if you actually want to maximize productivity, linux is unbeatable. only viable if it runs everything you need, but tiling window managers and keyboard navigation are a game changer
it's not gradual, nor customizable, nor being able to deactivate using certain applications or when there's something in Fullscreen, so flux is that much better
At one point I was trying to balance gym, reading, school, language learning but I was getting nowhere. Luckily I realised soon and quit that. Now I found it’s best to focus on 1 for a long period of time then maintain. Like going to gym 5 months straight and pushing hard, then after 5 months don’t push just maintain
@andyyu217 it kind of is having a negative affect on me even though I won my first game jam , I barely get time to workout barely hitting 3x per week (I am someone who works out 7 days a week no rest pure prison style) I don't even get enough sleep nowadays I sleep at 2 am do you have any tips to help counter balance this

But what I will say is to incorporate more of the deep work and shallow work principles, try to outsource what you can to other people so you have more time to workout or make more games.
@andyyu217 hmm I think I'd pass on the one and one coaching thing, the thing about outsourcing is true but I am an indie dev , by that I mean that I like control over my work so basically everything I do should be changeable by me , this means I make my music , make my own story, make my own art , make my own game design and is one of the reasons I picked up game dev as it pours my creativity into something productive and teaches me 8+ skills that will be valuable later if I ever want to get a job.so my problem is I am on holiday right now and holidays are the greatest tools to Learn something, I picked up web development that taught me a bit of coding now that is helping me on game dev too so I'm still on holiday but the problem I come across is that the time consumed by game dev is so much other areas of life is gettibg affected which I am trying to fix right now by scheduling everything before I sleep which kinda works but is very hard to be consistent on , there are alot of thibgs I need to check in everyday and if one isn't checked in it feels like the day didn't go that good what is the fix for this problem of one area affecting other areas of life, I'm planning to take a week off so I can get ready for change but I'm not sure
It's all good, its good that you are scheduling things, that's what I do as well. I do suggest is try to become more of a minimalist, like separate your life into different periods. I am inferring that you are quite young right now like around my age. I suggest you go all in on video game development and just try to maintain your current muscle mass. This means you spend more time on video game development and once that takes off to a comfortable level, that's when you can focus on growing more muscle mass. So in short what I suggest is to focus on development for now for like 3 months or however long you want to and just keep working out and other things on the back burner.

@@kingriversea Deep work could be anything, it just has to be the most important task that needs to get done and you are the only one who can do it. The reason why I picked RU-vidrs and Artists is because no one can make the video for them, they can get help but ultimately it has to be them behind the camera. Same thing with artists, Drake has ghost writers, he’s outsourcing his writing to someone else because to him that’s shallow work. But he’s always the one rapping the lyrics that someone else wrote for him. So in RU-vidr case, being behind the camera and actually making the video is deep work and for Drake his deep work is rapping the lyrics. You have to decide what is deep work and shallow work for you. It depends on what your job is or what you want to become. Sorry if this was long, I just wanted to give a in depth explanation, let me know if you still got any questions.
Yeah, it should work for a laptop, but I suggest underclocking the cpu especially when it’s a laptop and adjust the fan curve to more lenient and more forgiving as laptops will have less air flow than a desktop pc. So I suggest keeping the fan speed to a minimum of 30 percent or off, if the laptop can handle it. Let me know if you need anything else.
Do you have issues with your mac overheating? I have the same mac, but the 13 inch version. I only have arc browser and outlook running, but its throttling at 90 C right now. The metal is so hot that I cannot even touch it.
I only find that my Mac gets hot when it’s rendering something like in davinci resolve, you should check if you have any background apps that are running and taking up resources, and I recommend setting a restart schedule every Sunday where the MacBook automatically restarts and closes all apps and background processes every week to clean itself every week essentially. That’s what I do, if all else fails, I recommend a full restart of the MacBook to factory settings. Let me know if you need help.

@@andyyu217 Also, have you tried doing heavy editing on after efffects or davinci on the air? I have the base model one with 8 GB ram, and i feel it struggles quite a bit with after effects even though apple claims that 8GB on their system is equal to 16 GB on other systems.
@5cG001 lmao I don’t use my MacBook for heavy anything I have a pc for that, Apple saying that 8 gigs equal 16 gigs is just crazy talk, cause running brave browser takes up 70 percent of the 8 gigs in the system, rendering 4k vid on my MacBook Air did take 20 minutes and it did get hot. I haven’t tried after effects on it. I feel like it would of been a better deal if you could get the 16 gig m1 mac for the same price of the base m2 macbook or better yet just go for the pro version of the MacBook if you really need a Mac or build your own pc for the ultimate price to performance. My base m2 vs my 16 gb 10 core dell pc are not even close. My PC can’t handle my dj equipment and the Mac runs it all with no issues. Plus you can’t compare a 16 gb pc to a 8 gb Mac. With my two laptops the m2 8gb runs the same or faster and out performs in every task. The worst part about pc is windows it is terrible and the drivers never perform constantly need updates. Mac just works not extra setup BS like windows. Good video though just giving my opinion.
Yeah I get what you mean, to debloat windows takes at least 30 minutes and to optimize everything takes longer. Mac needed little to no debloating and things do just work. Appreciate your opinion though.
Yeah lmao maybe I should of, to be honest I repeated the tests like ten times and recorded the cinebench scores using a phone on a tripod, but I decided that just taking a screen shot of the results would be better. Next time I’ll do more voiceovers, thanks for your constructive criticism.
I got superglides 2 cause apparently they made it balanced for quickness and slowness for accuracy and it is super smooth. I never tried super glides 1 but super glides 2 are working super well for me and I can never use pfte feet again.
Im pulling 54 watts idle on my desktop for my gpu, I think your fine don’t worry about it, just worry if the temps get above like 100 degrees or something.
