Drake clearly can't relate to a parent not posting pics with their child for public consumption, since *everything* Drake does is all over socials all the time
The Drake/Kendrick beef reactions need a playlist, bc I don't know what order to watch them in, nor do I know whether I've watched them all, because they aren't showing up for me all in one place.
-Like That -Push Ups -Taylor Made -Euphoria -6:16 in LA -Family Matters -Meet the Grahams (released minutes after F.M.) -Not Like Us (released hours after M.T.G) -The Heart Part 6
Bey and Jay have nothing to do with any of this. Hes talking about Drake and Cole...you gotta listen to the he context of what hes saying. Listen to that whole section again.
17:37 Just like Aubrey can't understand the difference between "race," and culture that Kendrick is articulating, he also can't understand a celebrity who isn't a clout chaser/fame whore. How is it that Drake has known Kendrick for as long as he has, down to even taking credit for his career because he brought him on tour once, but still doesn't grasp that the man is a private person who's deeply protective of his family & crew. Kendrick puts his life into his music; he doesn't make the music business his whole life. 24:38 All those lines about little K, mini Drake, overlooking him, over Kendrick's head, back against the curb - all of it - are short jokes. That's what Drake has on Kendrick: accusations based on not understanding Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, not understanding the difference between "race" and culture, having a lot of money & charting songs and short jokes. Thassit. 41:07 "Waving a white flag," means giving up - a white flag is the flag of surrender. Drake is trying to flip Rick Ross calling him, "White Boy," into a positive, i.e. all the other rappers have surrendered to his club track dominance. Weak bar.
When Lil Kim and Remy Ma went to jail, Rap was in transition to the back seat right next to R&B. Diss tracks are grandfathered into “Rap” but Nicki at this time was technically “Hip Pop” not “Hip Hop nor Rap.” Catchy punchlines with a hot beat were more accepted by the masses. Nicki won the majority for multiple factors. Lil Kim was in jail when Nicki released The Come up and her first mixtape. Rap wasn’t the hot genre anymore. Nicki had a boost from Taylor Swift by promoting super bass. I can go on but the other point I want to make which I believe gets way over looked. Diversity. Lil Kim Missy Elliot Lauryn Hill Eve Trina Shawnna Da Brat These woman all had different stories to tell. Nicki duplicated Lil Kim and since then we haven’t seen another OG mold allowed to shine. Rapsody should have had her turn by now.
LMAOOOOOO this reaction is so GENUINE and Priceless. "Yes you have!" PLEAASESSEE!!🤣 Check out "All Hands On Deck". Tinashe is criminally underrated, and her fans (including me) appreciate you sharing your experience with her music.
She is now an independent artist, held hostage under Dr. Luke like Ke$ha. After she got popular, she got the Normani treatment. Perform and record for no $$$$$. Or get manipulated. So she said no. And so glad. Otherwise we would have never gotten A QUARTER of the music she has released. ☝
The video the girl girl didn’t say all the important stuff. But y’all should watch “What’s the Dirt” he breaks it all the way down as well as breaks down Kendrick’s diss tracks it started with Drake being sensitive nobody took the control verse serious they all seen it as kdot showing love Drake felt some way hence sensitive rapper
Drake has no classics, but he does have good albums. Arguably his best work is Take Care, but that album was written by the weeknd. In rap to be a great you have to write your own raps, so by default drake losses. But drake is a great pop artist. Both are great artist, it just boils down to preference.
About drake saying the N word, it isn't because he's mixed. It's because he didn't grew up in black culture, so when he started saying it later on. He was saying it w the 'er' at the end. It's on youtube, just search drake says the N word.
Wellll no that doesn’t matter to me, it personally bothers me a little bit because he is half white. So in addition to him putting the er.. it’s even worse. I feel like we touched on our thoughts at the end, but I mentioned that as a black person, I tolerate and accept it more easily when a person that is very evidently mixed with black and any other race says the word. So even if Kendrick was meaning something different, that’s how I feel about it. -KD
The thing is kdot is not coming for him being lightskinned or mixed. It's just that he us really Canadian, but coming into our culture using it because he wasn't really raised in america.
37:37 when Kendrick says classic he’s not talking about hits. Drake definitely has hits, but he does not have a classic. That’s why you can’t think of one.😂
I can’t think of a Kendrick classic either though so.. yeah but what makes a song a classic in your opinion? I think it comes with time. In like 2070😂 we could see songs like “Take Care” , “Started From The Bottom”, “Best I Ever Had” as classics, no? My point is.. I think it’s too soon to call any of Drake or Kendrick’s songs “classic”😂 -KD
@@KDMJ0529 I think Kendrick was referring to albums, not songs. That's why I agree with @MsMartyMa - a hit song or two on an album full of fillers doesn't add up to a, "classic." A lot of people would disagree with Kendrick that his last album is a classic, but most Hip Hop fans & critics agree that, "Section.80," "To Pimp A Butterfly," "DAMN.," & "good kid, m.A.A.d City," are classics. Maybe a better way of putting it is that Drake makes standard Pop albums with one or two lead singles & a bunch of B-sides, while Kendrick makes Hip Hop albums that are holistic works of art. P.S. Most people seem to think, "Take Care," is a classic album, but The Weeknd had way more to do with that than Drake.
if you have a classic everybody we automatically said the classic album ask anybody whats nas classic album they goings illmatic, etc of other artist drake have good albums but not a classic he do have a usher confessions album or a 2pac all eyes on me.
Euphoria: Drake not having a Classic, is subjective. Kendrick and Drake are clearly two rappers of two DIFFERENT sectors of rap and life in general. They live by a different set of rules so a Drake Classic doesn't exist to Kendrick cause Kendrick is a different caliber of artist than Drake is. There really is no comparing them, they are in different lanes. You have to consider that this song is from Kendrick perspective and his experience HE doesn't think Drake has a classic based on HIS standards for a classic. This whole being black enough and saying nigga is not what most people are thinking. Drake is USING his blackness for profit. It would be one thing for him to be embracing his black side through his music but thats completely NOT what he is doing. Its all about getting money and being famous for him and he is using his blackness to do it. For Kendrick, Drake saying Nigga is cringe, its not that deep. He literally says that in the song.
There's another layer to it. Most people would say that Drake's album, "Take Care," is a classic, but app. half of the songs that were intended for The Weeknd's album, "House of Balloons," were actually copped by Drake for TC. If it's a classic, Abel Tesfaye should be getting the credit, not Aubrey Graham. Abel was super new & mostly unknown, so when big, famous Drake asked him for his songs, he felt like he couldn't turn him down. It's pretty common knowledge he regretted it + the proof is in the pudding - The Weeknd didn't sign with OVO.
Faccts!! I feel like if I never knew it was a diss I could just listen to it in the car or something yk. But knowing it’s a diss, it just doesn’t fit to me😭 -MJ
