Interesting. Kobalds have gone through some change since 2E. I think I am stuck on Eberron Kobalds thanks to online gaming. Honestly since they have "fleshed out" Kobalds over the last few editions I feel bad for their "cousins" the goblin. Goblins just don't seem to be getting the same level of "love."
I never heard of Greyhawk first of all I was kinda too young to discover it in its prime, I had been reading Dungen and Dragons books starting with the drizzit novels and I discovered Greyhawk when I went to discount stores and in the book section there they were already at the time 15 years old great stories in them
Greyhawk... Gord the Rogue, you ask? If you love the fiction of Dungeons and Dragons, there are a few names you probably know by heart. Drizzt Do’urden. Artemis Entreri. Wulfgar. If you’re an old-school fan, there are a number of others names that you might know by heart, like Elminster. If you’ve been around since the beginning, though, you know that there’s one oft-forgotten name that deserves to live on in that pantheon. He’s forgotten by many, but he’s still important. That name, of course, is Gord the Rogue. Gord’s legend is fantastic, both on and off the page. He’s a great character, but he’s also a huge part of D&D’s early history. If you don’t already know him, get ready - he’s going to be a big part of your D&D education. Sit back while we reminisce about the immortal Gord the Rogue series. litrpgreads.com/blog/the-legend-of-gord-the-rogue
Thank you for letting me know you didn't play anything older then 4E in the first 2 min, there's no debate if you played older versions you know they have dragon blood in their veins.
They're dog-like! ;) The AI may have been fed too much info and filtered it bad. Thanks for pointing it out! But yeah, I do remember when Elf was a class not a race... An old, old man. Do have a bit of 5e knowledge (and OneDND or 6e now), but need to train our AI helper better, so thanks for the input!
As a barbarian lover, I couldn't even watch the whole thing, sorry... Posted two days ago but using a middling 2014 subclass to describe the entire class, and talking about 2014 feats (I checked my 2024 PHB on the new great weapon master feat, the -5 +10 is gone)... I get it, the 2024 update just dropped, maybe you want to continue with 2014, and thats fine... But if that was the case, the 2014 bear totem warrior barbarian (arguably the best tank in 2014 edition with resistance to all damage except psychic) would've been a better subclass to cover, especially since this was listed as being for tanks ffs, not the 2014 berserker. I honestly lost track of everything i would like to correct.
Great point! Old data is not good and things did change recently. We've been covering D&D and more since 2017, so we've got a lot of old data. Other videos have said "too vague!" so we went super specific this time... but wrong edition! Or at least didn't SAY which edition we're talking about. So, thanks for taking the time to write out this comment and help us. If you're a fan of the Roguelike genre at all, here's a novel I wrote (which wasn't easy to do!) And yes, it's human written. :) www.amazon.com/Roguelike-LitRPG-Book-Paul-Bellow-ebook/dp/B084JNNZ6V In all seriousness, though, thanks for taking the time to verbalize the problems so we can improve. Appreciate it! May your Sunday be groovy...
Any way you want to write a guest post for LitRPG Reads ... you could even lambast our other article?!?!? I dunno. You seem to have DEEP knowledge of the barb, and I'd love to share it on my platform. No worries if not!
I think the challenge with AI scripts here is that they spend 3 minutes making a big deal out of how a Barbarian should have Str, Con, and Dex, and what they do... even saying at some point "many players don't know this." The AI is trying to make the basics sound like esoteric wisdom, and taking too much time on it. I'm always curious at what AI does better than people, and what people do. And I big thing here I think is that humans (that actually have experience with a thing) are much better at emphasizing relevant and important details, rather than getting stuck in common knowledge. Tip on the images though: the images are movie way too quickly (even when I take the video off my habitual 2x speed) and the transition is way to jarring. Makes me to pop over to another tab and just listen because the visuals are too busy.
Noted and noted! We might be sending TOO MUCH info... it's a balance, for sure. I think it adds its "general knowledge" to what we send it too. Just had a few ideas, though... And good to know on the images! Going so fast, I have to generate a TON which is getting costly! Haha. So, doubling them maybe would solve a couple problems. Thanks so much for taking the TIME! I wish I could do more, but here's a free novel if you like the Roguelike genre at all... www.amazon.com/Roguelike-LitRPG-Book-Paul-Bellow-ebook/dp/B084JNNZ6V Have a great Sunday!
Wow. Yes, this does sound slightly off (the voices a little too clean, the dialogue a little too "accidentally" promotional)... but then again, there are plenty of human made things that sounds a little off. An interesting experiment in using AI for marketing, and to be honest, its probably better than a lot of marketing contractors would make for you. How long did it take you to put this together? Good luck in your endeavors.
Thanks! This video took a few hours. The game I'm working on, I've poured hundreds if not thousands of hours into it so far... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nmkQ59bHrW0.html Have a great rest of your weekend!
