This was very helpful. :). I'm just getting started and haven't orderd an official hook yet, but wanted to give a crochet hook a try. Your description was perfect for helping me see what is needed. Thank you!

Good Day! I am going to start doing rug hooking . Your videos are amazing . I dont have much to start with just my crochet hooks and yarns. I also have some unused cross stitch clothe (the big ones almost comparable to monks linen . I was wondering if I can use that for backing?
Beautiful rugs to show how versatile this craft can be! I have learned so much from your videos from so many techniques and different textiles to use for rug-hooking! You are so talented! Your book is on my Christmas wish list! 🙏🫰👍🎃👻❤
I just started punch needling and your videos by far are the best for every level of crafter. I’ve learned so much from you and love the fact that you stress “it doesn’t need to be perfect, just have fun.” I used your idea of buying a multicolored skein and separating it into individual colors and am so happy! Cant wait to buy the Mandela and do the same. Thank you for all you share.
Question….it is heavy or thick and sweaty without cutting out the panel you attached your mat too….i’ m going the route of cutting out the panel on a big piece but small pieces like appliqué I’ll not cut out the panel….
OMG!!!! Your Mom has got some skills…it’s not a wonder now that the apples fell so close to the tree…..I luv crows….Ive had one that barks and makes electrical sounds at the campground and for some reason he follows me to the beach …..maybe it’s Gumby , in crow form…visiting me 💚🖤💚
Love the rug and what you ended up with for your binding. Another idea if you want it to kind of disappear and blend into the jean jacket panel, would be to use a denim coloured yarn to whip the edges. Question - would it work to use Velcro to attach the rug to the jacket so that you can remove it if you want to wash your jacket?
Love It! ❤️👍Definitely a trend to follow for all the seasons, too!?! I would tack it down w/matching the denim thread then outline it with black lace binding using fabric adhesive?!? You could use the lace binding along the open sleeves to coordinate it, as well.
I agree with everyone here!! I absolutely love your videos!! They are so inspiring ! Thank you Deana for sharing all these tips and information so we can be better!
1:09 Looks like a Cedar Waxwing to me, but regardless, what a gorgeous rug! p.s. I haven't watched the entire video so if you already say this further on, sorry. lol Guess I'll find out when i get to the end. I'm so glad about your news, Deana, you're gonna be great!
