Fascinating to see an area through others eyes…. As a brief addendum…if your a fan of the TV ‘Poirot’ starring David Suchet you will know Shoreham airport well as it crops up practically every time an airplane or airport is part of the plot… it’s been fictionally relocated to lots of countries in its time as the best Art Deco aircraft connected location… whenever we see it we look out for glimpses of ‘Dracula’s Castle’ also known as Lancing College Chapel, a huge gothic revival building that can be seen from miles around…
I’ve lived in Ockley nearly all my life, apart from a 10 year stint in Dorking. Dorking is actually built upon a series of caves which travel for miles. Polesden Lacey is actually in Bookham, about 5 miles north of Dorking, nearer to Leatherhead. The church is St Martin’s, not St Michael. It’s in the centre of town. There is still a bridge near the stepping stones, if you walk up the trail to the left of the stepping stones (walking from the car park) you’ll come across it after a few minutes.
Hi Stan! I love how they built houses right on the marina. Wow! .. what a beautiful care home. The apartments must be beautiful. Can you tell the houses are my favorites? 🤭 Those piers are fabulous. Too bad they closed.
Hi Stan. 👋 If I had to convalesce I would consider myself lucky to be in that lovely town by the sea. It was so quaint in the first drawing of the town. 😊 I love the villages. Growing up in Detroit, they really appeal to me.
Thanks Sweet Pea. There still are a few homes by the sea around there. They used to bundle them up in bath chairs and leave them in the sun and sea air to get better.
@@PrettySweetPea You will certainly get the sea air - and taste of it - in Seaford as it rushes in off the Channel. Even on a relatively tranquil day, the sea air on the promenade in Seaford is quite invigorating.
Wow that cliff! 😮 I think I might love to live in a lighthouse. ❤ The village was so quaint on the edge of the cliffs and water. It would be nice to live in any of the countryside. So pretty.
Why aren't your video views increasing? And not reaching people? The reason is: Your video thumbnails aren't eye-catching enough Lack of audience Your content is fantastic. With the right thumbnails and editing, it can attract more viewers and keep them engaged. If you improve these aspects, you should see a significant increase in views and engagement. How cool to go skating on a pier! Roller skating was an integral part of my childhood. We still love to go roller skating. Thanks for the video Stan. ☺️
I love how they would wall in the little villages or estates. I honestly wouldn't mind my area walled in now. 🤭 Like they say fences make good neighbors. 😂 Thanks for another interesting video.
Interesting. I live in Wyoming, along the Idaho border, where the oldest roads are a little over a century old. An artifact from an early explorer was found on my property, and it was two centuries old, and is now in a local museum. It is fascinating to learn about roads that date back to before the fourth century A D.
Thanks for the comment Rob. I was raised on the Canadian prairies and the oldest road there was along the Red River. An ox track from the beginning of the 19th century. Exploring England gave me a real sense of history.
That's amazing that a _whole_ village was once there and now it's just a field! 😮 How interesting, the windmill being rebuilt and as a residence. I think living in a windmill or a lighthouse would be so awesome. Thanks for the history ❤
