Thanks for checking out My Slice of Heaven. My name is Joey. My wife Kris and I have always dreamed of owning our own property.
In November 2017, we purchased our property of 92 acres. We will be camping, hunting, enjoying and eventually will retire here. Over the next years we will be changing the landscape of the property to best suit our needs. We will be improving our property in many ways, such as driveway, food plots , gardens, and eventually building our retirement home.

The high heat and lack of rain is so damaging. I am amazed at the number of trees you have Joey! Quite a selection. The grafted apple trees look real good. Well done! Good luck on the upcoming move. That can be a stressful time for sure!

It has been hard to grow anything over here this year too. We have had too much rain and little sun which sounds the opposite to you. We made an electronic water timer for this year but did not use it because it was so wet. It looks like you will be able to save a lot of them
💩 happens.. we're on year #6 in a row, of summer drought. Sure makes for a short hay crop.. and this year with so many 95-110° days, our garage didn't make it.. That's awesome that the grafts all took!!! At least you have taken part of the tree, more new life, in memory of your son❤️
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin I think it's dry enough here, you could skip cutting and go right to raking. It breaks off under feet. Hope next years better.
We had difficulty growing some stuff as well this year, our apple trees haven't produced any apples this year, might be because we were so aggressive with the trimming of the trees. I hope the shade cloth helps your trees.
I know what you mean, I planted about 30 tomatoes for fall harvest and this heat and my work schedule killed them all. Blessed wishes as y’all move forward Joey.
Definitely wouldn't call that a complete fail, Joey. The trees that made it look pretty darn happy! Persimmons are tricky, pawpaw even trickier. Those apple trees look pretty good for first year grafts!
Great job sticking with it. Construction projects are maddening..always running a million times to get parts. Smart to seal the floor too. Hang in there cause it is coming along you guys!
4:35 we put our filter after the tank so that if the filter got plugged it wouldn’t burn out the pump or burst a pipe. No kidding it’s frustrating trying to get plumbing parts after hours. 😅 Smart to seal the floor. It’s fun watching it all come together. Take care, 🌺
Nothing I read or watched explained why, what you said makes good sense though. My house back in Maryland I put the filter before the tank, never had any issues, it was like that for close to 30 years. But now that you say that, it makes perfect sense, thanks.
There are so many different types of piping and fittings its mind boggling. If your toilet base is 15 inches away from the wall I believe it should fit, look forward to finding out.
We bought a toilet and it says it only needs 12" from center of pipe to the wall, So we should be good. I cant set a toilet for the life of me, so we have a plumber coming out next week.
Two parts of the building process I do not like to deal with are plumbing ( which I will do ) and electrical ( which thankfully I have a good friend who is an electrician ) Keep up the good work. And back to the hardware store we go.
Kris and Joey! You guys are models of persistence. I cannot recall one plumbing job that I ever did in my life where I did not make at least six trips to a hardware store for parts!
I know right, then to be 20 minutes from the hardware store that closes early on Saturday and not open on Sunday, then its an hour one way to home depot. I did more driving than I did working.
Your all doing a fantastic job so far my friend’s be done before you know it take care and keep cool as hot as it is in Missouri bost to be 60% chance of rain up my way tonight and chance tomorrow

@@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors getting some countertop supports in this afternoon.. wish I'd been here when my brother in law put the countertops on.. would have had it done before they went on. Would have been so much easier... But..
This camera does not have wifi, so you need to have a card reader. you will need to take the sd card out of the camera and insert in the sd slot on your computer. I believe with an sd card reader you can plug that in your phone as long as it has the right kind of port.
