Nice! Been to Fort Bragg & Mendocino many times through the years (look forward to returning for a visit next month!) but these views are from perspectives I never get to see the area from, thanks for sharing your footage!
I love your videos not even Presonus are doing these, I have a 64 S 32 SX and 32 SC plus two 32 Rs and one 16 R on one network throughout my building, we should collaborate im in Chicago?
You’re welcome! Go into the windows audio settings, and select the output options, you will see that you have three options. It should be 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8.. but the PreSonus manual indicates 7/8 as the default.
This is good stuff! Thanks! I'm more so trying to use analog gear in post...coming out of the DAW into compressors & EQs, then back into the DAW to print on a track. Studio One does it seamlessly with this mixer using Pipeline XT. I use Pro Tools though and really don't want to switch DAWs. I really have to get better at understanding how the Digital Patching works within the Studio Live.
Thanks for this video!! I love how you showed the physical routing and not just the digital patching. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 days! I still have some work to do though because I have a PC. I'm also struggling to understand how to use hardware inserts in Pro Tools with this mixer. The inputs and outputs have to match essentially creating an in/out loop in order to use Analog Gear as an insert on a track. I can't comprehend how to do that on the StudioLive. Every other audio interface has corresponding inputs and outputs. I'm pretty sure Mix 1 does not correspond with Input 1 on this board.
For the Mix 1 situation.... Go into the Digital Patching menu and make Mix 1&2 inputs come from USB 7&8 (Default PC Stereo Output) , then pair Mix 1&2 on the mixer so that the levels move together for Front L&R Speakers.
Nice video! I have the same board. It doesn't hive me "too many problems" either.😂 Have you had it freeze up when you move too many things around in your project?
I’ve had the board freeze up many times, it’s mostly from very long use. When I’m working in the studio it’s usually for 12 to 13 hours and it’s on that long. During surround sound mixes, the audio driver will drop out of AVB on ProTools utimate,m; it also drops out during object mix downs with the Dolby renderer.
Just saw a second hand for 2600 euro (almost new). Is that a good price? this excludes lenses and other attachements. Or are there better camera's for that price?
Go for it! I purchased mine for around the same price and it came with a hard rolling camera case. Of course, there are better cameras out in 2024 but buy what you need for what you do.
Please do more videos tips and tricks for the 32s maybe how to use it as a hybrid and what desk would you recommend? im a producer /engineer so i do have drum machines i would like to keep in reach, thanks
Quick note for everyone that has PCs, you won’t be able to mix out in surround sound unless you utilize a Dante network audio sound card then convert to AVB using the Presonus AVB-D16 16-ch I/O AVB to Dante Bridge. This is due to Windows not having the AVB audio feature.
I wish PreSonus could release a SDK for StudioLive mixers which allows user to make simple customized plugins e.g. multi-fader linking, surround panner, automix, mix-minus, advanced cue control etc.
I agree, think it would be a huge selling point to have all of those plug-ins inside of the mixer, this would cater to the older producers that like hybrid mixing. I still do it from time to time.
Thanks for sharing) So you use this aux outs for BED monitoring, right? All your surround processing and summing are happennig in DAW? It is a Studio One, right? If yes, what you do with other 24 faders? Using mixer like midi controller?
Exactly. This is just for the bed monitoring, but there’s a trick to get the monitoring levels the same. I’ll show the 3rd party software in my next video where I’ll explain how I’m mixing the surround sound inside of the DAW and playing back. I use ProTools Ultimate for surround sound mixing. In this configuration for playback only, I use AVB in my Mac studio over ethernet directly connected to the boards AVB Port. Now for the other 24 faders they’re just used for inputs when I’m recording or using for a live application. This is done over USB 2.0.
I've got different impression. He is feeding mixer inputs from DAW multitrack, then makes surround mix in StudioLive. Surely, in example he shows only two inputs active.
@@alicaramba7680 almost correct….When I am in regular listening mode using the computer, everything is in stereo. The reason is because there’s no way to play surround sound in USB mode from any computer, you need the DAW to send sounds and pick channels, then digitally route out in AVB mode to separate speakers. In other words, there’s no way to mix or listen in surround sound unless it’s coming out from ProTools Ultimate. You’re going to see exactly what I mean in the next video tomorrow.
Love the channel man just wanted to show my support. Would be super awesome to watch someone ive known in person become super successful. I hope you have lots of fun on this journey and the path ahead holds many blessings. God speed my friend. Cant wait to watch how you further grow from here.
