game too which is how a lot of mmos are now
@@Npc_Nate appreciate the comment buddy! Thanks for checking it out! So glad we are like minded on that. With FF14 I would get one job to max then instantly rush to get another one to max for literally no reason at all. All of the zones in FF14 felt disconnected and there seemed virtually little point in exploring when you can just stand in Limsa and queue from the duty finder. With LOTRO I love how the open world is the content and it requires you to use your head a little more in exploring new zones and quests. Not everything is laid out in front of you to just click through half heartedly
Interesting video. I remember (very) briefly trying LOTRO but for whatever reason I didn't get into it. Have you done a 'the new player experience' for it like you did with PSU?
I just wish they would let me play pso2 without having to download ngs, or have a single player with p2p coop version of the game. Since its done not getting new content.
For me and many Spanish speakers, the problem is the language. Even if you speak English or have read a lot in English, this game is all about reading, questing and stories. At the beginning you feel lost in hundren and hundred of lines of text and you end up being tired of translating in your head.
because i am sorry to say its not attracting to have to spend leveling for 10 months to get to endgame for many mmo players thats the best of an mmo dungeons, raids and pvp. They need to give players options to only do the main questline and level fast. But keep the option for players that like the slow approach to still be able to do that
I mean from what I could see there are level skips within the game for those who wish to boost to said “end game” I feel with LOTRO the game is more about your journey from start to finish as opposed to chasing BIS or high and raids constantly. Or atleast that’s how it feels
It happened the same to me, I really loved this game back in the gamecube era and just came back to it and I'm completely hooked up on it. Good luck in your hunts! <3
Played psp Version and loved it. Poorly There is no ps4 or ps5 Version . Loved the weapons and the game play. I hope we get a psp Classic remake with trophys on ps4 PS5