This is lazy work, all of the visuals are A.I. generated shifting through the variations of the prompt given. Both narrators are A.I. generated voices running through a mostly if not entirely A.I. script. I tried to give it a shot despite that but I couldn't. I've already seen so much of this A.I. generated content on this site and it's getting to be sad.
Agree. We shall fight anyone who says different! ;) Hope your weekend is going well... Here's some free random encounters for ya... randomencountersai.com
Yes! As it says in the description, it's AI generated from a 3+ year long thread about my roguelike game... My voice is going, so I'm tryin to use AI to get the word out. Sorry it offended you!
The problem with ai driven npcs is that it could be easy to imagine becoming friends with villagers and becoming so emotionally attached to them that you can't bring yourself to continue the story, fearing that something you do will cause the downfall of the village or npcs
Good question... how real do you want to get? I've been playing with the "overland" stuff... Here's a free Roguelike NOVEL I wrote a while ago... www.amazon.com/Roguelike-LitRPG-Book-Paul-Bellow-ebook/dp/B084JNNZ6V
Thanks. A Roguelike "story," you say? Here's an entire novel! Was not easy to write with permadeath! ;) www.amazon.com/Roguelike-LitRPG-Book-Paul-Bellow-ebook/dp/B084JNNZ6V
@@obanjespirit2895 Ah, no television here. That might be why our communication is breaking down? What did you mean by "Also the Free AI, they are enslaved sentients..." Kinda confused, but if you can clarify, I can try to answer! Thanks!
I'm not against using AI for content. However, I was extremely disappointed to see that a video talking about gifts/accessories would not even feature the actual gifts with pictures when talking about them. There were too many references to "the article" in this video. If I wanted to read an article about TTPRG gifts/accessories, I would not be on RU-vid.
Ya know, you 2 have the best voices for any of the D&D type channels. You both sound like professional broadcasters / podcasters. OH ya, the content is good, but agree with @burgchergler below about the AI. Maybe more applicable are / showing the builds and feats, features, etc.. as you talk about them. Cheers.
I've played Frosthaven. We played for four hours once a week for over a year and still were only like 20% through the adventure. We each unlocked new characters and I was getting ready to unlock some more. It was a lot of fun; eventually though, we decided that we wanted to do our laundry and work on other hobbies.
I remember playing Nethack... A teacher's aid at school offered to get me ANY video game. I said Nethack. He said it's ascii graphics! I can get you King's Quest! I said nah give me nethack lol
@@litrpgadventures6902while KatsuhirpHebi didn’t say it very nicely, there really wasn’t much of substance in the video. When you say you’re going to present the most powerful builds, etc., you probably should go into a little more discussion of the actual build. Yeah, that would make for a much longer video, or you could split it into multiple videos. Also, who is bellow? (Belleau ? Sp?) If these aren’t your builds, you should point us to the person or link to the video with the actual builds. Edit: never mind. I found the link. And there’s literally nothing more there. You just actually had AI read the text word for word. This really was useless.
@@BrentDnD Thanks. No, it wasn't word for word. Some AI tests we're running. A new one for barbarian feats has a LOT more detail. We'll likely take this video down and replace soon with a better one. Thanks again for the input! And sorry for the misunderstanding on the audio! I like the idea of maybe doing ONE build per video but going a lot more in depth. Trying to do ALL of them at once is the problem here maybe. Appreciate you taking the time!
@@BrentDnD Also, Paul Bellow is me, LitRPG author and game developer... Here's a free novel! www.amazon.com/Roguelike-LitRPG-Book-Paul-Bellow-ebook/dp/B084JNNZ6V
@@litrpgadventures6902 Yeah, that "chit chat" dialog really gets grating fast. I ended up tuning out and leaving before watching the whole thing. I lived out the first release of all modules so I have a basic knowledge and memories of playing or running most of them.
@@bluelionsage99 Thanks for the honesty! It's appreciated! You might dig the website more then... lot of old school gems hidden there... litrpgreads.com/blog/six-best-dnd-modules-time Thanks again!
also description says every class but yall fully left out artificer, plus none of these are actually builds, youre just describing a few randomly picked subclasses for each class, borderline reading off a wiki
not a bad video but yeah out of the gate ai art is a major turnoff to your content, especially in a scene thats this creativity focused, better to use basically anything else or no art at all than using something that a majority of the community actively despises
@@litrpgadventures6902 dosen't really matter, putting anything into something thats entirely antithetical to the community as a whole will only net you negative reaction
@@burgchergler7344 I'm already hated, so... ;) I hear you, but the AI tools are helping other people. I wonder if the early workers at the Ford factory had to deal with the same from the horse people! ;) But yeah, I'm losing money in this venture anyway, so might as well keep going...
Good catch! ;) Yeah, I've been playing around this weekend. It tends to hallucinate facts a bit, so I'm editing and tinkering... Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week...
