To be fair to them your car is old. And probably not maintained as well as it should be. Thank your car's ECU for not letting it exceed its limits, although you'll probably have a transmission failure in the next year and blame the same company who you complained to because it's not allowing your car to reach full power... Using remaps is a gamble.

I agree with the conclusions. Using the RC RS on a VW 1.6 TDi, it works fine using it until stage 3. After stage 3, you get a check engine message and an engine in safe mode.
So, the base racechip S without app control set to level 3 should be the best at reliability and cheaper ? You definitely gained some torque and maybe 20-25hp judging from your results. Thats good enough. For more, a remap is ideal.
Yes but I will try a remap this spring and a downpipe to go with it, I will do a test before an after. I have found 2 tuning companies in one hour radius from were I live. The remap of CU should give more torque, hp and some more punch.
Hej, when you make your adjusted view and you choose engine you can also choose the engine hours to be showed. My recommendation is to play around with making your own adopted views till you get what you want. If you haven't solved it I can make a new video once the boating season is on again (in two months from now I will hopefully have my boat in the water) good luck
Hej I bought the version with the app, but you can buy it without the app (or could when I did). But my findings for both my BMW120d and 520d the default setting is also the one working the best both with regards to the car coming a little bit more alive and also a nudge better fuel consumption.
Well you have different modes and different levels, from more fuel efficient to more sporty mode, level 3 is the default value which I found working the best for my car. the higher once ended up in engine protection mode kicking in on my 120d and Racechip couldn't answer why ...
Yes I did but above level 4 I had problems with cutting power, and racechip couldn't fix that, so I run my racechip in standard level put in as default and that works well both for performance and fuel economy
I just ordered for my VW Jetta. I read the instructions prior to ordering and it clearly states that your chip will come set to the level that is optimal for your car. ONLY change the level down if you have knocking or pinking and ONLY change the level up if you aren't getting the desired boost. Once you reach the level that doesn't knock or pink then you have reached your maximum level for YOUR car. Your max level is 3. So it makes perfect sense what you describe based on their instructions. I'm excited to try it out next week!
OK but then I think that the racechip could have responded that to me when asking, I am happy with my racechip at level 3, but their customer service related to competent answers has much to wish for. good luck.
Thank you for the details video! I ordered one for my 2020 Tiguan , hope it will be good. I think the important thing about the RaceChip is the fact that can keep the car warranty, and easy remove before service.
No Garmin visualises the EVC data from the volvo Penta machines. You have to get both easy connect from Volvo and connect via NMEA, or just use the volvo app on your phone. But check that your EVC from volvo is compatible with easy connect
Yes I have it on the 520d as well, haven't tried 0-100 but the fuel consumption seems to work similar to the 120d, so a little bit more efficient. And the car feels a little bit more alive.
